Consumer Complaint: I received an American Express gift card on XX/XX/2023. Whenever I use the card, it's declined. I have tried at least six times to use this card, and it's declined everytime. I've tried at XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX. The only denial that shows under transactions is the denial from XXXX, for {$0.00} ; other denied transactions aren't showing at all. I called American Express 's customer care on XX/XX/XXXX and was told that the merchant must not accept American Express, which is in no way true. She refused to further assist me and hung up in my face. I have {$100.00} that is stuck on this card that can't be spent because every transaction is declined ; whenever it's declined, I get a message about a problem with the issuing bank. There are limitless completed online regarding this exact same problem, and I'm definitely not making this up. American Express needs to rectify this situation and issue me a physical card. American Express is holding my money hostage and won't release it to any merchant for a purchase.

Consumer Complaint: I recently signed up for Amex XXXX XXXX everyday credit card. As the advertisement on the Amex page displays, this card offers 0 APR for 15 months on purchases. Upon applying for this card, a few days after, I received the actual card in my mail. However, the promo code was not applied to my credit card, and instead, they charge the interest rates from the day of opening. This is a very misleading and potential scheme to benefit this company, which is unfair to the potential customers.

Consumer Complaint: There have been unauthorized disclosures of my personal identifying information. Amex, XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX are fraudulently furnishing the information listed below. The information which appears on my credit report does not relate to any transaction ( s ) that I have made. This information violates my consumer rights and the FCRA, FDCPA, privacy rule 313, and the GLB Act. I did not authorize, or consent to this information. This information was not furnished with my written consent. These companies are coercing me into paying an alleged debt that they failed to provide validation for. This is a violation of 15 USC 1692d ( 4 ) and I believe they are blatantly committing racketeering. I have provided an identity theft report listing the accounts that should be blocked and removed. I have also provided opt-out notices from the model disclosures that I found on the CFPB website. If the attached opt-out notices provided by the CFPB is not sufficient, please provide me with a reasonable way to opt out of the disclosure of my nonpublic personal information. Please block this information from my credit report, pursuant to section 605B of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. FCRA Section 603 ( d ) ( 2 ) ( A ) ( iii ) opt-out. If the institution shares personal information pursuant to section 603 ( d ) ( 2 ) ( A ) ( iii ) of the FCRA, it must include in the mail-in opt-out form the following statement : Do not share information about my creditworthiness with your affiliates for their everyday business purposes. Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2023 My friend used the referral link of mine to apply for an American Express card. By using that referral link, I, the referrer, should be able to get a promotional bonus for the referral, which was XXXX Membership Rewards Points. XX/XX/2023 XXXX American Express online representative on americanexpress.com to inquire for the timeline of receiving that referral bonus. The representative confirmed the referral made on XX/XX/XXXX was valid and the referral bonus should be posted to my account in 8-12 weeks. The full transcript of this chat is saved and available on both my end and in American Express 's online system. XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX Contacted American Express online representative again for update. Interestingly, the representative said there had been no valid referral at all this year. The representative helped open a case for investigation. XX/XX/2023 Contacted online representative again, was asked for the name and address of the referee ( my friend ) to help with the investigation process. Provided my friend 's name. XX/XX/2023 Reached out again to update them with my friend 's address after confirmed with him. Was told the case was closed and the conclusion was that there was no referral at all. Asked to reopen the case with all required information provided. XX/XX/2023 Reached out and was told the case was closed again with the same conclusion. No other ways to escalate or do further investigation.

Consumer Complaint: A fraudulent application was submitted in my name to American Express, seeking approval of a XXXX XXXX XXXX American Express Card. A " hard inquiry '' was made with the credit bureaus in my name ( albeit my last name was misspelled ) on XX/XX/2023. I received a notice letter from American Express dated XX/XX/2023 notifying me that the application was declined ( so an account was not opened ), but the credit inquiry does appear on my credit report. I notified a credit and identity monitoring service that I use of the fraudulent application on XX/XX/2023. In follow-up communications with a restoration specialist, I had a fraud alert placed on my credit reports. On XX/XX/2023, I reported the fraudulent application to my local sheriff 's department, and contacted American Express to request that they note the application as fraudulent. American Express confirmed that the application was denied and that no account has been opened, and that they are marking the application as fraudulent.

Consumer Complaint: When I miss placed my credit card, I called the issuer American Express ( Amex ) and they issued a replacement card. I started to use the card and I setup the online account and I paid my first statement on the due date XX/XX/2023. I kept on using the card after I requested my due date to be changed to the XXXX of each month to arrange my payment to other cards I had. On the following month of XX/XX/XXXX, I attempted to make full payment to what I owe but I found ( Amex ) considered my payment was late and provided me with the next month due date which included late fee and interest. I called the customer care and explained everything and asked them to credit my account so I can make my payment but he answered that he tried but the system couldnt accept his effort because I had one late fee removed before which was not correct. I asked to speak with a supervisor and I explained everything again and his answer was the same so I told him I wasnt happy with his bank and I felt they are imposing unfair banking practice to inflate their profits. I called again on XX/XX/2023 and I told the associate that even though I was not happy but I make a full payment to avoid any future consequences of excessive charges and he promised me to upscale my complaint to the highest level to investigate then they will get back to me with their finding!! What adds more problems is now they are charging me extra interest because I missed my ontime payment before so my question to the customer care rep what I wasnt informed by the internet when I made my payment he kept apologizing but couldnt credit it that is a steel and XXXX off Please help! Thanks.
