Issue: Struggling to pay mortgage
Subissue: Applying for or obtaining a modification, forbearance plan, short sale, or deed-in-li
Consumer Complaint: I had a mortgage with Wells Fargo that I was struggling to pay the mortgage and tried repeatedly to modify the mortgage and was denied without any just cause. I ended up loosing the home and it got forclosed. I see there was a settlement for the victims and am curious if I qualify for that fund. Wells Fargo recently sent me a check for {$200.00} and said during the modification there might have been errors and the money was for the trouble. That seems like a horrible resolution for loosing my home with probally has increase in value by a XXXX dollars since it was forclosed upon.

Issue: Applying for a mortgage or refinancing an existing mortgage
Subissue: Application denials
Consumer Complaint: We applied for a refi through wellsfargo because they sent us a special invitation to apply on XX/XX/XXXX. The whole process was extremely slow ( until XX/XX/XXXX ), our loan team wasn't helpful and didn't know what was needed and most importantly the Underwriter took sometimes a week to review our application for one document. We were asked for an extreme amount of documents, underwriting didnt create task about needed documents/clarification for a credit dispute on credit report, everything was against my husband who disclosed is a minority business owner. We were told if we fixed the credit dispute then we would be approved, after we repulled credit 2nd time ( we allowed due to this misinformation and now have a 2nd hard pull affecting our credit for no reason ) then were denied on XX/XX/XXXX because of the credit dispute we fixed, it says late payment but it was the XXXX case that we paid and had on our loan application when we got approved for our inital mortage through wellsfargo last year ( XX/XX/XXXX ) so it wasnt a valid reason ( at first because no one could tell me why we were denied ( no one called or communicated, I found out by logging into my account ) and the denial letter came with that reason even though we fixed it and were supposedly good ). Then they said it was because my husband 's credit score was XXXX and the cut off was XXXX ( I explained that because he is an immagrant he doesn't have as long of a credit history as someone who was born here and due to them taking 3 months to get to this point the first mortgage hard credit pull already affected his credit unfairly ), then they said it was because my husband has legal action being taken against him like foreclosure or repossession but when we asked what account no one could tell us. My husband called all 3 credit bureaus and everyone said there was nothing. He paid for credit reports and there is nothing. When requested the credit report showing this from wellsfargo mortage team, they wouldn't give it to me. Also, they only used this reason after the fact, and when we dispusted the other reasons. There was no task, communication from the loan team or task from underwriting about this legal action until I called several times trying to get a reason for the denial. Our time, and credit were affected due to the actions of wellsfargo loan and Underwriting team. Everything in this process was strange and illogical, especially because we were refinancing our loan for the same loan term ( not extending it ), for the amount we still owed ( not taking equity ) and to pay {$400.00} less a month. They denied us to pay less money when we proved for over a year we could pay our mortage and on time.

Consumer Complaint: 2018 We started to fall behind on our mortgage payments. We applied for a loan modification at least once, before trying to apply for it at least twice before and while foreclosure started on our home. We were denied modification or any kind of help to save our home. We were desperate with XXXX kids and going through foreclosure. We ended up in foreclosure. We ended up having to rent a home for double what our mortgage was. We changed jobs, had to change our kids schools and it made us struggle even more financially. I would love to find out if we are entitled to any kind of settlement. We have wanted nothing more that being able to own our own home again.

Consumer Complaint: My identity was stolen by my ex XXXX XXXX, she allows her new boyfriend to get a fake ID in my name however, my name was spelled wrong on the ID the dummy spelled my name XXXX XXXX and not XXXX XXXX. They use my information to get goods, services and loans, when I was made aware of this I was told how to lock my credit report so no one can use it. I filed a police report and advised the credit report agencies, that the account via Wells Fargo auto loan was a fraudulent. However, they never took it off my report so I saw it still on my credit report advise them and they saying that Wells Fargo said it was factual or something so they gave me their number I called them and advised them but still nothing has happened.

