Consumer Complaint: I received an American Express XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX through my job on XX/XX/XXXX. After having transactions declined on XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, and more, I called on XX/XX/XXXX to ask about how to use the card since on their website it says it can be used online. They said the card was declined due to security measures, but are unable to provide any information on how those security measures work or how to bypass them to actually use the card. I asked to be connected to a supervisor and was left on hold. I used it on XXXX online successfully and in person at XXXX. On their website it says, " They can be used virtually anywhere American Express Cards are accepted in the U.S. '' and does not include any information on their security measures, where the card may be used, or any relevant information.

Consumer Complaint: Attaching receipts of the travel booking made for airfare and cruise where the company XXXX provided us with an unsanitary room and non functioning shower/bathroom, pictures attached. They offered a partial refund for {$1500.00} and never gave it. Reached out to Amex for full refund for {$3000.00}. Claim was not fully investigated and closed without fair review. The entire ship was fully booked and they were unable to accommodate us into another room until the end of the trip.

Consumer Complaint: I received an American Express gift card from work for XXXX and I am unable to use the card anywhere ( online or in a retail store ) When I call the customer service number they provide which is XXXX I am told the card is active and the money is on there ( currently {$99.00} ). This same balance is reflected online as well along with showing the card as active. Customer service provides XXXX solutions or resolutions. All I am told is try the card somewhere else which is ridiculous considering the fact that I have now tried the card at all the places listed below +. I have called the customer service line several times over the last few days and even asked for a supervisor but they just flat out refuse to provide any sort of resolution. Online : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX In store : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX These are just the places I can think of with possibly even more places tried. This issue seems to be widespread and is affecting tons of people according to XXXX, social media and XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I had a XXXX XXXX that was linked to XXXX XXXX. I bought a flight with this card and had to cancel due to a medical emergency. I called AMEX and they sent me to the insurance company XXXX to file the claim. They said my policy is not with them, but with XXXX. Since then I am trying to get the correct email so I can send the documents to use the insurance and get my money back. I wrote several email, chats and tried to call several times and got no help. It seems they do not want to pay and the travel insurance do not work. They try to get me tired and forget about the claim. Very bad service!!! I want my money back!

I tried using it online. the card was declined, although it did show a XXXX cent authorizing / verification charge every time i tried to use it.. This is a amex card, accepted anywhere amex is accepted. but it was declined. -It was accepted *locally when i physically swiped it. but, there are things that I would like to purchase that can only be done online ; ie XXXX. I called, and amex rep said that i should wait XXXX hours, and it should work fine. -I did wait. It did not work.

Consumer Complaint: I applied for and was approved for an American Express Platinum card on XX/XX/23, with my application approval including a welcome offer of XXXX Membership Rewards points if I spent {$6000.00} or more on purchases using the card within XXXX months of account opening. After XXXX months, I had already achieved the required spend to attain the welcome bonus, but noticed that the rewards points had not been credited to my account. I called the Amex Platinum customer service line to learn why, and I was informed that my welcome bonus had been denied on XX/XX/23, with no reason indicated. This came as a surprise to me since I had been approved for the welcome bonus when applying for the card XXXX days earlier, and would not have applied for the card without the intro welcome offer. The customer service representative was not able to address my complaint, thus I decided to submit a complaint through the CFPB in an attempt to resolve the matter and ideally have the welcome bonus credited to my account.
