Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Staff, As a timely bill payer, I am destined to get to the bottom of my disagreement with American Express. I find it odd that American Express is the only company who gets late payments from me. I have been with the company since XXXX. I have had more late bills from them than all three of my other credit cards put together in the same time frame. I take my credit rating seriously, and will never intentionally cause a bad rating due to a lack of responsibility. It is my belief that customers who pay bills via US mail with American Express may be caught up in a web of late fees. When paying by mail, it is my word again AEs word. So what I did was pay by certified mail all bills to them after XXXX, XXXX. Not one payment was late. The bill arrived in four to five days, which is what was typical behavior. It just seemed suspicious that I get caught up with late fees at least once a year. The bill in question was sent off nine days in advance due to the XX/XX/XXXX holiday in XXXX. Supposedly the bill arrived in twelve days. Please view my attachments. You will see where the bill did not arrive by XXXX p.m. on XX/XX/XXXX, but did arrive before midnight on XX/XX/XXXX, but posted in an email on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX a.m. I am in awe of the postal service delivering mail between XXXX and XXXX midnight on XX/XX/XXXX. CFPB, please consider the number of customers paying bills by US Postal Service versus the ones paying online. Is there a bias towards those customers paying by U.S. mail? Also, does my zip code have anything to do with my issue? I am attaching and numbering all the documentation. Some have anecdotal notes, and others do not. It has been a year now. I have tried to resolve this issue with AE several times. Everytime I attempted to drop it, my spirit would not allow me to do so. Self-avocation is very important. Thank you, XXXX XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I called two times today to see about a credit card I ordered for a worker. I ordered the card about 2 weeks ago. I first talked with a XXXX ( I didn't get her name ), she said she is the wrong department and transferred me, where I was on hold for more than 10 minutes. I hung up. I called the number on the back of my card again ( XXXX ) and spoke with XXXX XXXX. The call lasted about 36 minutes and she could not help me. I asked to speak to her supervisor, she placed me on hold and I did not want to wait more than 3 minutes because I am working, so I hung up. The customer service skills, listening skills, and general attitude of not caring shown by XXXX XXXX makes it apparent to me that American Express does not care about its customers.

Consumer Complaint: I purchased {$4000.00} in gift cards from American Express which I activate before I send them to clients. American Express no longer allows me to activate the cards which have already been paid for. Their representatives send me on line or through a phone tree and neither solution works - Ive tried numerous times from different computers and phones and on different dates. They will not put me through to a supervisor either so I cant get a refund or use my cards

This is my security collateral i want to utilize. If i cant use my security this is security fraud. if i am declined where is my security interest? If i continuously declined i am suppose to get line of credit for the amount applied. I do not accept this offer. I responded with affidavit fact stating that they failed to follow federal laws .Their policy states they participate in federal equal credit opportunity act. They havent provided enough evidence on their decision. This is discrimination. I have the capacity to enter into a binding contract. i also stated that my application was rejected by either a general manger or system they have in place and that i demand a manual review or evidence that they have the authority according to Federal Laws and Regulations to deny me the right to credit or extend credit. The applications ask me question about my employment, my age ( DOB ), race, etc .... i have my rights according to Consumer Credit Act that prohibits creditors from denying any right, benefit, or privilege. I also told them don not ignore this notice they have 5 days to respond back certified mail if they do not respond their silence is validation the claim of discrimination against me Done in Good Faith ucc1-308 without prejudice all rights reserved by : XXXX, XXXX for XXXX XXXX XXXX ( without recourse ) they responded that they would continue with their decision of denying me an extension of my credit. Consumer Complaint: On XXXX I had a transfer of {$500.00} from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( Checking ) going to American Express ( High Yield Savings Account ). On XXXX I closed my XXXX account when I switched to XXXX. I received a letter in the mail from AMEX stating my account was closed due to suspicion of fraud approximately XXXX weeks later. This is simply untrue and I only deposited {$500.00} when I initially opened the account. I contacted American Express right after getting the mail and customer service said I will receive a physical closure check, since XXXX wouldn't recall the funds for me, explaining they stated it isn't possible for them to recall funds from a verified transfer. On XX/XX/2023 I had my name officially changed and have a court order for. Approximately a month later I contact XXXX XXXX again and asked about my closure check, I was told that my closure check still needed my address to be verified over the phone. Then he stated he'll have the check expedited. I called again approximately 3 weeks later and after XXXX XXXX of being on phone calls I was told " the only way to get your money back is by having XXXX recall the funds '' which XXXX won't do. AMEX stated the reason is because they can't " verify my identity '', regardless of how much proof I show them. I've spent approximately XXXXXXXX XXXX of my valuable time trying to get my money back over the course of about 4 months and I refuse to give up now and I will take further action if necessary.

