Consumer Complaint: There were hard queries on my Credit report in XX/XX/XXXX when someone was trying to open account using my details in multiple banks, On looking at those hard queries I reported to Credit Bureau and informed XXXX XXXX and XXXXXXXX XXXX ( as hard queries from these 2 banks were reflecting on my credit report ). I also got my Credit freeze from Credit Bureau on XX/XX/XXXX. But the American Express opened accounts on the request of fraudster using my details/identity in XX/XX/XXXX which I was totally unaware of. I moved to XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX from XXXX and never return to XXXX till this year XXXX XXXX. I have no clue who opened the account and used the cards, I reported it to American Express last year when I saw an alert on my Credit report and again this year about the fraud account. I reported it to XXXX Georgia Police, FBI and FTC a few days back. I raised a dispute about the address and this fraud account with Credit Bureau XXXX and they removed the address and one of the Amex accounts also But bank sent me a letter saying someone called American Express impersonating me and asking for Payment arrangements. I dont know who is talking to bank about the payment arrangements impersonating me. I never called American Express for any Payment arrangements request. I never requested or opened any American Express account after I left the country in XX/XX/XXXX. I don't know who opened the account and used the cards issued by American Express against those fraud account. I will not pay for any fraud account opened using my identity after XX/XX/XXXX which were not operated by me.

Consumer Complaint: Dear Sir/Madams of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau : The complaint I am making is about a American Express credit card. In XXXX XXXX XXXX I bought plane tickets on the delta airlines website and was promised that I would get a {$300.00} credit and some Delta miles if I got a AMEX credit card, which I applied for online. Neither Delta or American Express has given me the miles or the {$300.00} credit on the credit card. I was told that I had a Delta AMEX card before sometime ago ( 5-6 years ) and that I was not eligible. I was never notified by them during the application process. So Delta and American Express owe me {$300.00} and XXXX XXXX that they promised. Ive called AMEX on the phone and Ive also written them, and they are refusing to give me what they promised me. Typical of huge American corporations which take advantage of their consumers, and they do it endlessly and repeatedly.

Consumer Complaint: I recently received an Amex digital gift card from my employer. I attempted to use this card at multiple online vendors ( XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, etc. ) and all transactions failed, citing an issue with the payment method. I read that sometimes this is due to holds placed on the card for more than the balance, so I tried purchasing small items far below the balance on the card ( {$200.00} balance, ~ {$10.00} items ) ; all of these transactions failed as well. Given that the card is for online use only and I can't use it at any online retailer- when the card advertises support anywhere Amex is accepted - I believe that this outcome is not acceptable. In my attempts to speak with customer service, I spent considerable time on the phone being transferred between departments. I ultimately ended up on part of an FAQ section, where I was abruptly told something to the effect of " thank you for calling, goodbye '' by the automated system before being disconnected. This was quite frustrating given the amount of time spent attempting to solve the problem.

