I am deeply concerned about potential violations of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act ( ECOA ), the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), and the unauthorized use of my Social Security information, which may implicate provisions of the Social Security Act. Under the ECOA, discrimination in credit decisions based on certain factors is strictly prohibited. Furthermore, in accordance with 15 USC 1611 whoever willfully and knowingly gives false or inaccurate information shall be fined not more than {$5000.00} or imprisoned not more than one year or both. American Express advertisement stated that by applying that my credit would NOT be affected by submitting the application later to find out I have ( 2 ) verified soft inquiries on my credit report for both dates and contacted their customer service line and they referenced my application as a " New Account '' which means my credit was in fact pulled for the purposes of obtaining a credit line of which I was wrongfully denied and tricked by misleading advertisement in the process. If my Social Security information was used without my permission or if false advertising practices were involved, I want to bring to your attention that this could be in violation of the Social Security Act. Considering the gravity of these potential violations, I am seeking a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the credit denial and the unauthorized use of my Social Security information. If evidence of discrimination, unauthorized credit pulls, or false advertising is found, I expect appropriate action to be taken to rectify the situation and uphold fair lending practices. Please provide me with the necessary information to initiate this process and keep me informed of the steps taken to address my concerns. Consumer Complaint: I was given an American Express XXXX card. After reading the terms and conditions for use of the card at https XXXX XXXX, I declined to be bound by them. According to the terms, " By using the XXXX XXXX XXXX, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in their entirety. Should you wish not to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in their entirety you must, prior to using the XXXX XXXX XXXX, request and obtain a refund of the value of the XXXX XXXX XXXX by calling XXXX. They further told me that the refund ( that they refused to issue ) would go to the purchaser, not to me, which conflicts with, " The terms you and your refer to the person who receives or uses the XXXX XXXX XXXX. Consumer Complaint: Good evening, This letter concerns the transaction on XX/XX/2023, from XXXX in the amount of {$310.00}. The reason for disputing this transaction is that the hotel room was canceled due to the unsatisfactory condition of the room. Both rooms smelled as if someone had urinated everywhere. I canceled my stay at the front desk and was informed that I would receive reimbursement within 7-10 business days. As that timeframe had elapsed, I disputed the transaction through American Express. Initially, I received a credit, but it was later revoked. I reopened the dispute, contacted XXXX, and have video recording proof that XXXX will reimburse me. However, they lied about that, and American Express closed the dispute again, stating I didnt have pictures or didnt cancel the room before checking in. How can a person check the room before checking in with the hotel? This doesnt seem reasonable or possible unless there is a policy by American Express and XXXX that customers are unaware of. I reached out to XXXX again and was promised reimbursement once I provided the following information : Documents needed : For bank/credit card statements, please ensure the following details are visible : The cardholder 's name The banks logo The last 4 digits of the credit card number The merchants name The transaction date, amount, and currency I provided the required information, and XXXX claimed they couldnt reimburse me because they never received any form of payment from me. If I can be of any assistance with this issue please let me know. This is around my fourth time doing this dispute and would like to receive my refund as I was promised.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/23 I was checking into a flight at the Delta Airlines Counter. The Agent assisting me noted the Delta Sky Miles American Express card I was using and told me that if I upgraded to the Delta Sky Miles Gold American Express Card I would receive XXXX miles on Delta. I normally would not sign up for a card with an Annual Fee but agreed for the XXXX miles - the Delta Agent signed me up for the card. I had not yet received the miles and contacted American Express on XX/XX/23 via Chat. I worked with an Agent and then their Manager and was told by both that I was not eligible for the miles because I was already an American Express customer when I signed up for the Gold card. The Agent representing and selling their cards knew that I was already a card holder when he presented the offer to me. I have been using this card that I signed up for specifically for this bonus that I was offered and will not be receiving. I was informed there was not another level of escalation to resolve this issue.

