Issue: Problem with a company's investigation into an existing problem

Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report

Consumer Complaint: I am writing to officially contest the inaccurate and misleading details recently uncovered in my credit report. Upon receiving a notification regarding unauthorized and unverified accounts associated with my credit profile, I was dismayed to find that this credit bureau had not conducted the necessary due diligence to validate these claims. Instead, an automatic notation was added without providing any reference or supporting documentation. This failure to verify has significantly impacted my credit report, leading me to take legal action by filing a police report concerning these unauthorized accounts. In accordance with consumer law and regulations set forth, I insist on a thorough investigation that was not accurately conducted. As outlined in 15 U.S. Code 1681i - Procedure in case of disputed accuracy, the FCRA specifies procedures for contested information. Subsection ( 5 ) explicitly mandates that if, after reinvestigation, information is found to be inaccurate or unverifiable, the consumer reporting agency must promptly delete or modify that information and notify the furnisher accordingly. I draw attention to 15 U.S. Code 1681n - Civil liability for willful noncompliance, emphasizing consequences for failing to comply with the FCRA. Any person obtaining a consumer report under false pretenses or without a permissible purpose may be liable for actual damages sustained by the consumer reporting agency or {$1000.00}, whichever is greater. I demand that you delete all the accounts listed below immediately. Subissue: Reporting company used your report improperly

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX sent a copy of a report with the late payments reporting on these dates XXXX XXXX XXXXXX/XX/XXXX unlawfully. After I asked them to not report unlawful information based on source of Consumer law 15 U.S.Code 1666B Timing of payments & 15 USC 1681a ( d ) 1. Issue: Problem with a company's investigation into an existing problem

Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report

Consumer Complaint: I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the repeated attempts to rectify the late opening of my account with your institution. I opened an account with your branch and unfortunately, I have encountered several issues that have not been adequately addressed. Despite my best efforts to resolve this matter through various channels, including phone calls and in-person visits to the branch, the late opening of my account persists. I have attached copies of the relevant documents, including the account opening paperwork and receipts, for your reference. I initially opened the account and was informed that it would be active within a specific timeframe. I made multiple follow-up calls to inquire about the status of my account. Each time, I was assured that the issue would be resolved promptly. I visited the branch in person to seek assistance, but unfortunately, the problem persists. I understand that issues may arise, and I am willing to cooperate to resolve this matter amicably. However, the lack of progress and communication regarding the status of my account is both frustrating and concerning. I kindly request that you investigate this matter promptly and provide a detailed explanation for the delay. Additionally, I expect a clear timeline for the resolution of this issue. I believe that transparency and effective communication are essential in maintaining a positive customer relationship. If this matter is not addressed within the exact timeframe from the date of this letter, I will be left with no choice but to escalate my complaint to the appropriate regulatory authorities. I am asking for your assistance to correct this late open account in my credit file : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX Balance : {$120.00}.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Subissue: Public record information inaccurate

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX, I pulled a 3 Credit Bureau Report to check my credit as I do every year. I noticed that there was a Public Record listed on my TransUnion credit report, showing a Bankruptcy. This Public Record is ONLY showing on TransUnion. I was very alarmed as I have never filed for a bankruptcy. I sent a letter to TransUnion utilizing the dispute process granted to me by the FCRA. TransUnion responded that the public record account was verified. I then sent a letter to the source of the information that was on my TransUnion credit report showing the information about the account was obtained from the Bankruptcy Court at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, ID XXXX. This is clearly listed on TransUnion report as the source of the information being reported on my credit report. The letter was mailed and received by the Bankruptcy Court on XX/XX/XXXX. I am attaching a copy of this letter to this CFPB complaint. The Bankruptcy Court responded that they DO NOT verify any information to any of the credit bureaus, and that the information must have come from a different source. TransUnion is stating directly on my credit report that the information was supplied by a Court. According to the letter from the Court, I then sent a letter to the 3rd party source that TransUnion uses asking them to send me my consumer file as I was disputing a Public Record on my TransUnion credit report that is not mine. XXXX sent me letters dated XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. I am attaching all documentation to this complaint. Letters dated XXXX and XXXX of XXXX from XXXX clearly show that the incorrect information was disputed and XXXX was unable to verify the information. They provided me with the findings pursuant to Section 609 of the FCRA. The documents provided show they deleted the incorrect information from their files. I have attached all documents to this complaint. I then sent a letter to TransUnion, along with the letter from the Court and letters from XXXX. TransUnion sent a letter back to me. It again showed that TransUnion did not delete the information from my credit report and it again stated that TransUnion didnt complete the investigation because they had already looked into it and again listed the source of the information as the Bankruptcy Court at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX ID XXXX. I relocated to XXXX and again I pulled my annual credit report it STILL showed that I had a public record only on TransUnion. I then submitted a letter in XX/XX/XXXX directly to the source of information directly from my TransUnion credit report the address of the court. In a letter dated XXXX, the Court responded to my letter stating they DO NOT report any information to any of the credit bureaus. In a letter dated XXXX, I submitted a dispute letter demanding the public record appearing on my credit report be removed as it is not mine, directly to TransUnion along with the newest letter from the Court and my identification documents. TransUnion sent a copy of my credit report dated XXXX showing no changes were made and the public record is still showing even though I sent them all the information showing it was not my account. In a letter dated XXXX, I submitted a dispute letter demanding the public record appearing on my credit report be removed as it is not mine, directly to TransUnion along with the newest letter from the Court and my identification documents. I included also the paperwork directly from XXXX stating the bankruptcy information is not mine and has been deleted from their files. In a letter dated XXXX, TransUnion responded that NO CHANGE NEEDED and again in writing shows that TransUnion verified the inaccurate information directly with the court at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX, XXXX, ID XXXX. TransUnion is clearly violating the FCRA and is liable for damages I have sustained from them not removing inaccurate information from my credit report. TransUnion is refusing to follow the law and remove inaccurate information and is not updating my credit file. I have been unable to gain credit due to this unlawful reporting. I am demanding that TransUnion remove the public record from my credit report immediately.
