Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: TSI TRANSWORLD SYSTEMS INC. has submitted the debt to the credit bureau prior to the date stated on the paper. It was submitted to the credit bureaus today and the paper from TSI says it would submit to credit bureaus XX/XX/2022 if I had not submitted a dispute. I had spoke to a lady from TSI this past Thursday because this debt was never submitted to my health insurance. I was told everything would be disputed from their end and the hospital would have to resubmit. Yet the hospital told me they would pay it since it was hospital representative failed to submit it to health insurance.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I was alerted that a frivolous collection agency Transworld Systems Inc. placed an account for collection on all credit bureaus for the amount of {$220.00}. I immediately notified the agency that I do not lawfully owe this due and requested all documentation stating that I owe the collection agency. No contract nor legal obligation, contract, or agreement has been signed nor documented. On XX/XX/XXXX the agency failed to provide sufficient information to validate the debt yet continued to harass and report a negative status and balance to all credit bureaus. Please note I wrote the creditor again on XX/XX/XXXX ( find documentation attached ) to request not verification but true validation of this debt and any contracts signed and or any legal statue that the collection agency can collect legally on this debt. On XX/XX/XXXX Transworld Systems wrote and informed me they have investigated and responded yet I have not been provided no legal documents stating that I owe the company. Be advised that this is not a refusal to pay, but a notice sent pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 USC 1692g Sec. 809 ( b ) that your claim is disputed and validation is requested. Transworld Systems needs to be held accountable for their unlawful actions.

Consumer Complaint: About 2 months ago, I received a notice of debt owed from Nationwide Credit , Inc ( www.ncirm.com ). I was not worried about it because the last 4 of the account number, the amount and the middle initial of the owner did not match my own personal information. I bank with XXXX XXXX XXXX and the account in collections is also through the same bank so I contacted XXXX on XXXX/XXXX/2022. I spoke with the collections department, and they verified that neither the account number nor amount matched any account I have or have ever had. I wrote to Nationwide Credit on XX/XX/2022 clarifying that I am not the named party and requesting debt validation in the hopes that they would realize their mistake. Fast forward to XX/XX/2022 and I received one page of the debt validation report which contains all of the named party 's personal information. His address, DOB, SSN, his email address. This is incredibly irresponsible on the part of Nationwide Credit , Inc . They have given me, a stranger who lives XXXX miles away in a different state, access to all of this man 's personal information simply because our first and last name 's are the same.

Consumer Complaint: Transworld Systems has violated my consumer rights by continuing to furnish data to the consumer reporting agencies regarding an alleged debt as if they are the original creditor. They are violating federal law USC 1692e. The bill the company is providing is showing as a write off from Reliant energy in XXXX. However, Transworld is reporting that this was opened in XXXX XXXX they are falsely reporting information to the credit bureaus for an alleged debt not owed to Transworld systems. This is over XXXX XXXX XXXX and continues to report. I demand this debt to be removed from their system and from the credit bureaus systems immediately. They haven't been able to provide sufficient debt validation information to show they are the original creditor and the debt hasn't been validated by myself. The term creditor means any person who offers or extends credit creating a debt or to whom a debt is owed, but such term does not include any person to the extent that he receives an assignment or transfer of a debt in default solely for the purpose of facilitating collection of such debt for another. According to 15 USC 1692J It is unlawful to design, compile, and furnish any form knowing that such form would be used to create the false belief in a consumer that a person other than the creditor of such consumer is participating in the collection of or in an attempt to collect a debt such consumer allegedly owes such creditor, when in fact such person is not so participating. b ) Any person who violates this section shall be liable to the same extent and in the same manner as a debt collector is liable under section XXXX of this title for failure to comply with a provision of this subchapter. According to 15USC 1692g ( collection agency ) has failed to provide all of the information required in the law below as well. If the consumer notifies the debt collector in writing within the thirty-day period described in subsection ( a ) that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, or that the consumer requests the name and address of the original creditor, the debt collector shall cease collection of the debt, or any disputed portion thereof, until the debt collector obtains verification of the debt or a copy of a judgment, or the name and address of the original creditor, and a copy of such verification or judgment, or name and address of the original creditor, is mailed to the consumer by the debt collector. Collection activities and communications that do not otherwise violate this subchapter may continue during the 30-day period referred to in subsection ( a ) unless the consumer has notified the debt collector in writing that the debt, or any portion of the debt, is disputed or that the consumer requests the name and address of the original creditor. Any collection activities and communication during the 30-day period may not overshadow or be inconsistent with the disclosure of the consumers right to dispute the debt or request the name and address of the original creditor. According to XXXX XXXX Code Sec. 393.202 the collection agency has repeatedly violated the code below by utilizing the stall tactic in their response letters without providing any validation of the alleged debt. d ) If the third-party debt collector states that there has not been sufficient time to complete an investigation, the third-party debt collector shall immediately : ( XXXX ) change the item in the relevant file as requested by the individual ; ( XXXX ) send to each person who previously received the report containing the information a notice that is equivalent to a notice under Subsection ( c ) and a copy of the changed report; and ( XXXX ) cease collection efforts. ( XXXX ) On completion by the third-party debt collector of the investigation, the third-party debt collector shall inform the individual of the determination of whether the item is accurate or inaccurate. If the third-party debt collector determines that the information was accurate, the third-party debt collector may again report that information and resume collection efforts.

