Consumer Complaint: I had an American Express ( Amex ) card member for 30 years. I received a letter from Amex that it had increased my credit limit and was sending a replacement card for one due to expire XX/XX/22. The replacement card did not arrive 10 days before expiration. I advised Amex representative that the card usually arrives sooner and recommended they cancel the replacement. No replacement card arrived one day before the card was due to expire and I called Amex again. I was told the replacement card was not canceled but my Amex account was canceled. Amex rep called to reinstate my account and was told I was turned down by the credit agency, XXXX, whose ads imply one should use its bank to " boost '' one 's credit score. This company also never sent a letter to me outlining one 's rights. XXXX recommended that Amex make a correction to my record which states I missed 4 months of payments for a replacement card I never received. Iam seeking correction of my credit record and reinstatement of my account. The only significant issue with my record took place when I was XXXX due to a XXXX XXXX and missed XXXX car payments which I promptly paid upon discharge.

Consumer Complaint: Amex Prepaid Gift card not able to be used. Called XXXX times and said the the card available balance was there and saw that my transactions was declined multiple times ( provided no reason ). Asked me to continue to " TRY '' and use it other stores that accept American Express. Keep getting declined so called again and said I can submit a refund and it will take XXXX weeks. The card was a gift so the refund goes back to the purchaser and not the recipient of the gift card. Customer service from XXXX is of no help.

Consumer Complaint: I had a payment due of {$46.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. I forgot about it because this isn't the card I use for regular charges. I got an email reminder on XX/XX/XXXX and made the payment on that day. They charged me {$32.00} in late fees and interest. When I called to ask them to remove the charge, they refused. I understand a small fee for a slightly late payment, but they are over 70 % of the original charge in fees for being three days late. I think that's obscene.

Consumer Complaint: I purchased XXXX flight tickets on American Express Travel on XXXX. 2 months later my plans changed, I went on the website and it said the tickets are returnable for a full credit with XXXX XXXX. I returned the ticket but then couldn't buy a new ones unless I called American Express customer service. Upon speaking with them, they kept referencing my ticket policy which I was not aware of nor was I provided with at any time. I couldn't use my credit to buy tickets from XXXX as they insisted it's American Express who holds my credit. American Express Travel wouldn't let me buy tickets from XXXX because the flights I chose were operated by other carriers yet they were listed on XXXX as flights with the company by XXXX After XXXX hours on the phone I was informed that if I don't redeem my credit by midnight I would lose it!!! That was also told to me by " coincidence '' as the customer service agent was referencing the policies which I was not provided at any time when I purchased the tickets nor when I returned them through the website nor ever. Also the alternative tickets showed online for a price but I had to buy them through Amex at an even higher rate because they'd do a buy up. When I asked what that meant I wasn't given information. I was forced to pay an excessive amount so as to not lose my credit and they ruined my travel plans with their opaque malicious undisclosed policies! nowhere on my itinerary nor when I cancelled did it say I have to pay a buy up fee, or that the refund credit would only be available on select flights. it simply said this ticket is returnable for a FULL CREDIT WITH XXXX! This was not the case. I demand a refund of my points stolen from me by American Express through a malicious treatment consisting of lack of disclosure of policies. Even when I requested to be provided with the policies referenced, it was denied. SHAME on XXXX with their intentional predatory practices of withholding information and stealing over XXXX points in this transaction! Also for eating up XXXX hours of my Saturday!!!!!!!!!! XXXX hours on the phone! Despicable