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Application denied
Consumer Complaint: RE : XXXX XXXX XXXX/ XX/XX/XXXX / XXXX. i, the consumer, XXXX XXXX XXXX, applied for an American Express credit card on XX/XX/XXXX, and was denied, As evidenced on my consumer credit report. This is the second complaint due to American Express failing to send an adverse action letter for the initial denial as well as American Express failing to respond to the first CFPB complaint besides the generic response given to CFPB. I made a deposit into American Express account receivable by way of an application. I applied my private interest to your blank application and i never received the guaranteed credits. 12 USC 412 states the application must return the cash. I behest cash in the form of credit access. Credit is a right granted. The application is where I granted it. Denying access to my consumer credit is not only discrimination, but also appears to be a securities scheme and artifice, false advertising, false and deceptive trade practices, sabotage, a mockery of honest services, and several ethics violations. American Express is registered with the Secretary of State and, thus is subject to adhering to Corporate Governance Laws and Regulations, Federal Rules and Civil Procedures, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Internal Revenue Service, all applicable United States Codes and Statues at Large of the United States Corporation 28 USC 3002 ( 15 ). This is the second complaint filed against American Express regarding their apparent and blatant securities fraud, identity theft, and several ethics violations. American Express also appears to violate the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, the Consumer Credit Protection Act, as well as : 15 U.S. Code 1681 ( b ) Reasonable Procedures ( Pub. L. 90321, title VI, 602, as added Pub. L. 91508, title VI, 601, Oct. 26, 1970, 84 Stat. 1128. ) and 18 U.S. Code 1951 - The Hobbs Act ( June 25, 1948, ch. 645, 62 Stat. 793 ; Pub. L. 103322, title XXXIII, 330016 ( 1 ) ( L ), Sept. 13, 1994, 108 Stat. 2147. ) Since American Express has expressly denied me my creditworthiness due to its own elusive definition and explanation of who the original issuer of all source value credit is, as well as no institution being able to lend or extend credit per 12 USC 1431 and Volume 77 of the 73rd Congressional Session, specifically pages 58, 59, 60, 73, and 758, i behest American Express to retract, return, and refund my over-the-counter security created by my application of credit, according to Federal Rules and Civil Procedures 1002, to ensure American Express is remaining in honor and not collecting unauthorized dividends on fraudulent security that American Express deemed not credit worthy. This also appears to be a tortious interference with contractual relations, violating 18 U.S. Code 1951 - Interference with commerce by threats or violence ( June 25, 1948, ch. 645, 62 Stat. 793 ; Pub. L. 103322, title XXXIII, 330016 ( 1 ) ( L ), Sept. 13, 1994, 108 Stat. 2147. ) as well as a breach of contract. American Express made an offer, making them the debtor, i, the consumer accepted the offer, making me the creditor, and returned it with consideration and value ( my personal private property ) allowing American Express to benefit while i have yet to receive any performance of their offer due to a denial.

Consumer Complaint: Hello American Express Agents, As uploaded is the court documents. This will be going to Court on the XX/XX/XXXX. I implore you to wait on the dispute until the Judge has made a decision on this matter. Ive provided ample if not a exceedingly large list of why these are fraudulent charges. I find it quite amazing that you are still holding out. To highlight the facts : We had a verbal agreement that I would be charged {$5000.00} for the operation, they took my personal belonging including my credit card. They would not give me a fit to fly letter unless I had the XXXX ( which after speaking to council was illegal ) They charged my credit card 3 times ( which is weird, with 3 very different signatures ) at the hospital without me knowing I had to have a second XXXX here in the US to fix the work they did in XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, along with the supporting equipment where the crutches broke in the airport The largest point of Fraud is that they charged my Insurance Company for the XXXX and actually had it at a different cost then they charged my Amex. This is such a damning piece of information that I am not sure why they are not seeing the discrepancies and the fact they got additional money for free. The fact they can charge me 3 times without my consent, we had a verbal agreement, I had to have the XXXX re-done and the doctor even said they used things they shouldnt have and you are saying this isnt fraud. I dont know what is. I am not sure if you can provide counter evidence to each fact that I outlined or you are just saying. We dont think its fraud, therefore too bad. Regardless this will all be presented infront of a judge on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX for judgement. Thanks, XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I have a {$300.00} prepaid American Express card that I am unable to use. I received it from my work and they said to contact American Express directly. I have contacted American Express and they are unable to locate the card or provide the balance. They had no direction for me. When attempting to use at a store, the card doesn't register - as if the numbers don't work. When attempting to use online, the card shows invalid. I have called retailers and they are unable to process a purchase. The card is not expired.

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Card opened without my consent or knowledge
Consumer Complaint: I applied for a card online and received a confirmation of application. American Express emailed me the notice attached to this complaint which did not contain the terms of the agreement, a link to details, or anything of the sort. I clicked the link with the expectation that this would lead me to an offer details page, terms of the credit card agreement, or similar. Instead, after clicking the link it just stated that everything is complete and my credit card is on the way. I contacted the company and they responded that all they could do is cancel the card. Meanwhile, I have a hit on my credit report, etc. I found their practice to be highly deceptive, without clear disclosures of what I was signing up for.
