Issue: Problem with a lender or other company charging your account
Subissue: Transaction was not authorized
Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX XXXX I received an alert via text verifying a purchase at XXXX XXXX. I told them no. There was also a charge for XXXX from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX right after that too. I told them no to that charge too. They asked me if I had ever been to XXXXXXXX XXXX I said no and I didnt know what it was. They asked if I had been to the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. I said yes but not that location. I googled XXXX XXXX XXXX says they are in XXXX XXXX area and now I know they also have a galleria location and XXXX XXXXl too. Its an apparel store and the other is an ice cream cookie store. I called the WF rep. and began my claim. They reversed the money and credited my account. I got a series of emails almost daily saying they are looking into my claim. Last XXXX XX/XX/13 I was on my way to get lunch w family and then I saw my account was negative because they reversed the claim. They pinned the XXXX charge ( {$180.00} ) on me. They never reversed the XXXX XXXX XXXX for XXXX i was credited for that, This was my day- on wed XX/XX/XXXX. I just received my pay check from my XXXX XXXX job direct deposit. I was on my way to my XXXX job at a XXXX XXXX when I stopped at a XXXX XXXX XXXX on XXXX XXXX and swiped my wells fargo debit card outside. I then went to work and worked XXXX then went to my XXXX appt at XXXX in XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. After my appt. I swiped my WF debit card at the XXXX parking garage for {$7.00} around XXXX. Then I headed home and stopped in XXXX XXXX to get something to eat and that's when I was alerted there was a charge at XXXXXXXX XXXX the transaction showed it was used around XXXX. I believe my card was copied at the gas station pump among several other cards robbed that day and then duplicated and then used to shop and steal from me. Prior to the gas station, all previous transactions were mine, but not XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX. After my lunch wed XX/XX/XXXX I was livid. I spoke w Wells Fargo rep and they said they " ruled '' against me basically and that was it. I questioned their " investigation '' and they had no more feedback for me. I can not believe this is how they handle their customers!!! Their investigation was awful too I actually swiped my card in the med center parking garage and XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and can prove this while the thieves were shopping on my dime. Wells Fargo expects me to be a victim twice.

Issue: Problem with a company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Difficulty submitting a dispute or getting information about a dispute over the phone
Consumer Complaint: First if it even matters I'm a victim of identity theft, doesn't seem to matter to any one else as I along with my family continues to suffer altho before the identity theft that started in XXXX with wellsfago just as I have stated many times to numerous levels of entities as well as there executives. The XXXX credit reporting agencies, that the creditors state is where they get the information, but it doesn't influence there decisions. My complaint is simply stated I'm being personally discriminated against by the XXXX agencies and this has been the case for several years now. I have spent countless hrs of trying to upload documents and information that has totally exhausted my mental well being. I have completed online credit building plans with XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX others as well. XXXX XXXX where I have made on time payments for well over XXXX years. XXXX continues to report negative information about my personal identity, this I posted on there site XXXX years ago. And it continues to reported as my birthday XXXX its not XXXX but I learned that this is the birthdays of XXXX of the individuals that I have unfairly been associated with. And have been XXXX XXXX times. Concerning this along with having my phone wiretap by the state of XXXX where no one will answer to any questions concerning this. Another reason why I believe has been a ongoing negative narrative that has resulted in my being fasly acused and arrested assaulted and discriminated against on the highest levels one can imagine. It's has been beyond what words can describe for myself and my family. It's time that someone listened to my cry for help. It may not seem important to anyone that has never experienced this type of discrimination from numerous levels of agencies. My financial hardships are a direct result of what began with wells Fargo. And although I have explained my situation that has only gotten worst. I have reachout to lawfirms only to be disappointed with the answers I get and I believe it's due to the names that is the same as mine as described above. I reach out to legal aid services and their awser is there is a conflict of interest that they by law can't tell me. I'm confused totally. I'm suffering from many XXXX XXXX that is a direct result of the many unethical most unpleasant experience that again unless you have been on the receiving I don't expect you to understand the seriousness of this complaint. I'm giving the information that has I believe a important part of what continues to be discrimination against my ability to receive any type of credit to address my living expenses and Mortgage issues, living situation taxes, unemployment compensation, and other problematic factors that I don't understand example after several years now of everything I have explained the credit reporting agencies reporting different scores XXXX XXXX is reporting my score at XXXX and although that score should be able to get some sort of credit help. It hasn't made a difference. My online experience seems to be attack as everything I do online seems to be compromised by someone or its hard to explain tring to long in to XXXX. Shouldn't take the amount of time and I unfortunately haven't been able to log in. The virtual card they sent to me has been compromised another example of this nightmare that continues to discourage and prevent my attempts to address the issues and where I have spent countless hrs of wasted time trying to get new information and other things accomplished. This is another attempt to receive services that will address these problems. Thanks for your help in these matters.

