Consumer Complaint: I made a payment on various occasions during month of XXXX. I was under the impression that after I made the first payment for the month of XXXX Id be able to apply the subsequent payment for XXXX. However this payment wasn't applied by Amex and I got an exaggerated late fee for XXXX. I never have issues with them and they always respond quickly and take off my late fee. I spoke to an agent in XXXX through the chat and this time they said I had a history and wouldn't wave the predatory fee. I asked to speak to a supervisor and they refused until I repeated myself 3 times. In adition they also charge the annual fee upfront instead of breaking it down into comprehensive monthly payments. I get charged {$100.00} dollars aka 10 % of my XXXX credit limit a year. This is in addition to the 26 % Then someone comes on the chat and states they are supervisor but I have no proof of this. They said in aq patronizing tone that " I shouldnt have a credit card if i dont understand fees. And the agent reitarated that They wont remove it even if the XXXX president tells them to. This is a predatory charge.

Your company has sent me a copy of some bills however that's not what I ask, once again by law 15 U S C 1681b Your company has no permission to report anything using my information. 15 U S C 1681, Section 604, Section 2, State a consumer reporting agency can not furnish a account with out my written instructions. 1. Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I received two American Express XXXX XXXX, one for {$100.00} and one for {$50.00}. I visited the website on the back of the card ( AmexRewardCard.com ) to verify the balances and see if I had to activate the cards. The website showed the cards as activated and the balances were correct. I read the reward card tips for how to use the cards and went to an online merchant, XXXX, to make a purchase. At checkout I used the {$50.00} card for a {$40.00} order and received the message that the " issuing bank declined the charge ''. I tried to use the {$100.00} card in case the problem was the amount but I received the same message. I called the American Express Customer Service number listed on the back of the card and on the website. I explained what happened and the representative said the reason was a " security issue '' and I should order from another merchant. I was annoyed but I waited until I needed to place an order somewhere else to use the card. I tried to place an order on XXXX and was declined again. I called customer service again and they said the same thing as before. I said that wasn't acceptable since there shouldn't be any security issues at XXXX. The representative just kept repeating the same thing with no further information. Again I waited and on XX/XX/XXXX I tried to make purchases at XXXX and XXXX and the purchases seemed to go through. I went to the card website and saw that the purchases were " pending transactions '' but then a couple of days later I was informed by the merchants that the card issuer declined the charge. I again called customer service and got the same answer as the other times. I told her that there wasn't any way that the problem was on all the merchants end. I was told she had no other information. I asked for a supervisor and was told there wasn't any. I asked for another phone number and wasn't given one either. I searched online and couldn't find any other numbers to call so I searched for who I could complain to and was directed here. Both of these cards totaling {$150.00} have expiration dates of XX/XX/XXXX and I stand to be gypped out of this money. I have attached copies of the pages from the Amex reward card website showing these transaction on XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX. I also have the email from XXXX telling me the card was declined.

Consumer Complaint: Company : American Express I have had a credit card with American Express for near XXXX years, apparently because I wasn't using it ( it was a backup card ) they stated they informed me that due to inactivity, the account would be closed. I never received the letter and when I called today asking why my account was showing as closed, they said nothing could be done. They then tried twice, directing me to their applications department to apply again for a new card. So they close the account, tell me I would need a new credit inquiry on my credit report if I'd like to have a card with them. Closing this account has now increased my XXXX XXXX due to losing the line, and lowered my average time on file. A new card would further lower that time. Thus triple impacting my Credit.

THIS HAPPENED AGAIN. I WANT TO GET MY BACKGROUND IN THIS COMPLAINT. I HAVE A XXXX XXXX FROM XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX AND BECAME A XXXX XXXX AND WORKED ON THE CLASSIFIED XXXX XXXX XXXX. Consumer Complaint: I am writing to file a formal complaint against American Express regarding significant issues I have encountered with an American Express e-Gift card that I received from my employer on XX/XX/XXXX XXXX Upon receiving the {$250.00} American Express e-Gift card, I attempted to use it for online purchases at various shopping websites. To my dismay, the card was consistently declined. Perplexed by this issue, I contacted American Express customer support to seek assistance and resolution. The customer service representative informed me that the e-Gift card might not work at all merchants, despite American Express 's assertion on their website that it can be used virtually anywhere. Furthermore, I was advised to add the card to a digital wallet such as XXXX XXXX and attempt an in-store transaction. Unfortunately, even after following these instructions, the card continued to be declined, leaving me unable to utilize any funds from the {$250.00} balance. This ordeal has been both frustrating and inconvenient, and it appears that there may be a systemic issue with the functionality of American Express e-Gift cards. To exacerbate matters, my research online indicates that others have faced similar challenges with American Express e-Gift cards. I believe that this situation goes beyond a mere technical glitch and raises concerns about the transparency and accuracy of information provided by American Express regarding the use of their e-Gift cards. The discrepancy between the advertised versatility of the card and its actual limitations is not only misleading but also a disservice to consumers who rely on accurate product information.

Consumer Complaint: Amex grossly neglects to manage the disputes properly. During my travels, a couple of hotels happened to be providing unacceptable conditions and lacking the advertised amenities, leading to my disputes. Amex consulted with the hotels which used fraudulent strategies ( or just lies ) to invalidate my claims, such as lying that I didn't complain to the front desk and give them the chance to fix it. Amex consistently closed my disputes in responses although I have brought these issues and claims to their attention and repeatedly reopened the claims.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I applied and was approved for a US American Express Bonvoy Business card by phone, specifically to take advantage of a bonus offer of XXXX XXXX XXXX points after spending {$3000.00} in the first three months. During the call I specifically asked the rep : am I eligible for the bonus? He said : " Yes ''. I asked again, are you sure I am eligible? " Yes ''. In XXXX I received the card and began using it. In XXXX, I hit the {$3000.00} total spend. However I did not receive the bonus even after three months of holding the card. So in XXXX, I called AMEX, and they claimed I was not eligible for the bonus, and would have been told that at the time of application. I requested escalation including reviewing that call. Today I called and a supervisor advised me that they had reviewed the call and apparently the agent told me I was not eligible for the bonus. That is a lie, and I even asked them twice, and was applying for the sole purpose of the bonus so would not have accepted and paid the annual fee otherwise. The offer terms and conditions are as follows. While the conditions are vague and apparently allow excplusion for unstated reasons, it does specifically state that the user MUST be informed of ineligibility at the time of application if this is the case, and I assert that I was not. For context, I do have an active and fairly well used personal XXXX XXXX AMEX. However I have NEVER had a XXXX business Amex. I consider this to be an ethical and legal breach and violation of the American Express terms of service. OFFER TERMS You may not be eligible to receive a welcome offer if you have or have had this Card or the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Credit Card from American Express or previous versions of these Cards. You also may not be eligible to receive a welcome offer based on various factors, such as your history with credit card balance transfers, your history as an American Express Card Member, the number of credit cards that you have opened and closed and other factors. If you are not eligible for a welcome offer, we will notify you prior to processing your application so you have the option to withdraw your application. Consumer Complaint: I went to use a {$50.00} amex prepaid gift card for {$20.00} on my XXXX but it said the card is invalid and i checked playsation support and it didnt help and i checked the card balance, info, etc and it still didnt work, so i called and all i got for an answer was the robot voice saying for my protection that purchases wont go through or because the merchant didnt ask for the security code, although the XXXX store does ask for it.
