Consumer Complaint: I write you to address cascading events sprung by serial errors of XXXX Bank of XXXX MA. It started last fall with XXXX mailing my bank statements to a defunct out of state business address in error. These statements indicated three returned checks with associated overdraft fees. XXXX mailed a letter to me received on XXXX XX/XX/2022 stating that I owed XXXX {$230.00}. This if the first time I knew there was a problem since all my statements were being sent elsewhere without my knowledge or consent. I called the number on the letter, and I asked for and got a list of the six charges totaling {$200.00}. I agreed to pay the full amount of {$230.00} immediately. The XXXX Rep said if paid that same day there would be no further action. I immediately went to the XXXX ( local ) branch, met with Bank Manager XXXX XXXX XXXX, explained the situation, and I paid the full balance. She assured me that the matter was at that moment ; settled. XXXX XXXX revealed the statements were going to a NH address and thats why I had no notice. Further, she said she would bump my complaint up to top management for corrective action. As of now, I have heard nothing. Yesterday, I received a demand letter for {$230.00} from a debt collection company, Transworld Systems Inc, TSI ( attached ). Now, my credit score has been damaged by false reporting.

Consumer Complaint: Transworld Systems Inc/XXXX has been contacted twice to a pay an old debt I did not realize was still out there. In XXXX I was told they could not find any account under my name or social. The second time in XXXX I was told they found the account but it was charged off and no longer active. Since it was no longer active in their system, it can not be payed on. I then disputed the collection item on my credit report with the credit bureaus. I received a letter that stated they completed their investigation and found the debt is valid but was charged off some time ago. The letter went on to state it does not mean I have a 0 balance, the debt is still valid, but just can not be paid and it will continue to report negatively each month to the credit bureaus and they would notate " the consumer disputes the claim ''.

Consumer Complaint: I had 3 private XX/XX/XXXXloans from XXXX that were originally through XXXX XXXX. I was sued inXX/XX/XXXX Myself and my father were threatened with tax liens on my parents home and back account freezing which forced me to begin to pay the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX department to avoid harsh penalties. My husband lost his job leaving me unable to continue to pay the loans off. The collections agency continued to try and get payments but refused anything I offered saying it wouldn't be enough on the principle balance. I do not feel these loans should have legally been able to be collected in the first place due to the statue of limitations being reached but I was scared because of what I was being told. I eventually was able to settle and get a payment plan but only after I had to get a lawyer to communicate with XXXX and XXXX. The payments that were settled on were still very high, and I was able to squeeze payments out for about 2 years but when Covid hit my husband lost his job again. I do believe the initial loans were predatory to begin with as the XXXX XXXX accounts office only handed private XX/XX/XXXXloan information out for one bank. I was the first person in my family to go to college so our education on the financing piece was not great at that time. We were not given any support on understanding at that time. We were told that it was our only option if I wanted to go to school there. I am hoping that something can be done, since I do not feel the bank or collection agencies had a right to collect the payments to begin with.