XXXX XXXX of them could help me complete my task. XXXX gave me the number for the " dispute department '' which was XXXX. Then I was transferred by him to XXXX, who said she is a customer service rep in the credit department. She transferred me to her supervisor XXXX, who said she is trained in handling disputes. I didn't want to talk to her and wanted her to transfer me directly to the dispute department. She refused several times. She hung up and I called the XXXX number and spoke with XXXX XXXX who said she was in the Account Services department and could not process disputes. Then she said she would transfer me to her supervisor. After more than XXXX minutes on hold, I spoke with XXXX, a supervisor in the " credit area '' from Florida. He was unable to help me, so I asked for his supervisor. He said all of his supervisors were unavailable and that it would take XXXX to XXXX hours for a a supervisor to call me back.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I use my XXXX to call XXXX XXXX car company. It was first at XXXX but was told their hours of operation was XXXX on XXXX. I had a meeting to attend that morning so when I got home at around XXXX I again call XXXX . XXXX number that I called is still in my search engine each time I called XXXX I would XXXX the number. I attempted to call to rent a vehicle while visiting my mother in XXXX Louisiana. I called XXXX XXXX XXXX I was asked some question so I follow the question prompts I wanted to know hours of operation I listen and went to 1 after that I was prompted to make reservation press 1 I did another question came up I pressed 2 and employee answered the phone and routed me to someone name XXXX XXXX between this XXXX and XXXX this is when I believe the scam started. This was the number for the XXXX I called so this must have started at the company but routed some how to the scammer. I feel it was an inside job because I called XXXX XXXX. I was placed on hold for about what seem to be 10 minutes. First person was XXXX, after the hold XXXX. I asked of any promotions going on He said yes that American Express and XXXX are together on a promotion and that it would be a daily rate of {$25.00} per day however I would have to go to a pharmacy store like XXXX XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, to get a American Express Pre payed for {$300.00} I said I could use my debt card he advise me not because the promotion called for the American Express prepaid and that card only or I would not get the promotion. I explained I did not have a way for all this which is the reason I needed a rental. But I would see what I could do. Finally my neighbor give use a ride to XXXX XXXX I purchased the first card call the while still at XXXX XXXX gave the the information requested. They had me to send receive of transactions and front and back photo of card. To XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX supposedly to be XXXX number and he would process the card. I was to sent the information to this number above so my card could be activated. Card number to that card was XXXX XXXX XXXX. Exp : XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX numbers on front f card. XXXX on back. He came back on the line saying the card was good after I got home he then said it was denied that the card had to be exact. He repeat American Express pre paid Gift this time and said I could also if not that get the XXXX XXXX XXXX prepaid card I said no because I didnt have a way and they told me what I need already they went back and forth with me saying it was no one fault but could I will return and this time I could go to XXXX because they had the gift card it had to be gift. So I went to XXXX looked for the American Express gift didnt find it but found the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX number XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX card expires : XX/XX/XXXX sec. Code XXXX. I again would have to activate send the three pictures to the same number then they Said they would Return to me {$610.00} A car for 5 days 40 per cent discount for up to a year Bring me the car I was so angry but I had spend the money XXXX said he would make it right that they were at fault but the promotion and membership would only work if it would be an American Express gift card. They I would have to get that card I was so angry that I hung up. XXXX call me back for they got my name and number in case we got disconnected earlier. So promises were made and I went to be each time they were also in route with the car but at the last hour the said they had to call the driver back. The last card finally went through it was an American Express card from XXXX card number XXXX XXXX XXXX. XXXX front of card XXXX security code XXXX. This card was purchased on the next day someone took me to XXXX. We asked which XXXX they were located at they asked for the card so they could be processed we went back and forth I asked for a manager some XXXX person got on the phone pretending to be a manager. Said they needed to process the card first she gave me XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Louisiana I said I would pick up the car then the XXXX gets on the phone says they needed to process first and he would bring the car. the money and I could keep the car until Thursday for inconvenience me. I gave them the pictures and then told me this was my membership code reservation number XXXXand I could pick up at the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX but if he gave me until XXXX they would deliver the car. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Louisiana XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX This was all a scam the number for the XXXX I called so this must have started at the company but routed some how to the scammer. I feel it was an inside job because I called XXXX XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: Section 4021 of the cares act amends the FCRA by adding a new subsection ( F ) to section 623 ( 15 USC 1681. 2 ( a ) ( 1 ) to reporting obligations of creditors that provide an accommodation to consumer affected by Covid 19 who have requested accommodation durning the cover period of Covid 19 pandemic. I was affected. Im requesting to be accommodated by deleting or deferring account. In addition 15 USC sec 604 states consumer cant furnish my information without my written consent. Never wrote anything to give you the right to commit this act. Also, USC 166B states a creditor may not treat a payment on a credit card account under an open-end consumer credit plan as late for any reason. You have committed multiple violations in accordance with the FCRA and FTC. Violations are subjected up to {$1000.00} per violation. I demand you remove immediately from XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX. I will also file a complaint with the CFPB.