Issue: Struggling to pay mortgage
Subissue: An existing modification, forbearance plan, short sale, or other loss mitigation reli
Consumer Complaint: I am filing a new complaint with the CFPB today against Wells Fargo Bank N.A. as a follow-up to my original complaint ( complaint # XXXX ) filed with the CFPB on XX/XX/XXXX. I received a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX and a {$200.00} check ( attached ) yesterday from Wells Fargo Customer Care - Remediation as follows : Subject : Check Enclosed Mortgage Account Number : XXXX Property address : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX Dear XXXX XXXX : During a review of the account, we identified that when the loan was considered for payment assistance options, an error may have occurred. As a result, we are enclosing a check for {$200.00}. In my original complaint the CFPB asked What would be a fair resolution to this issue? and I stated the following : I believe that total damages are in the range of {$100000.00}. Therefore, the late admission by Wells Fargo that an error may have occurred ( after complete denials and outright lies, in their response to my first complaint ) with a paltry {$200.00} check is a slap in the face, and shows the true extent of Wells Fargos hubris. My original complaint states as follows : I had a $ XXXX plus mortgage balance with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage from XXXX through XXXXWells Fargo Home mortgage charged me improper fees to refinance the existing mortgage in XXXX while I was on total XXXX, improperly applied my payments before, during and after the refinancing, and improperly refused to allow me to refinance my home again during the pandemic in direct disregard for the CARES Act and other mortgage protections. I was forced to sell my home earlier this year and now, will be unable to buy a new one due to XXXX. Wells Fargos Interim Response on XX/XX/XXXX, was that it was still working on my issue and that Weve been unable to establish contact with our customer XXXX XXXX and requested additional time to fully address my concerns. Let me state unequivocally, that Wells Fargo made XXXX attempts to contact me during the time period in question, and only contacted me after filing their response on XX/XX/XXXX, when the CFPB listed the complaint as closed with explanation. Wednesday morning, XX/XX/XXXX, a XXXX XXXX from Wells Fargo called me regarding my complaint to address any concerns that I had. Again, this was their first attempt to contact me, which was, at that point, after the fact, as the complaint had already been closed by the CFPB. As per my Feedback Provided to the CFPB : As I explained to him, Wells Fargo is free to put any questions regarding my complaint in writing, and I will respond in writing to those questions. This is due to the fact that they have been pathological liars in dozens of previous conversations ( supposedly all recorded by them ) over the phone. From promising to consider my specific requests for forbearance post XXXX of XXXX, to their outright denial of my request to put my mortgage payments on the back-end of my Wells Fargo home mortgage as allowed by the Cares Act. In late XXXX, I told Wells Fargo specifically which portions of the CARES Act ( to the exact chapter and subsection ) they were violating by refusing to process my forbearance requests from XXXX of XXXX. My requests were met with ignorance of any such regulations and subterfuge by Wells Fargo. If possible, simply have them produce each and every purportedly " taped conversation '' from the dozens of calls I ( and they ) made between XXXX of XXXX and XXXX of XXXX. When they say " there are no such taped conversations '' don't believe that for a minute. In fact, nearly every word of Wells Fargo 's response to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is an outright lie. While they claim that " No refinance attempt was found using your customer information '' and that " You did not request or receive any months of COVID-19 specific forbearance '' post XX/XX/XXXX, I have every single email exchange stating otherwise. The following are the " email headlines '' and I can provide the body of each and every email, if requested : 1 ) Date : Sat, XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX - From : Wells Fargo Applications & lt ; XXXX XXXX XXXX ; - Subject : We've Received All of Your Documentation X-Mailer_Template : DEFAULT_LOAN_LOAN_PRESERVATION_PROCESS_COMPLETED 2 ) Date : Wed, XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) - From : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ; - Subject : Handling of Your Recent Home Assistance by Wells Fargo Home Lending 3 ) Date : Wed, XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX - From : Wells Fargo Applications & lt ; XXXX XXXX XXXX ; - Subject : We've Received All of Your Documentation X-Mailer_Template : DEFAULT_LOAN_LOAN_PRESERVATION_PROCESS_COMPLETED 4 ) Date : Thu, XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) - From : Home Lending Customer Satisfaction Team & lt XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ; - Subject : Your Recent Contact with Wells Fargo Home Lending 5 ) Fri XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX - From : Wells Fargo Application & lt XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX ; - Subject : Next Steps for Your Home Assistance Request 6 ) Date : Fri, XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX - From : Wells Fargo Applications & lt ; XXXX XXXX XXXX ; - Subject : Meet Your Home Preservation XXXX 7 ) Date : Fri, XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX - From : Wells Fargo Applications & lt XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ; - Subject : Reminder to Send Required Documents 8 ) Date : Tue, XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX - From : Wells Fargo Applications & lt XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX ; - Subject : Meet Your New Home Preservation Specialist 9 ) Date : Wed, XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX ( PST ) - From : Wells Fargo & lt XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ; - Subject : Your recent interaction with Wells Fargo ( continued below ) Please see ( attached ) for some of the actual emails. I could have sent them all, but they illustrate that Wells Fargos laughable assertion that No refinance attempt was found using your customer information and You did not request or receive any months of COVID-19 specific forbearance is completely false, and is, at best, bad faith in Truth and Lending and other banking and consumer laws, and at worst, mortgage fraud by Wells Fargo , considering the above disclosures. As continued, under Additional Comments in my first complaint : Again, I have every one of these emails showing that not only did I apply for " COVID-19 specific forbearance '' in XXXX of XXXX, but that they received the requested documents specifically requesting the forbearance. They then proceeded to " jerk me around '' for the rest of XXXX and right up through the end of XX/XX/XXXX, as you can see by the emails. After I accused them of " Violations of the CARES Act, '' they deliberately contacted the credit rating agencies with " disparaging and derogatory remarks '' on my credit report less than 30 days later ( *see below ) and I have those emails from the " XXXX XXXX '' credit reporting agencies as well. Unable to " fight anymore, '' I sold my " dream home '' on XX/XX/XXXX ( my XXXX birthday ) and paid Wells Fargo " in full '' with plenty of penalties and interest.Wells Fargo has " done their best '' to assure that I will have a tough time ever owning a home again. * ( actual emails available on request ) And further as per " additional Comments '' : Again, " verbally contacting me? '' What a joke! Please have them provide detailed records of every verbal interchange during the time periods above, detailed credit bureau communications while my " forbearance requests '' were in process and detailed internal records of escalation of my ( very ) specific assertions of violations of Cares Act provisions to Wells Fargo internal management as well as ANY internal attempts to process my paperwork to allow me to " keep my home. '' I am making one last attempt to resolve this before the CFPB, considering that the CFPB did absolutely nothing to resolve my issues in my first complaint ( complaint # XXXX ) before filing a federal lawsuit against Wells Fargo Bank N.A . in United States District Court for the District of Connecticut ( D. Conn ) under the following ( including, but not limited to ) statutes : Attached emails from Wells Fargo show that multiple Wells Fargo employees were attempting to have me " re-qualify for my mortgage '' when requesting mortgage assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic, even though I cited " chapter and verse '' CARES Act regulations that stated otherwise. As the emails show, Wells Fargo was reporting my " late paymets '' to the credit reporting agencies, and " demanding the past-due payments. '' ( 1 ) Violation of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act ( RICO ) ( 2 ) Violation of the Truth in Lending Act ( TILA ) ( 3 ) Violation of the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act ( RESPA ) ( 4 ) Violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) ( 5 ) Breach of the implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing ( 6 ) Unjust enrichment ( 7 ) Gross negligence ( 8 ) Several State of Connecticut statutory consumer protection, credit reporting, or debt collection claims. I will be providing Wells Fargo Bank N.A. with a pre-litigation Letter of Intent to Sue with a settlement demand ( listed in the CFPBs fair resolution to this issue section of this complaint ) by registered mail to their XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX address on or before XX/XX/XXXX giving them thirty days ( or until XX/XX/XXXX, one year from my original complaint ) to give them a chance to resolve the matter amicably before heading to federal court.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXXXXXX I sent a wire from my account at XXXX XXXX to another business account at Wells Fargo Bank in the amount of {$3900.00}. I am in the music entertainment media industry and the proceeds were commission for an artist. Wells Fargo denied the wire requesting additional information for a name that was input in the memo field. This has nothing to do with the business in which I sent the wire to. I am unable to provide them with the information they are requiring because it is personal information of an individual who is referenced in the memo field. This has nothing to do with the beneficiary who is receiving the wire. I requested a recall on the wire, and they are refusing to return the money stating that its mandatory that I provide information for an individual referenced in the " memo '' field. This is unlawful and has had an impact on me conducting business. Not to mention the negativity it has had on my reputation. I need the CFPB to intervene so that I am able to retrieve my funds. Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: I had an account that was closed due to me being lied about by XXXX and XXXX XXXX. I had put in my original application when I first opened my checking account that I received social security. XXXX XXXX started a confrontation with my mother but the police stuck up for XXXX XXXX even after we had told the police. When she told my mom why don't you take your XXXX XXXX XXXX back in your home. XXXX and XXXX were both screaming at my mother using profanity but then whining and crying to the police that my mother screamed at them in front of their son. When XXXX had his son hanging on his shoulder screaming at the top of their XXXX at my mother. How would he feel like. If I screamed at his mother like that. My reputation was tarnished when they told the police I was filming their kid along with their friends kid also. Which I never did. This lie along with me being XXXX XXXX was being spread around Wells Fargo bank. XXXX and XXXX are the criminals here not us. Everyone seems to believe their side of the story. Banks are responsible for their employees action. If they went in customers private information to look at their application. Because I listed I received social security. Wells Fargo bank owes me for mental anguish harassment abuse because they told this to their friends and family. XXXX XXXX was insulting my mom telling her how poor we are. How does she even know who we are to begin with? My private information was compromised buy XXXX and XXXX XXXX. My life has been in emotional turmoil and XXXX XXXX is responsible. My life has been a nightmare ever since. I have no peace I lost enjoyment of my life. Because of these false accusations. And the hate slur she called me. When she told my mom why don't you take your XXXX XXXX XXXX back in your home. She said it where the whole neighborhood could hear it. There friends heard it and they were standing outside on their front porch. But my mom got the blame for everything. I lost my checking account and so did she.

Issue: Problem with a lender or other company charging your account
Subissue: Transaction was not authorized
Consumer Complaint: My wife called me from our home, she was on the computer and she told me that Wells Fargo had sent an alert to our home computer that someone may be trying to hack into our account. ( suspicious activity alert ) She called me and I immediately called the bank and spoke with a gentleman who confirmed that {$990.00} had been withdrawn from my account - WHILE we were speaking he asked me if I was making a {$3400.00} charge on my account. I said NO - especially since I was speaking with him on the phone and not buying anything. He said he had stopped that charge but was not sure he could reverse the {$990.00} cash withdrawal even though it had just happened. After a couple of weeks the bank informed me that they could not/would not return the {$990.00} to my account because it was a " legitimate '' withdrawal. I questioned how that could be when I was on the phone while this crime was being committed. The banks eventual rationalization was - " a trusted device was used by the perpetrator '' and since I could not prove that was NOT me is must be me. I told them that is what the justice calls fraud. I have spent hours, days on the phone with the bank, bank vice president, service persons pleading my case. I have filed 5 different complaint issues, been " recorded '' on the phone with at least 7 persons affiliated with the fraud division ALL have agreed with me and only the supervisor has denied my pleas. Even a loan officer and the bank Vice President have filed complaints on my behalf and all have been denied. Even one of the complaint persons ( ALL on recorded lines ) I told my story gave me advice on how to re-file and re-word the issue to get satisfaction. They say the trusted device had a phone number ending in XXXX. I assume now that this fraud was perpetrated a hacker that got into me computer and opened up a XXXX account. This employee said he recognized the pattern of opening up a XXXX account waiting two months then making a withdrawal. He said to explain this to XXXX XXXX the person hearing and denying my case. He said this was a common way to take out money, not to try and take out the money immediately but wait a while. I told them I did not fraudulently take {$990.00} from my own account. How would I benefit from creating a fraud against myself. Strangely enough this same bank hired me 15 years ago when it was XXXX XXXX and I sold securities and opened up accounts for this bank. My credentials have to be immaculate and spotless to work in a bank. I have a high profile in my community and this is a dangerous black mark I can not abide with. Pleas help, I have been trying to work with this bank for two months, to no avail.
