Consumer Complaint: I just signed up for the American Express XXXX XXXX card a few months ago. At first it was great, and I used it for everything. I Spent the last XXXX years fixing my credit after medical and other hardships forced me into a tough spot. But I did it! Got my score up to a XXXX! I had plans to purchase a house and finally get my life back on track. So, I received my card around the beginning of XXXX, I think the XXXX, and planned a trip and booked my flight. I spent over a {$1000.00} but made a {$1000.00} payment right away. I ended up purchasing other items and whatnot for the trip along with daily necessities. I had over {$1000.00} on the card again. Around XX/XX/XXXX ( XXXX weeks before my first bill was due, and days before I received it in the mail ) I made another {$950.00} payment leaving about {$100.00} left unpaid on the card. I wanted my card balance low in case I wanted to use it while on Vacation. I come to find out a day or XXXX later, around XXXX, that my XXXX XXXX took a XXXX hit because American Express XXXX XXXX need to report my high XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX to the credit bureau XXXX XXXX before my bill was even due, and not even a month after I opened the account. I didn't miss a payment and actually made a {$1000.00} payment before they felt the need to report my balance. Now my XXXX XXXX is ruined, at least for the purpose of purchasing a house at a low mortgage rate. I called and asked them if this was common practice for them. Reporting a customer to the bureaus for high credit limit before you give the customers a chance to even get their first bill in the mail, yet alone giving them a chance to pay before the due date, and after they already made payments in good faith, weeks before the bill was even due. They basically said yes. They acknowledged my current low balance and said they would report it immediately to the bureaus. But that was all they could do. So now I will never use this card again. But that doesn't change the fact that now I can't get a mortgage at anywhere near the rates I previously could. This is a horrible business practice and ruins people 's lives.

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, 2021, I purchase on Amex Travel using my Amex credit card an airline ticket for {$98.00}. Due to reasons associated with the pandemic, I was unable to travel so I decided to call Amex Travel and cancel this flight. Amex Travel said that they will give me a credit of {$98.00} to use for another ticket with XXXX XXXX. However, yesterday when calling Amex Travel to use this credit, they are telling me they can only find a divided credit, XXXX for {$51.00} and another for {$46.00} and that I can only use XXXX at a time to book a new ticket. Therefore, if I want to use the full {$98.00} that I paid for on my credit card, now I have to buy with Amex Travel XXXX airline tickets, which is a total scam that I never agreed to. I never paid for XXXX tickets, I was only charged {$98.00} on my Amex credit card, in this sense, I am requesting the use of the full {$98.00} credit to buy a new ticket, however, this has been denied repeatedly by Amex Travel even after speaking with a supervisor. I tried contacting Amex credit card to initiate a dispute since the service is not been provided as described and not what was agreed upon, that I will have a future credit of {$98.00} to use to buy a new ticket, however Amex credit card refused to open a dispute on the basis that since it was the same company I can't open a dispute with them but I could only speak with Amex Travel agents, I told them I already talk with their agents which keep on refusing to honor the full {$98.00} credit. This has left me with a charge of {$98.00} for a flight I never took, and which I will never be able to use as a credit unless I am pressured to accept Amex Travel policy scam, of using partial credit, or buying XXXX tickets, which I never agreed to since I was charged a full {$98.00}. On the other hand, I can't dispute the charge with my credit card just because they are the same company, so I am being forced to accept what was never agreed.

Consumer Complaint: Organization I work for has had a credit card account with American Express for over XXXX years. When the account " owner '' passed away, AMEX said we had to transfer the account to another officer or board member. I have had personal credit issues and inquired multiple times what would happen if the transfer was denied because of my personal credit. And I was told multiple times that any denial would be sent to my home address and not to someone else at my place of employment. AMEX sent an explanation of denial to my work so others became aware. I spoke with XXXX, a supervisor at XXXX, on multiple occasions in late XX/XX/2021. XXXX acknowledged I asked multiple times and was told multiple times that any of my personal financial history would not be shared with my employer. And XXXX acknowledged that it was done. I asked for four things to help fix the matter : 1 : send a replacement letter to my employer, telling them the letter was sent in error ; 2 : a letter to me with an apology for their acknowledged error ; 3 : a copy of the call transcripts ; 4 ; some financial recourse for the damage AMEX did to me XXXX said no to all four requests even though he said, " I agree. We made an error. '' All he told me over and over was " I'm really sorry. ''