Consumer Complaint: I wrote check # XXXX out of our Wells Fargo account on XX/XX/2023, and it was stolen out of the mail. The payee was changed and it was cashed at XXXX XXXX in XXXX, XXXX. They had also attempted to change the written amount, which did not match the numeric amount. Wells Fargo asked me to submit an affidavit stating the check had been altered, which I did, and after 90 days told me the bank of deposit ( XXXX ) claimed it wasn't correct. Wells Fargo asked me to resubmit another affidavit, saying the check was counterfeit, which I did on XX/XX/2023. XXXX XXXX, the client service officer handling the case just emailed me ( XXXX ) to say they " were unable to retrieve the funds, '' and that I should file a police report ( which I already did on XX/XX/2023 ) at the XXXX precinct in XXXX XXXX. Wells Fargo is obviously acting in bad faith and not protecting me from fraud, even though I used best practices.

Subissue: Problem using a debit or ATM card
Consumer Complaint: I have been a customer of Wells Fargo Bank for almost XXXX years. I can count on my fingers the amount of times I have needed to dispute a transaction, each time I have, it was fraudulent. On XX/XX/2023 I noticed XXXX transactions that were not made by me, even though it was my card number used. Through online banking, I disputed the transactions and a provisional credit was provided. Then, XX/XX/2023, I received a letter that informed me that Wells Fargo Bank determined three of the four charges were authorized by me and not fraudulent and they would be reversing the credits. I called in to the claims department, they informed me that this was determined because the merchant was able to provide receipts that showed my card was swiped to make these purchases. I informed them again that my card had not left my possession and those purchases were not mine. They reopened the claim. I hadn't received any updated information nor had I received any credits so I called back in. The claims specialist let me know again that Wells Fargo Bank and the merchant determined these to not be fraudulent charges because a card swiped and the merchant provided receipts. She let me know that Wells Fargo has special cards that can not be duplicated so when a card is swiped, they have to determine the charges valid. I can not believe that my hard earned money is just gone to fraudsters and the bank that I have been so loyal to for so many years is telling me there is nothing they are going to do about it. There are no layers to investigating, they look at receipts and only receipts, so if a criminal finds a way to make a card with your number on it, then the customer is out of luck. They didn't look at my prior transactions to see that I have never been to the same gas station in one day and spent {$340.00}. There were {$610.00} spent in a matter of 3 days. They didn't say whether a pin was used or if it was a credit card swipe if an ID was checked to verify the name on the card. They didn't say they reviewed camera footage of the transaction. Over the years I have given Wells Fargo Bank my money with the understanding they were keeping it safe, they are not keeping it safe.

Consumer Complaint: I attempted to withdraw {$300.00} from my account at a Wells Fargo ATM. The transaction completed but the cash was not dispensed. I called to file a claim, request my money back, spoke to the bank manager at a local branch plus talked to numerous departments at Wells Fargo and was told by all that it would need to be investigated and would take 10 days. The bank even sent me an email noting that there was an error during my most recent ATM transaction. When I was on the phone with Wells Fargo, no one could assist me with replacing the {$300.00} or accelerate the resolution. I am now without {$300.00} and dont know if I will even get it back.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was already discharged in bankruptcy and is no longer owed
Consumer Complaint: I am writing to seek assistance regarding a debt collection matter that has arisen after my XXXX XXXX bankruptcy in 2006, which was successfully discharged in XXXX of the same year. Prior to the bankruptcy, XXXX XXXX was attempting to collect on a loan that was subsequently included in the bankruptcy proceedings. After the discharge, a new entity, XXXX, began pursuing collection on the same loan, despite its discharge in the bankruptcy process. Recently, I communicated with XXXX 's account manager, informing them that the debt had been discharged in bankruptcy. The response indicated that they did not believe it was the same account, citing a discrepancy in account numbers. However, I am confident that this debt is indeed the same, as evidenced by the matching account numbers for a similar loan listed in my bankruptcy. Complicating matters, both XXXXXXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX, the companies associated with the original debt, have dissolved, making it challenging to obtain the necessary information to connect the dots. I am kindly requesting your assistance in urging XXXX XXXX XXXX to provide proof of the purchase of this debt. This documentation is crucial for me to continue the tracing process and clarify the status of this discharged debt. I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to your guidance on how to proceed.
