Consumer Complaint: UAS is fraudulently collecting interest on Perkins loans by delaying payment due from the legally required repayment start date of 9 months from graduation to 10 months. I paid my daughters Perkins loan off on the date that UAS said payments were due. Her loan was due XX/XX/2022 but UAS said payment wasnt due til XX/XX/XXXX. After paying loan in full on due date XX/XX/XXXX I had a remaining balance due of {XXXX}. I finally got the interest removed. But this company needs to be investigated for illegally deferring payments by one month to help themselves to interest they are not entitled to. How many thousands of borrowers are starting off in the hole before a payment is even required? They are thieves and this is criminal and they need to stop this practice and be held accountable. The US department of Education needs to be made aware of this also.

Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. 1681g I have the right to demand that you disclose to me all of the documents that you have recorded and retained in your file at the time of this request concerning the accounts that you are reporting in my credit report. Consumer Complaint: I co-sign a student loan for a family member. They started to get repayment statements before finishing college. They tried to defend the payment but the bills continue coming and they unable to make any payment on the loan. That was back in XXXX. The debt was several time through out the years. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX has law suit against me to garnish my wage has the co-signer which I can not afford. I am a XXXX year apprentice program. This is a old debt that was charge off by the original company. If I had the money I would try and settle with them but I dont have it. Please advise if there is any other option I can take. I think it should be against the law for the practice of buy debt that has been charged off for pennies on the dollars to sue for these outrageous amount of money plus all interest for all these years.There is no protection for us against these debt buyers. Consumer Complaint: I had a re-payment agreement in place with University Accounting Services ( UAS ) /Younomics for a private student loan from XXXX XXXX XXXX I was approved for a repayment agreement, however UAS never updated my account despite me contacting via phone and e-mail every 10-14 days for the past 8 months. I filled out the paperwork they provided to get a new payment plan agreed to as I lost my full time finance job in XX/XX/XXXX when I was downsized due to Covid ( I was approved for unemployment for this reason ), sent it back to UAS, and was approved for a monthly payment amount of {$160.00}. However, my actual account was never updated to the correct monthly payment amount, and based on past experience I was told if the payment made isnt for the correct amount it will not be applied to the lain correctly. I made it clear to UAS all they needed to do was update my account and I would make the payment. Each time I spoke with someone from UAS they told me they were looking into updating my account but never did, and no one from their company got back to me for the next 6 months. UAS documented every time I spoke with them which is saved in the notes of my account in their system. I also have emails and documentation which backs this up. Even though my account was never updated to the correct re-payment amount per the agreement, I made a lump sum payment of {$1100.00} on XX/XX/XXXX which should have made my account current. After making that payment, I again tried to contact UAS via email and phone to make sure the payment was applied correctly to my account multiple times over the next 2 weeks with no response from or action from them. I was then informed on XX/XX/XXXX that my loan was charged off, despite my efforts the past 6-8 months AND making the outstanding payment that was due, and despite my account never being updated to reflect the updated re-payment agreement. I made every effort I possibly could to bring my account current so I really need your help at this point to get my loan back to UAS so I can resume payment as previously agreed to, which Im happy and able to do.
