Consumer Complaint: I opened an XXXX XXXX XXXX card, the welcome bonus was XXXX XXXX points if I spent XXXX or more in 3 months. I fulfilled that roughly a month ago ( XXXX ), and XXXX of the spending was federal tax payment. I didn't get the bonus about a month ( XXXX ) after the fulfillment, I contacted Amex. They told me the welcome bonus attached with my card and I had an estimated charge of {$5600.00}. I thought I had fulfilled the spending requirements. After a few days I still didn't get the bonus and I contacted again. This time the agent told me my tax payment doesn't count as qualified spending, that's the reason I haven't got my bonus. I doubt this since I don't see this is mentioned in their service terms and I can see that many cases online showed that it does qualify. Examples : https : XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I have sent the addendum for check stop twice. The first I sent it I was told I had to verify with some third party that failed. I was then told I can just resend the form again without my new address on there. I requested the check be sent to the mailing address the company has on file XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX # XXXX XXXX XXXX IL XXXX as I still have family there and I can still get mail there. I have been going back and forth with this company many times regarding my hard earned money that they are NOT paying me interest on. I would love to have money back to me as they are just holding my funds without giving it to me. It has been a hassle and I have tried to take every revenue possible to get my money from this scandalous company. I am putting in another complaint for the same money I have been trying to receive since the summer. Just in case the company states they did not get the fax I sent I am attaching it to this complaint and hopefully I can receive my money at the address stated above. I have been trying to nice and patient as I know it is a big company and they deal with a lot of calls, but when I call I am being told there is no record of my account which is a bit weird to me. The XXXX XXXX I will be taking is seeking a lawyer to retrieve my funds and suing the company for distress and financial abuse.

Consumer Complaint: My parents bought me an American Express gift card of XXXX dollars. I have tried to use this card for both online and physical vendors but it is declined everywhere. The vendors include XXXX, XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX. The gift card is useless for me and I should be refunded the money. They also deducted an XXXX charge that never went through. American Express gift card doesnt refund any money. I tried asking them to provide a list of vendors that take the card, but they didnt. Also its deceptive practice to sell a gift card that can not be used by a majority of reputable vendors.

Consumer Complaint: I am writing to file a formal complaint against American Express regarding the Delta Gold Card promotion that I participated in. I believe there has been a failure on the part of American Express to fulfill the promised promotional offer. On XXXX, I applied for the American Express Delta Gold Card with the understanding that, upon spending {$2000.00} within the first 6 months, I would be entitled to receive XXXX bonus miles and {$300.00} cash back if I made a XXXX purchase in the first 6 months. I am writing to express my dissatisfaction and frustration as, despite meeting the spending requirement promptly, I have not received the promised bonus miles and cash back. I made purchases, particularly airline tickets through delta, an I have well exceeding the required {$2000.00} within the specified timeframe. Despite my efforts to resolve this matter by contacting American Express customer service on multiple occasions, the issue remains unresolved. I have spoken to numerous agents, and each time I am assured that the bonus miles and cash back will appear on my next statement. Unfortunately, this has not been the case, causing significant inconvenience and frustration. In my most recent conversation with an American Express agent, I was offered an additional XXXX bonus miles as a gesture of goodwill while I wait for the original offer to be fulfilled. While I appreciate this gesture, it does not address the core issue, and the delay in receiving the promised miles and cash back has adversely affected my travel plans, specifically my XXXX trip with my family.

Consumer Complaint: An Amex gift card was purchased for me. I can not use it anyplace. It's rejected everywhere. I've tried a variety of retailers- XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, and other smaller retailers. I'm trying to make purchases for less than {$100.00} and I have verified that there is {$460.00} on the card. The card is listed as active and available for use. I've made sure to enter the details correctly, including the XXXX CV. I called customer service- Amex phone representatives deny that there is a problem with the card and tell me that I should be able to use it anyplace Amex is accepted. This is absolutely not true. I have experience using XXXX gift cards and am accustomed to the gift card system- I am making purchases less than the value of the card, on reputable sites, and I am entering the information correctly. These Amex cards simply do not work, anywhere. Customer service is not responsive, just denying that there is an issue. Their own website https : //balance.amexgiftcard.com/ # /help says : " You can use your American Express Gift Card virtually anywhere American Express Cards are accepted within the United States and XXXX XXXX XXXX, except the Gift Card may not be used for recurring billing or at ATMs. You can use your American Express eGift Card with any United States-based online, phone, or mail-order merchants wherever American Express Cards are accepted . Please remember, you will only be able to shop with merchants in the United States and XXXX XXXX XXXX. Your eGift Card can not be used for transactions requiring a physical card. '' This is absolutely not true. The cards are accepted nowhere. The original value of the card was {$500.00}. I have XXXX pending transaction for {$34.00}, that will possibly be ultimately be declined. The rest of the expenses are for {$0.00} several time each, that XXXX took as a hold when I tried to use the card to pay my bills there. I included screenshots of the card 's history from the Amex website, and a screenshot of the XXXX website after one of my payments was declined. I have tried the card at a variety of different retailers. I was very careful to follow instructions. The purchase amounts were much smaller than the balance on my card, I entered the information correctly and I entered my address in the 'billing ' field as directed.

Consumer Complaint: I set up an auto payment with my account approximately XXXX weeks ago in the amount of {$150.00} a month. I had {$1600.00} debited from my checking account on XX/XX/2023. When I set up the auto pay it was approved as accepted. I was then under the impression that {$150.00} would be deducted from my payment account. I reached out to Amex and was told the minimum amount due is deducted regardless of what payment you set up even if approved under other amount through autopay. They said its part of the terms and conditions but the terms and conditions contradict what I agreed to pay and what was accepted. I thought my submission of what the autopay approved would reflect what I agreed to pay.
