Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: I have banked with Wells Fargo, ( when they were XXXX ) for at least 40 years until XX/XX/year>. On XXXX XXXX, my Identity was stolen in California when my daughters truck was broken into. I immediately went to Wells Fargo an changed my accounts. I had quiet a few disputes enter due to my Identity seriously compromised. My social security, my birthdate, my address, my email, my zip code, my credit cards and my entire life 's comfort zone. Fast-forward to XX/XX/XXXX when I deposited XXXX XXXX dollar bills into the ATM machine at my bank in XXXX, Fl. The ATM spit out XXXX XXXX dollar bills and wanted to confirm XXXX dollars in which I did since I had XXXX dollars in my hand. I received my receipt for the XXXX and then proceeded to make another trans action for the XXXX to be deposited. When doing so I confirmed the XXXX to be deposited and was returned my debt card but no receipt. I looked at the screen and it said OUT OF SERVICE. Wells Fargo never believed me and basically called me a liar and called me a thief. So I wrote a complaint to CFTB and Wells still kept my XXXX dollars. Fast-forward to XXXX XXXX, while on vacation, to be with my daughter in XXXX XXXX Wells Fargo decide that I was too much of a risk to them and CLOSED my account. Now I was told on the phone that I needed to go to a Wells Fargo and withdrawal my monies and they would give me a cashiers check and to go to another bank and open a checking account. I am now forced to figure out whose was a auto pay which companies have bill pay and notify all my direct depositor that my account has been deleted at Wells Fargo. So I now have to wait on my pay check from XXXX XXXX where I work to default and sent back to them and mail to my home, which could take anywhere from 10-15 days. Wells Fargo locked me out of all of my account and there no way to retrieve any of my information that I had set up for 40 years now. Plus my Identity is still compromised and Wells XXXX XXXX and all of the fraud on my accounts were all pending plus they still took my XXXX dollars. How can they get away with this egregious act to a loyal customer and tell me that I am a risk. I asked the teller if the bank does this a lot to other and she told me that I was the first. I am so overwhelmed with this position that Wells Fargo has left me in that all I do is cry and get on the phone and wait to speak to a human being.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX I received my order from XXXX XXXX. It was made incorrectly so I reached out to support for a resolution. They refunded my whole order back to my debit card and I was told it should appear in my account in a few days but it was already processed so its just pending for my bank. I reached out to my bank the next day to ask if I had any pending returns to my account from XXXX XXXX and they told me no. They dont see no refund issued by that merchant so I reached back out to XXXX XXXX and they told me that is incorrect they processed the refund on their end so there must be a problem on the banks end. I would just like to make sure I get the refund I was already promised.

Subissue: Account information incorrect
Consumer Complaint: I have a Wells Fargo Autograph credit card ( account number is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ). After the close of the previous statement ( XX/XX/XXXX ), I had a statement balance of {$3100.00}. I made payments to bring the account balance to {$0.00} prior to the close of the most recent statement date ( XX/XX/XXXX ). Wells Fargo never reported to XXXX after the XX/XX/XXXX statement that the account balance is now {$0.00}, so my XXXX credit report continued to show a balance of {$3100.00}. I submit a dispute on the noted Wells Fargo account through XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX contacted Wells Fargo referencing the dispute, and Wells Fargo responded saying that i still have an account balance of {$3100.00}, which is incorrect. As a result of Wells Fargo incorrectly reporting my account balance to XXXX two separate times, i am submitting this complaint regarding my Wells Fargo Autograph credit card account.

Issue: Opening an account
Subissue: Didn't receive terms that were advertised
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/, I opened a premier checking and Way2Save savings accounts at Wells Fargo Bank at a branch with a banker. I opened both accounts with promotional offers. I complied with the terms of both offers, but only received the bonus associated with the checking account. I contacted customer service at Wells Fargo to determine why my savings account bonus did not post ; they informed me that the banker did not enter the saving account bonus offer code at the time the account was opened. When the banker opened my account, he indicated that he was only able to enter one promotional offer on his system at the time of application but that he would have his back office manually apply the second offer to my account. The offer that has not been fulfilled is for a {$520.00} bonus payment 30 days after all offer conditions have been met. The offer was conditioned on a deposit of {$25000.00} or more into the savings account by day 30 after enrolling in the offer ( which I did on XX/XX/XXXX ) and maintained at least {$25000.00} in the account for 90 days thereafter. I deposited {$25000.00} into the savings account on XX/XX/XXXX and withdrew {$24000.00} on XX/XX/. Thereafter, I have maintained a balance in excess of {$300.00} in the saving account. I would like for the bank to honor the bonus offer, as its banker assured me that the offer would be tied to my account.