Consumer Complaint: I can't remember when, I think it was 4 or 6 months ago I logged into my Amex saving account & it prompted me to change to their new site. Ever since then I have had NOTHING but problems. 1. The list of accounts along with my nick names is missing. Now it only shows you one account number at the top & that's it, there's no longer any list of my accounts. I complained about that on that date as well as the last time I called on XX/XX/XXXX, & now again tonight. They STILL haven't fixed it. 2. Then I went to transfer money from my external bank account to one of my amex savings accounts & the drop down menu doesn't work when I click on it. I tried it on another browser & it didn't work there. I complained about that on XX/XX/XXXX & asked for a manager to call me & nothing, no manager. Same thing happened tonight & the first girl didn't know how to solve the problem. I've wasted hours now trying to work with these incompetent staff, & the last two times I had to get the CSR to do the transfer for me. Tonight there was no transfer done at all. 3. Tonight I got a supervisor XXXX who then proceeds to tell me that I first have to log into the account I want to do the transfer to & then do the transfer. I'm like WHAT??? Are you kidding me? I'm already in the account & there's NO WAY for me to choose which account I want to do the transfer to BECAUSE you still don't have a list of account numbers along with the nick names. I NEVER EVER had any issues with the old site. You clicked on list of accounts, it showed you the ENTIRE LIST with the numbers along with your nick names. THIS SITE doesn't do that. So they now expect me to GUESS at which account I want to transfer to OR click on every single single entry & go thru 8 entries just to guess which account is which & which one I want. I have no way to see the entire list in one SHOT because they REFUSE to fix the problem??? When I was getting upset ( I was NOT swearing ), XXXX then interrupts me & tells me to act professional otherwise she's going to hang up on me. So now Amex is telling me how I have to behave like you are my parent? I don't have the right to get upset after wasting 3 days of my life & countless hours for the last 4-6 months & then I'm threatened because you ruined the website & when you tell me I have to go around in circles just to create a transfer, I'm not allowed to get upset? You are trying to control my behavior & I won't tolerate that XXXX behavior. If you can't handle a customer being upset & appalled that you ruined the site, then you shouldn't be in the job of dealing with customers. On the last site I have been using since 2017, I never had ANY problems. I could do a transfer within 2 minutes or less. I want someone high up in the company. No one knows what's going on there, a manager never called me back the last time, & these bug fixes still haven't been fixed & I once AGAIN can't do a transfer. XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I have been attempting to resolve this issue since the end of XX/XX/XXXX. I sent payment via check near the end of XXXX to American Express for one of my two credit cards with them. The check was returned 2x according to my financial institution before I noticed the error and transferred money to the correct account. XX/XX/XXXX ( third attempt ) my bank confirms that the amount of {$8900.00} ( XX/XX/XXXX Draft XXXX Processed Check - AMEX TYPE : RETRY PYMT ID : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) was removed from my account by American Express XXXX The next American Express statement showed that the previous statement balance was paid in full, as was my intention. XX/XX/XXXX American Express claimed payment was returned and re-applied {$8900.00} to my balance. This amount was not returned to my bank account and I never received any refund. I called several times to complain and open disputes ( many times the disputes were closed without my knowledge ). In XXXX my statement showed a balance of {$17000.00} after I had made complaints about the original amount which had not been settled. This the result of someone adding a duplicate amount of {$8900.00} to my American Express account. I complained about this additional issue, which was reversed on an upcoming statement and listed as an error. When I called to continue to complain about my missing {$8900.00} I was told it was applied to my account by one representative. Them meaning the added {$8900.00}. When I tried to argue this was not the case, they deferred back to the original statement that it could take 30-90 days to settle the dispute. My disputes were continuously closed and my concerns were not addressed. I was repeatedly told it could take up to 30-90 days to resolve the issue. My {$8900.00} is still missing, though it clearly shows American Express withdrew this amount on XX/XX/XXXX. With review of my bank statements up until today 's date, this amount has not been refunded. I recently sent a letter to American Express, with 2 bank statements, in hopes this would reach someone in the accounting office who will know what they are doing and who can review my account so they can resolve my concerns. I am not expecting them to attend to my issue as this has been the case the last 5+ months. My credit has suffered due to the reported overbalance back in XXXX ( dropped XXXX points ) and the continued balance on my account, which shouldn't be there. I simply ask that American Express apply the money they took from me in XXXX and apply it to my balance or refund me the amount so I can then re-issue payment to settle my balance. I have a folder filled with correspondances, statements and now an invoice from my lawyer whom I attempted to consult about this issue. I appreciate any help with this matter and only reach out as I feel I have exhausted all other options with this company.

Consumer Complaint: I have an AmEx gift card, which is being declined despite having verified that the balance on the card is much larger than the cost I'm trying to process on it. I tried to get through to customer service, but there's no great way to do that. Once you finally get through to a person, they explain that you can use this card online anywhere! except places that require a billing address be entered for your payment info, since there is no billing address attached to the card, and AmEx can't attach one. And I don't know anywhere online that doesn't make you provide the billing address.
