Issue: Problem with a company's investigation into an existing problem

Consumer Complaint: I am submitting a formal complaint against TransUnion for their failure to respond to dispute letters that I mailed on XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX. In these letters, I requested investigations into inaccurate items on my credit report, including entries for XXXX XXXX XXXX IL XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX - XX/XX/XXXX inquiry, and XXXX XXXX - XX/XX/XXXX inquiry. Additionally, I disputed incorrect names and addresses listed on my credit report. To assist TransUnion in verifying my identity and address, I diligently included copies of my photo ID, social security card, and a recent bill with my current address. Regrettably, I received a response from TransUnion, dated XX/XX/XXXX, indicating that they were unable to process my request because it did not appear to have been sent directly by me or an authorized third party. Despite sending an additional dispute letter on XX/XX/XXXX, I did not receive any response from TransUnion. According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ), credit bureaus are required to conduct a reasonable reinvestigation when the completeness or accuracy of any information is disputed by the consumer. It is evident that TransUnion has failed to fulfill this obligation, thereby violating my consumer rights. Enclosed with this complaint are copies of the dispute letters I sent to TransUnion, along with their response and proof of mailing, serving as evidence of my attempt to address inaccuracies in my credit report and TransUnion 's failure to conduct a proper investigation.

Additionally, I disputed incorrect addresses and a name listed on my credit report. To assist TransUnion in verifying my identity and address, I diligently included copies of my photo ID, social security card, and a recent bill with my current address. Regrettably, I received responses from TransUnion, dated XX/XX/XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX, indicating that they were unable to process my requests because it did not appear to have been sent directly by me or an authorized third party.
