Consumer Complaint: On Saturday XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX I received a call from Nationwide Credit Inc ( XXXX ) and spoke with a representative. Usually I don't answer unknown numbers but because my Identity has been stolen, I'm receiving calls from Banks in regards to my credit freeze and fraud alert. So I'm answering every call I receive because I don't know if it's a bank or not. I wasn't aware of Nationwide as a debt collector so I did not want to give my personal information to the representative, I said I would call back because I need to verify the information. But the representative became very pushy and aggressive and I told him I don't trust him and I don't know if he's a scammer too so I'll call back. The representative hung up the phone and immediately called me back on a separate line ( fake phone # XXXX at XXXX ) to cuss me out, insult my wife and mother, and make threats against me. It was clearly the same guy because it was the exact same voice and he said he was going to use my information to steal my identity as well. I hung up on him and first verified NationWide Credit as a debt collector and then called them back to report him but the offices were not open because it was the weekend. I included documentation showing that they are a debt collector attempting to collect a debt ( I found a correspondence from them ) and screenshots from my phone of the incoming calls, the time of the calls and the duration of each ( which shows he called me immediately ).