Consumer Complaint: I received a service from XXXX XXXX XXXX from mid XXXX up until XX/XX/2021. I was then charged for services in the month of XXXX after the service was suspended due to no payments made for the services for the month of XXXX and XXXX. However, that is not the issue that I am going to bring to the attention of the CFPB. I know I owed them money for the months of XXXX which i used the services for half the month and XXXX I did not use the services at all, but i did not notify them that i wouldn't be using their services anymore. The issue is, on XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter from a debt collection agency by the name of the Transworld Systems Inc. After finding it very odd that I was being charged in the month of XXXX by XXXX after my services were suspended, I reached out to them in regards to being charged for XXXX. While I was talking to them I asked them about the debt collection agency that they sent me to. I asked them what we could do to make sure that it doesn't affect my credit score. I then called the number for the debt collection agency to try to resolve the debt. I first called the number that was stated on the top right corner of the letter. When I tried to call the number it immediately went to voicemail and stated that their normal business hours are from XXXX Est. Monday through Friday. I thought it was very odd that I was unable to get ahold of a debt collection agency on a normal business day. I then googled the address that is also found on the top right corner of the letter. I found a different number to contact, so I called that number. While speaking to a gentleman I gave him the reference/account number that is stated in the letter. He stated that their account numbers are 6-8 digits long. Mine was 10 digits long. He was unable to find my account and then I verified my full legal government name with him to find the same result I did not exist in their system. I found it very odd that I am calling a debt collection agency and they're telling me I don't exist in their system but I am receiving a debt collection letter from them. I called XXXX XXXX XXXX back to ask them how I received a letter from Transworld Systems Inc. for a debt yet I don't exist in their system. I was asked by a gentleman named, XXXX, " What is my goal? Am I trying to start a payment plan? '' I asked him why would I be trying to start a payment plan with you guys if you have already turned me over to a collections agency? Why would I pay XXXX XXXX XXXX when you guys sold the debt off to a collection agency correct? He then put me on hold to speak to one of their " financial guys '' after being on hold he came back with a different account number. Not knowing that the collection agency only uses 6-8 digits for reference account numbers he gave me another 10 digit number. At this point I think he is lying to me about the debt being turned over to collections. I believe that they sent me the deceiving letter acting as a debt collection agency, which is a federal offense. I want a full investigation on XXXX XXXX XXXX for mail fraud. Calls were recorded when I spoke with Transworld Systems Inc.

Consumer Complaint: TSI-Transworld Systems Inc XXXX This collection agency took the debt over of my XXXX XXXX XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I rec 'd a letter informing me the debt was {$13000.00} and a monthly payment of {$570.00} as agreed on would come out of my bank for 23 months which would equal {$13000.00}. This is more than the debt on the payment notice. On the account summary from XXXX XXXX XXXX, on XX/XX/XXXX the debt was listed as {$10000.00}. I rec 'd a copy of account summary on XX/XX/XXXX as i had been locked out of the XXXX XXXX account and started noticing discrepancies b/w the XXXX XXXX monthly statement and the TSI monthly account statement. When I called in XX/XX/XXXX to verify the payment plan had stopped, I was informed I still owed {$8400.00}, and the 23-month payment plan was just the length they can set payments up and the amount is more because they charge fees and there is interest added. I agreed to start paying {$1200.00} to get this paid in full. However, I started noticing each statement from the XXXX XXXX XXXX had different amount owned than the statement from TSI. Again, I called and was told this is due to interest and their fees and the debt can change at any time. I did request during that call an account summary. As of XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX statement reports the debt as {$3400.00} and TSI statement reports the debt as {$4000.00} which went up from the amount, they reported in the phone call which was $ {$4000.00} still owed per XXXX. As of date, I have paid this company {$15000.00} well over the original debt told to me and they have me still owing {$4000.00}. I have all of the documentation and bank statements. Additional files upon request.
