Consumer Complaint: After receiving an American Express E-Gift Card from my employer, I attempted to go online to purchase some items. According to the instructions on the email for the gift card, it states that in order to shop online you must select " Credit '' as the payment method ( Do not select " Gift Card ''. It goes on to state that in the payment method section, to enter the card details as you would a credit card and for the billing address, fill in your name and address. I followed the instructions exactly as stated on four ( 4 ) separate e-commerce sites such as XXXX XXXX and XXXX and the card/purchase would not go through. I twice contacted the American Express Gift Card Customer Service line on Thursday, XX/XX/XXXX only to be told both times that 'the funds are being protected ' and that I should try other websites until I find one that accepts the card. Needless to say that is unacceptable. If American Express is selling a banking product/gift card that is supposedly for use anywhere that accepts the AmEx logo, which these website do, then the resolution should not have been to tell me to continually search websites until one goes through. What is unusual is that for each attempt on a website, a {$.00} pending charge is executed. Meaning that there must be some connection between the webpage server and the AmEx server but the actual cost of the purchase does not go through with a message stating something went wrong and to use another card.

Bank XXXX XXXX, American Express, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX Bank Delaware XXXX department of education XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX, XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX IS BEING REPORTED INCORRECTLY. ( Please see attached reports for account numbers ) After severe research and Accounting. I am a living woman. And need these matters resolve immediately. According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act 15 USC 1681 section 602 a states " There is a need to ensure that consumer reporting agencies exercise their grave. responsibilities with fairness, impartiality, and a respect for the consumers right to privacy. '' XXXX and XXXX are consumer reporting agencies, and I am the XXXX. I have the right to make sure my private information isn't shared which is backed by 15 USC 6801 which states It is the policy of the Congress that each financial institution has an affirmative and continuing obligation to respect the privacy of its customers and to protect the security and confidentiality of those customers nonpublic personal information. '' ( Furnisher of information to credit agencies ) is a financial institution by definition under that title. 15 USC 1681 section 604 a section 2 states that " In general Subject to subsection ( c ), any consumer reporting agency may furnish a consumer report under the following circumstances and no other : in accordance with the written instructions of the consumer to whom it relates. '' ( Furnisher of information to credit agencies ) the financial institution and the Consumer reporting agencies XXXX and XXXX do not have my consent to furnish this information and they surely do not have my written consent. Any and all consent to XXXX, XXXX, ( Furnisher of information to credit agencies ) whether it be verbal, non-verbal, written, implied or otherwise is revoked. XXXX XXXX XXXX ( b ) ( c ) states that " A financial institution XXXX not disclose nonpublic personal information to a nonaffiliated third party unless the consumer is given an explanation of how the consumer can exercise that nondisclosure option. '' ( Furnisher of information to credit agencies ) Never informed me of my right to exercise my nondisclosure option. Not only that 15 USC 1681C ( a ) ( 5 ) states '' Except as authorized under subsection ( b ), no consumer reporting agency may make any consumer report containing any of the following items of information Any other adverse item of information, other than records of convictions of crimes which antedates the report by more than seven years. '' This account is an adverse item they are reporting again without my permission which is against the law. 15 U.S. Code 1681s2 ( A ) ( 1 ) A states " A person shall not furnish any information relating to a consumer to any consumer reporting agency if the person knows or has reasonable cause to believe that the information is inaccurate. 15 U.S. Code 1681e states '' Every consumer reporting agency shall maintain reasonable procedures designed to avoid violations of section 1681c of this title and to limit the furnishing of consumer reports to the purposes listed under section 1681b of this title. XXXX and XXXX are not maintaining reasonable procedures. Also 12 CFR 1016.7 states that " A consumer may exercise the right to opt out at any time. '' I am opting out of your reporting. services.

Consumer Complaint: An American Express Account " XXXX '' in has been wrongfully added to my credit report affecting my XXXX XXXX on both XXXX and XXXX credit reports. I am not the owner of this account, and this was added in my name illegally and is entirely inaccurate. This is defaming my name and impacting my right to credit as well as voilating the consumer protections act and fair XXXX credit reporting act since this is fraudulent reporting. The only way for this wrong to be corrected is for this entire account and all of its history to be removed from my credit profile immediately. I have never been personally liable for any american express credit card in my life. Please report this, rectify it completely, and stop this fraud from taking place.

Segment 604 A Part 2, I have the right to protection and a buyer revealing office can't outfit a record without my writtien instructions.

AMEX is refusing transactions with so many vendors, both online and in person, the card is a ripoff and American Express is stealing the funds on it. This situation is unbelievable and irresponsible on the part of AMEX.

Consumer Complaint: I tried to make a purchase at a gas station for gas, got declined, checked online for balance and it showed pending gas station charge eventhough on the pad it said declined and embarrassed me in front of everyone when I tried and failed a second time. Called amex and they said wait a few days and itll be fine and I can use it. Checked a few days later and pending transaction was gone but I tried to use it for XXXX and it failed. Soon after that now website for amex card is saying unexpected error and wont let me check balance. I just want my {$25.00} at this point this is ridiculous. I dont want this giftcard I want cash in hand.
