Consumer Complaint: status of any debt. All of the account statements that was sent to me in a positive balance was very deceptive in me thinking that I had a positive account balance every month not an alleged debt. The civil liability for this violation is {$1000.00}. Pursuant to 15 USC 1692c- I did not give any prior consent to communicate to me about the collection of any debt. Communication is reporting any information to my credit file that suggest I owe an alleged debt. That is a direct violation and civil liability for this violation is {$1000.00}. Pursuant to 15 USC 1692d- A debt collector may not engage in any conduct the natural consequence of which is to harass, oppress, or abuse any person in connection with the collection of a debt. I am being harassed by having this alleged debt on my credit file and its damaging my reputation. You are purposely trying to oppress and abuse me with the collection of this alleged debt. The civil liability for this violation is {$1000.00}. Pursuant to 15 USC 1692g- The validation of debt that was provided to me in past account statements is incorrect. If this alleged debt was created from my open end credit plan my credit card which is my social security on the credit application then I would be the original creditor. If I am the original creditor to myself, how could I be in debt to myself? 15 USC 1602- Truth In Lending- tells me that my social security card is a credit card. Its not just a credit card but an open ended credit card. If I am the one who initiated the alleged debt and was given credit that I originally extended then how could I be forced to pay it back. Can you provide me any documents where I signed a Loan Application which would show that any money was actually given to me? If a Credit Application was signed then that is two completely different things and should be handled differently. I am the original creditor and I can not be in debt with myself. The civil liability for this violation is {$1000.00}. I am a federally protected consumer and my rights are being violated. I am being abused and mistreated and my intelligence is being insulted with this alleged debt that you are sayin I owe. I demand that the account be deleted from your system and zeroed out in balance and any liability be taken away from me. I demand that any reporting of this account be deleted from any credit reporting agency system. I demand that any payments that was received on this account be mailed to me via check to my address. I demand that I am paid {$7000.00} for the violations that was committed against me violating my consumer rights. I have been more than reasonable trying to get this issue handled for many month using communication through the CFBP and the FTC and I have a long paper trail. I refuse to keep being abused and taken advantage of. If my demands are not met then I will escalate my issue and seek further remedies! XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I clicked through a link with XXXX to apply for an American Express platinum card - the link offered a benefit of 125,000 American Express Membership Rewards Points plus 15X points on restaurant spend. My page timed out, and I continued my application later. When I was approved for and received the card, I found out my offer only gave 10X points on restaurant spend ( a potential loss of 125,000 additional membership rewards points ). Amex refused to honor the original offer after speaking to multiple levels of their management. I asked to close my account and reapply for the offer, and they said that I was only allowed one offer in a lifetime, and if I closed my account not only would I not get the lower offer they gave me, but I could never get an offer again on the same card. This practice is not only misleading, but it is harmful to the customer in the case of a misunderstanding to preclude / prevent another application.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX 18 minute call XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX 28 minute call XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX 26 minute call XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX 26 minute call XX/XX/XXXX submitted my bank statement from another institution to verify Im the account holder. I established this account on XX/XX/XXXX or XX/XX/2021. Since then I have been unable to deposit money. All of my accounts are showing not eligible for transfer. When I called customer service they basically say itll be 7 to 10 days until customer service technical support has a chance to look at it and if they dont understand the process or the problem then it is sent to the engineering team which intern takes more additional time. They have advised that I am able to transfer money in using A different banking institution, but if I do that I will have no way to withdraw the money from then until the issue is fixed. There is only two levels of support, and when you reach the top level they claim that they do not have a way to contact or reach out to a different individual in order to get this fixed.