Consumer Complaint: My Complaint FILED WITH CONSUMER FINANCIAL PROTECTION BUREAU First of all, I have made it perfectly clear that you are not to contact me ever by phone. I have also, in writing, stated if you continue to contact me by phone, leaving me a message at my place of work to call you back, I will sue you for harassment. I have said in writing, you always call me during my business work hours Monday through Friday between XXXX to XXXX and I can not answer your calls during these times. I have stated in writing, you can only reach me in writing and mail it to XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX or by email : XXXX. I have many times attempted to return your call, XXXX XXXX, and you never answer your phone as it goes straight to voice mail. At which point I must leave you a voice mail message and at which point you end up calling me back during my work hours and I can not answer your call. I always return your call during your business hours of Monday through Friday, XXXX to XXXX, but I get voice mail only. You, XXXX XXXX, or whomever at Wells Fargo, need to read over the Contract Agreement as it is very clear that I have a 10 days period beyond the due date of the XXXX of every month without any fees to be added, late or extra interest, it is XXXX XXXX, zip nothing! Wells Fargo, you take my entire monthly payment and apply all its to interest only just about every month! Also, you can also stop referring to the XXXX period as courtesy period. You are just making up language to make yourselves look good. XXXX XXXX, I have left you many messages in your voice mail telling you not to call me. Only contact me in writing, but you continue to harass me at my place of work and refuse to correct this problem and you refuse to put anything in writing as I have requested. XXXX XXXX, you will be sued personally for harassment as well as Wells Fargo. Lawyer up! I strongly suggest you get your act together and resolve this problem immediately! Monthly payment statement should never go out before the XXXX period has been granted and you still have not made it clear as to why you continue to send out the monthly statement XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX after the due date with an emphatic XXXX period to be honored which is plainly written in our Contract Agreement. You express that there are no errors found in the processing of each of my monthly payments, if that were so, my balance would show a correct principal balance and it does in fact show there is more due than is actual due on the statement. So why are you in such a rush to send out the monthly statement? If you sent out the statement after the XXXX period has passed, then the statement would reflect the current monthly payment process correctly and only show the next months payment is due instead of asking for two payments when the one has already been made and showing you have put my entire monthly payment towards interest only for the prior month. This happens every month until someone finally applies one payment to the principal ; however, this does not in any way fix the balance to a correct balance! So, answer my questions on your next response and do it through CFPB, NO phone calls! Company 's Response We have outlined the additional payments made to the account, and are able to confirm no error has occurred. Here are important account details we'd like you to know. The account is due for the XX/XX/XXXX, payment, and we have produced a statement showing the upcoming XX/XX/XXXX, payment as well. ME : If you see no errors, why is my statement showing the same principal balance for XXXX to XXXX XXXX in a row when I have not missed one payment nor have I been late? The courtesy period for the account- letter, dated XX/XX/XXXX, from XXXX XXXX XXXX : In your inquiry you have expressed concerns about the courtesy period communicated on your monthly statement. Please be advised, you have 10 days to satisfy your monthly payment prior to a late fee being assessed. The monthly statements advise when the courtesy period will expire, and advises the account may be subject to a late fee. Below is a summary of the statement information you provided : The XX/XX/XXXX, statement advised after XX/XX/XXXX, a late fee may be assessed. This information is accurate, as the payment due date is XX/XX/XXXX, and the account could receive a late fee if the payment was not applied to the account within 10 days. This was not a reduction of the courtesy period, as the account was subject to a late fee if payment was not received by XX/XX/XXXX. Beginning with XX/XX/XXXX, the statements began to reflect that on or after the XXXX of the month, late fees XXXX apply. This does not mean that a late fee will be assessed, as long as payment is received within the grace period provided. The statement is advising that a late fee XXXX be assessed after the XXXX of the month, if payment is not received on time. XXXX : I have a receipt for payment of XX/XX/XXXX. I made that payment today XX/XX/XXXX and it is within the XXXX period allowed for me to make it without a late fee applied or a penalty by you taking my full payment and applying it to interest only. You are contradicting yourself by stating I do have a XXXX period after the due date of the XXXX, but if my payment is made during the XXXX period, you consider it has not been made and notify me that there are two payments due for the following month. You are not honoring the XXXX period when you send out the statement before the XXXX period is up ; therefore, showing no current monthly payment has been made and processed. You are also not honoring the XXXX period when you apply the entire payment of {$770.00} to interest only and give me nothing towards the principal. In one hand you say I have a XXXX period and the account is fine but in the other hand you are not acknowledging, honoring, or allowing me the XXXX period and you are penalizing me when I use this period by taking the entire payment and applying it to the interest only. The XXXX XXXX does not state anywhere that you are allowed to apply my entire payment to interest only, you have not earned any more interest than the amount due for the current month. I have never skipped XXXX payment and I am always current. This is a contradiction within your own statement. You can not have it both ways. So, which is it? Follow the contract agreement or breach of the contract? SEND MY STATEMENT OUT XXXX XXXX AFTER THE DUE DATE, NOT XXXX DAYS AFTER THE XXXX! DO NOT CALL ME AGAIN! TEXT ME A MESSAGE OR WRITE ME A LETTER or post it here.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I received an email regarding unusual activity on my card in the amount of {$1000.00} ( XXXX in XXXX, Connecticut ). I received another email XX/XX/2023 that my credit card was turned off. I then reviewed my account and saw 8 pending transactions to XXXX XXXX ( XXXX, Washington ) for the amount of {$16000.00}. I then immediately contacted Wells Fargo to report these as fraudulent charges and to cancel the transactions and not to remove the funds from my account. Wells Fargo did investigate these fraudulent charges and issued me a temporary credit but on XX/XX/2023 the charges were placed back on my account. I contacted Wells Fargo and was informed that these were a direct point of sale and that I would be held responsible for these charges. The credit card that was used was a new card that was mailed but I never physically received this card. I reside in XXXX Florida and had just XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX on XX/XX/XXXX, I was on XXXX XXXX and unable to travel to these locations. I was at a XXXX. XXXX on XX/XX/2023 in Florida at the time of the first fraudulent charge. I have filed a police report and contacted XXXX, Washington police department that said this is an ongoing issue with XXXX XXXX. I want these charged removed because I didnt authorize them and reported them while pending still and said to not let the transactions go through. My card was over charged thousands of dollars and should have been red flagged with all these charges being done with such high amounts over and over again. Wells Fargo should not have allowed my account to be overdrawn especially that much money and also allowed them to do over 8 transactions at one location and not notice the scam taking place. I have tons of messages showing someone has cyber attacked me and stolen my information as well as sold it at the time of fraud. My credit score has been effected and Ive been a loyal customer to Wells Fargo since it was XXXX over 15 years. This is extremely upsetting that Ive had to battle them over charges I know I didnt make and reported while still pending.
