Issue: Struggling to pay your loan

Consumer Complaint: The reason I am writing is because I have been a victim of fraud/embezzlement. On XX/XX/XXXX, I got approved for a business line of credit to invest in a company my friend of 30 years was working for and invested in also. I only asked for {$35000.00} because that was all I needed to invest in a company called XXXX XXXX XXXX My title I was given was XXXX because I had excellent credit and the ability to help the owner grow the company. XXXX XXXX who gave me all the documents needed to submit to Kabbage now called American Express XXXX for funding my investment. The bank used to operate XXXX XXXX XXXX was XXXX XXXX XXXX which was added to the Kabbage business line of credit. My personal checking account with XXXX was also attached to the dashboard. I have 4 credit card accounts with American Express which were also compromised when adding XXXX XXXX to the Kabbage account. This was the account the auto payments for the line of credit were set up for repayment of the line of credit which was owned by XXXX XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, Kabbage increased the line of credit to {$90000.00} without my knowledge or consent which is almost 3 times the amount I applied for and needed. This increase is the reason I am writing this to explain how the fraud/theft occurred which put me in fianacial debt for a company I did not own. My home was impacted and damaged from hurricane Nicole and I made a claim to my homeowners insurance company on XX/XX/XXXX. I am giving this information to support my claim that I have been a victim of fraud and embezzlement. Once Kabbage increased the available line of credit on XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX, the owner of XXXX XXXX XXXX used his bank which is XXXX to transfer the funds, and this is when the fraud occurred. I was unaware of the theft dealing with my homeowner 's insurance which was unavoidable to contain the damage and save my home. When I became aware of the increase and theft on XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted Kabbage and filed a claim. I was given an ID Theft Affidavit packet from Kabbage to help me through the process I had to do in order to report the fraud. I had a lot of pressure on me because of the XXXX and timeline given to complete the packet. XXXX week I was trying to get all this done which I completed everything except for getting a copy of the police report. Kabbage only gave me 10 days to attach copies of all documentation required in the checklist. I was told by customer care representative XXXX that all documents needed to be turned in within the 10 days or my claim would be rejected. I called Kabbage to inform that I was waiting for the sheriff 's office to release the police report I made on XX/XX/XXXX. The 10-day period was restarted, and I still was having a hard time getting my copy of the police report. The investigation was turned over to a detective XXXX XXXX whom I spoke with on XX/XX/XXXX. He explained that he was waiting on subpoenas from XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX and American Express. I told him I only had 10 days to fill out and complete the ID Theft Affidavit and I had already got an extension. He called me back and told me I could get a copy of what was ready for the report to submit to Kabbage. I submitted all documentation requested from Kabbage on XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX which had to be notarized. The first payment of {$5600.00} was due XX/XX/XXXX, which was paid from XXXX bank. This is the only payment made by XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was promised by my friend XXXX that he would make the payments since Kabbage rejected my claim without giving me a reason other than I secured the loan with my social security number. I was very upset with American Express when I was told by the company supervisor that I could not get a copy of all transcripts from the phone conversations. I asked for the transcripts to assist in getting a lawyer to handle the dispute I was having with American Express. My credit cards are suspended for use due to the loan I can not pay because I never owned or gained any profits from XXXX XXXX XXXX On XX/XX/XXXX, I received an email from American Express stating that as a result of a recent review Kabbage Funding is temporarily suspending access to my line of credit. The email also stated before we can resume your access, we need some additional information. The email read Here 's what we need from you : Organized Documents ( Articles of incorporation OR Certified of Incorporation ) color copy of my government issues ID, and a PDF of the most recent one month 's bank statement directly downloaded from my bank. It also read to submit required information by XX/XX/XXXX or they may suspend your line of credit and close my account. This is where the factors of the company American Express Kabbage now changed to American Express XXXX have tried to cover their mistake in raising the line of credit in 6 days from opening and/or established. I already provided these documents when I applied for the {$35000.00} line of credit. The only reason I am in this debt to American Express Kabbage is because of the increase I never asked for. I would never have been a victim of fraud in this case if they did not do the increase. I never owned or gained any profit from this business XXXX XXXX XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I was flying from XXXX to XXXX. The XXXX clerk suggested and American Express card that was to give me XXXX bonus miles if I spent more than {$3000.00} in the first few months. I told the clerk I had an American Express in the past and he said it didn't matter. AmEx charged me {$250.00} for the card then promptly refused to give me the bonus miles. I refuted this three times with them and not once did they reply directly to me. I had to keep calling in and get shuffled around only to find out they say I wasn't eligible. I can see that I may not have been eligible because I had a previous Amex card but I told that to their representative when he suggested I applied. I was told it didn't matter. My contention is that the agents for American Express ( in this case a XXXX Clerk ) should be educated on the product they are promoting. AmEx would not give me the bonus points per the promotion I signed up for.