Consumer Complaint: American Express offered a pandemic relief program to its customers with no penalties. I entered this 12 month relief program and just successfully completed it. I had no issues with payments or anything. American Express decreased my credit limit XXXX. I called and they told me they did decrease my credit limit due to being in their pandemic relief program. American Express fights for several social causes and I am so confused why they would penalize customers for accepting their pandemic help with no penalties. When I asked if they would return the limit back they refused. How is this treatment helpful to customers.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2020 I mailed a certified notarized contract along with a US post office money order in the amount of {$130.00} to settle the account with Amex. The contract clearly stated that cashing the above referenced check was an agreement to the terms in that contract and the terms written on the money order as well. XXXX XXXX received the check on XX/XX/2020 at XXXX am and cashed said check soon thereafter according to the US Post office website. By not complying within the 30 days of the original contract on XX/XX/2020, AMEX is in violation of the contract terms and I am hereby requesting that you hold them responsible for their actions and make them fulfill the contract as listed below : 1 ) Show the above mentioned account as paid in full 2 ) Remove any and all derogatory reporting from any and all credit bureaus including XXXX. XXXX, XXXX, and any others you're currently reporting to. 3 ) All collection attempts & activities shall cease immediately 4 ) You agree not to sell or transfer this alleged account to another collection agency or debt collector. 5 ) If you dishonor this contract or violate its terms. you agree to compensate me in the amount deemed reasonable by the court and that this agreement is a cognitive contract and you agree to summary judgement against you. Consumer Complaint: I entered a consumer credit transaction with this organization and extended them my credit and as a result they used my credit card ( as described in 15 USC 1602 ) and was extended credit in a consumer credit sale. they are now claiming that they originated the credit I extended to them, in which constitutes fraud, the alleged interest not included in the finance charge ( sum of all charges ) Pursuant to federal law They have committed fraud and several violations of the FDCPA and TILA. They are now threatening me for an alleged debt that they claim I owe. I never received a Material Disclosure of any of the information that was supposed to be provided to me. they have taken an unfair advantage of me as a consumer, and they should be held accountable for deceiving me and not validating the debt. They have not validated anything ; they have ruined my character and general reputation by reporting erroneous information on my consumer report and included a symbol on the contents of the envelope for the mail carrier or any person affiliated with the mail service or comes in contact with the envelope thats alleging I owe a debt. Theyve act as if they are unaware of what I am requesting or that the law does not apply to them and I've included evidence and proof, pursuant to federal law with facts that prove that the law does apply to them and that they must adhere to them. They have not provided me with any original documents, and they have disregarded the law by saying, they do not have to provide me with anything except billing statements or applications, which is not proof of validation or proof that I owe anything. They are also claiming that they must report information to the credit bureaus, however cfpb handbook 3.1.1 furnishers incentives and decentives states- reporting to credit bureaus and other consumer agencies by creditors is voluntary and historically has been. Furnishers have multiple incentives to contribute data to XXXX one of which is for borrowers to make timely repayments. Their willful non-compliance has damaged my reputation as well as my credit file.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, I applied for a cash back American Express card with the terms to spend {$2000.00} in 90 days and you'll receive a {$200.00} cash bonus. After I spent the {$2000.00} within the 90 days, I did not receive the bonus. I contacted customer service and this is what I was told : " Welcome offer was denied on your account. Your welcome offer eligibility depends on whether you have had the card which you are applying for in the past as well as other factors. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. There are more factors involved than the number of accounts you have opened and closed over the years. Based on your history with American Express, we did not approve you for the welcome offer on this account. '' In the approved application, as well as the approval letter I received, it was not mentioned once that the card was approved but the bonus was denied. This is false advertising and a deceptive practice from American Express. While I was using the card thinking I was getting my welcome offer, American Express knew they were never giving it to me but they were happy that I was utilizing the credit card.

Consumer Complaint: i HAVE CONTACTED AMERICAN EXPRESS FOR ALLOWING A CRIMINAL TO TAKE MONEY FROM MY XXXX CHECKING ACCOUNT. THEY RESPONDED THAT THEY REVERSED THOSE CHARGES AND THAT XXXX IS IN CHARGE OF THE FUNDS NOW. HOWEVER XXXX IS SAYING THAT AMERICAN EXPRESS DID NOT RETURN THE FUNDS DUE TO TIME LIMIT ON RETURNING FUNDS. MY XXXX CHECKING ACCOUNT # XXXX WAS USED FRAUDULENTLY TO FUND AN AMERICAN EXPRESS ACOUNT # THAT WAS NOT MINE AND I DO NOT KNOW.

Consumer Complaint: I received a targeted special invitation via email to open a Kabbage checking account. I applied and was immediately declined for selecting a prohibited industry type. I am a reseller and that industry type is NOT on Kabbage 's list of industry types to choose from so I tried to pick something similar. I ended up selecting Other Miscellaneous Retail ( excluding tobacco ). I called Kabbage to explain my extenuating circumstance, but they would NOT allow my denial to be reconsidered. That is totally ridiculous. Why even send me the special invitation in the first place? On top of that, why is Kabbage even putting these so-called prohibited industry types on their list? Why not just exclude them to begin with? This is a complete waste of everyone 's time.

Consumer Complaint: I tried to address this twice with American Express through the chat feature but I got a bunch of messages about fees to try to get me to give up and when I persisted, I was automatically logged out, twice! I would never expect American Express to be this underhanded. The issue was that I was charged a late fee and interest on this card on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX respectively when according to my emails, I had an autopay scheduled on XX/XX/XXXX which never occurred ( received XX/XX/XXXX ). The CSR lied and said there was no record of this ( or it's now automated as well ). I changed the bank for this autopay on XXXX but nowhere in the terms nor in my emails was I told the previously scheduled payment would be cancelled. It's too bad Amex wants to spend more money and time doing this the hard way and not even provide real customer service.