Consumer Complaint: I called AMEX on XX/XX/XXXX to dispute a charge on my card. the dates of the purchase were on XX/XX/2022, for {$2700.00}, and XXXX XXXX for {$9500.00}. When I talked to an AMEX representative she told me that the transactions I did were over a year and they can't do anything with respect to that due to AMEX policies. I explain to them that the company I made the purchase with an AMEX card was under investigation by the FTC due to speaking consumers using false or unfounded promises that its infallible system can help consumers find financial freedom, replace their day jobs, and give their families financial independence. According to the FTC, XXXX and its principals, along with the companies behind the scheme ( XXXX XXXX , XXXX, XXXX XXXX , XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX ) have pocketed millions of dollars from consumers while violating numerous laws, including the FTC Act, the Business Opportunity Rule, the Consumer Review Fairness Act, and the FTCs Cooling-Off Rule.

Consumer Complaint: I lost access to my statements in XX/XX/XXXX since my account was closed. I could only log in to pay the balance. In XX/XX/XXXX, I did a calculation and realized that I paid around XXXX and should be around $ XXXX left. That when I found out about charging interest after charging off my debt to collection. I was sure the agent said no interest but it will be late fee if I missed. I did paid XXXX until realized that still {$1400.00} left. They charged me interest all along and after calling in l lost access to it. I thought they were adjusting it. Until an another debt collector sent me email again. Attached {$1600.00} I called Amex to be told that I was late and was charged off 2nd time and they encouraged me to pay to get it over. I walked till the end of this so I did paid ( not sure over the phone or they granted me access back ) XX/XX/XXXX XXXX. XXXX that what he told me and my account was closed. XX/XX/XXXX, I got a credit report 3 months Amex late payment for {$22.00}. They reported {$22.00} after I paid off and they closed my account. I called them and was told to call another department which told me to send a letter to their specialist XXXX days I must wait. I dont know. It was a miracle XXXX of the agent that I called in XXXX decided to let me pay {$22.00}. It was my job to call their department to get this debt over - she told me that. XXXX Amex never once help me or waived any fee. Amex offered me a nice punishment for first late payment by increasing interest from XXXX % to XXXX % and {$28.00} fee in XX/XX/XXXX during pandemic. The second time was better, they didnt increase interest because that was highest already. So they did fine me {$39.00} and decreased my credit limit from XXXX to XXXX and cash advance from XXXX to XXXX while my balance was XXXX. My credit usage was almost XXXX % my credit score went down hill. I only spent {$95.00} for phone and a few time for food each months. There was a month that increase to {$3700.00} from XXXX billing only and called to claim a fraud transactions which they suggested me to call merchant and waited a few day first. Second time, I called in after merchants denied they said it was too late. I asked for relief plan to be told that I must pay minimum payment which was closed to {$1700.00} and I just lost my job. In XXXX, I was XXXX to keep paying without realizing that Amex charged me interest all along after report charge-off. I was sure to be told about paying on time, interest fee, only late fee. So XXXX, I couldnt see any statement had to calculate by hand and realized instead of XXXX I have to pay {$1400.00}. And I lost access to my account. In XXXX, they charge off again {$1700.00} to a debt collector. I paid off and it was over - that was I though. No they report me as late payment for {$22.00}. I spent almost a month to eventually find one agent that let me pay off ( XX/XX/XXXX ). Can I ask Amex about this you send me a letter that I can dispute any transaction in XX/XX/XXXX, but I just got access to my statement after XX/XX/XXXX, will you let me dispute any transactions around that time? The funniest part of all these was first email from debt collector. It was sent the day I was laid off. Amex offered help during pandemic? Or they did after my first late payment they increased from 17 % to 29.99 % but since they offer helped therefore they changed from XXXX to 29.24 % in XX/XX/XXXX during pandemic. 3 years XXXX interest and XXXX for fee. 3 times XXXX day late payment reported 2 times - charged off, XXXX time lying no interest after charge-off. Eventually {$22.00} was reported as 120 day late payment. At least 2 years from now it will show on my record. I recently moved to new apartment that I had to get a co-signer because my XXXX XXXX was bad. In case if you want to know how I get the money to pay you off, I sold everything and borrowed some money from friend and family as well. Thank you for giving me access to my statement on XXXX XXXX after closing my account in XX/XX/XXXX. Thank you for never help me once. You charged all interest, late fee, that secondary account fee, and abuse my XXXX XXXX many time. I paid for my part XXXX. I was late you report to credit bureau. Im fine with that. You charged me all interest until charges-off report, I accepted it. But let me ask you this, interest that you promised wont be charged if I pay on time. No interest, but late fee applied if I failed pay on time. I trusted and paid you without seeing how you calculated it. One day I realized that was wrong. You reported me and charges-off again. Would it be too late if I asked for XXXX relief act, you said reduce interest. You meant from 17 % to 29.99 %? or XXXX late for at least XXXX times during the pandemic? Your agent already let me know about nothing can be credit because of my account was closed. Can you suggest me about remedies or legal advice if I may have a chance to win on fair credit report act?
