Subissue: Credit inquiries on your report that you don't recognize
Consumer Complaint: I, XXXX XXXX, am a federally protected consumer and I am filing this complaint against SYNCB/CARE CREDIT. SYNCB/CARE CREDIT is in direct violation in regards to the information that is being furnished on my consumer report. I would like to state that SYNCB/CARE CREDIT is in violation of 15 USC 1681b ( a ) ( 2 ), which clearly states that information furnished must be in accordance with the written instructions of the consumer. I, the consumer, never gave SYNCB/CARE CREDIT any written consent to report anything on my consumer report. NO CONSENT = IDENTITY THEFT. The following inquiry is being fraudulently furnished. I did not authorize, benefit from, nor consent to this inquiry and I demand it be removed from my consumer report immediately : XX/XX/2021 ( XX/XX/2021 ). If this inquiry is not removed, I will hold SYNCB/CARE CREDIT criminally liable for willful noncompliance and aggravated identity theft pursuant 15 USC 1681a ( q ) ( 3 ) since fraud is being committed using my identifying information. This negative item on my consumer report is preventing me from having a fair and equitable consumer report according to 15 USC 1681b. If SYNCB/CARE CREDIT can not provide to me a copy of when I sent a written permissible purpose to validate this inquiry, I demand for it to be deleted in 4 days. Enclosed is the FTC Identity Theft Report which states the above mentioned inquiry that is being fraudulently furnished.

Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Card opened as result of identity theft or fraud
Consumer Complaint: The Account Im disputing, was sold to XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX by Synchrony Bank/Gap . This Account was one that I had called in to Synchrony Bank/Gap for in XX/XX/XXXX as a fraud account, opened fraudulently in my name. Back in XXXX, they reviewed the Account and they deemed it fraud. My actual social security number was never used to open any Synchrony Bank/Gap accounts after running it through their database, then and now. Therefore, to my knowledge they closed it and reported the fraud account to the credit bureaus in XXXX. Unbeknownst to me, after Synchrony Bank/Gap closed the Account, having the notes on file since XX/XX/XXXX that it was a fraudulent account, they sold it to XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX of XXXX. Now, XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX is actively suing me for this fraud account. I called Synchrony Bank/Gap right away to inquire about the " Account '' mentioned in the lawsuit. They repeatedly apologized for their negligence of how it was not properly handled by the representative. The representative closed the account but did not send the fraud alert to the credit bureaus. This is why for all this time the Account seemed valid, it was not properly handled by the Synchrony/Gap. They still have on file the fraud, the notes, and the calls in XXXX. I have never signed up for an account, to this date, with Synchrony/Gap. I never filled out or signed an application for a Synchrony/Gap card. Synchrony Bank/Gap is currently working on getting me the fraud paperwork.

Issue: Problem when making payments
Subissue: Problem during payment process
Consumer Complaint: I have made my Paypal Credit account to make several purchases to take advantage of their " XXXX months no-interest promotional financing '' offer ( which is actually " deferred interest '' that is waived if you pay off the balance before it expires ). This year, I received a partial refund from XXXX of the merchants I had made a purchase from that qualified for this promotional financing. That " credit '' was applied to a different outstanding promotional financing purchase on my account, due to the way Synchrony applies these credits by default. When I called to complain that this was not in my interest, I was told that this would be taken care of. Instead of the credit being taken off of the wrong purchase and applied to the correct purchase, the amount was " reallocated '' from promotional financing to a " standard '' balance ( which bears interest IMMEDIATELY ). This means that any payment I made would first go towards this " standard '' balance instead of my expiring promotional balances and I never knew why. Synchrony makes it IMPOSSIBLE to figure out what's going on, then they refuse to allow consumers ( or even the customer service reps that deal directly with consumers ) to directly contact anyone who actually makes adjustments to account balances, so every time I would call and complain ( XXXX or XXXX times over the last 6 months ), I would be assured that everything would be fixed ( " within XXXX to XXXX billing cycles '' ), but things would get WORSE every time. Most recently, in an attempt to fix this situation, Synchrony " paid off '' ALL of my promotional balances, then realized they messed up and DEBITED my account for that amount, except instead of putting it back on promotional balances, it was ALL put on the REGULAR " STANDARD '' balance, which I now have to pay right away or risk paying interest on all of it. I STILL can't talk to anyone actually making the changes.

Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, we are all facing which has me sitting still at home and I saw the recent news about the multiple XXXX Data breaches. I decided to look at my credit reports from the 3 major credit bureaus and found that someone had used my Identity. I have no idea how the theft took place. I also have no knowledge of any suspects. I did not receive any money, goods, or services as a result of identity theft. I contacted the Credit Bureau and told me to file an Identity Theft Report which I am doing. I appreciate your effort in getting this matter resolved. Thank you. Please let me know if you need any other information from me to block this information from my credit report. Thank you. "

Consumer Complaint: I have a Conns credit card through synchrony bank. I have NEVER missed a payment or paid late. They took my credit line from {$1000.00} to {$200.00} when I called to inquire as to why I was told due to recent inquiries on my credit report. I explained that I was in the process of purchasing another vehicle for my logistics company that has expanded. So I am basically being penalized for expanding my business. Their action reflected negatively on my credit report and caused me to loose points. I was also told I paid my bill in full before the statement date is another reason they dropped my limit and to show this is a pattern with them synchrony put a hold on my Sams Club card for paying it in full before the statement date.

Consumer Complaint: Synchrony Bank XXXX XXXX has held a {$270.00} Credit Balance of mine for over 3 years. During that time they have made no attempt to contact me either by phone, email, US Mail or any other means. I received no Account Statements during that period. This has the appearance of a profit making Scam, since the letter I finally received offering a settlement was A FORM LETTER this suggests to me that I am not the only customer of theirs that has suffered this same fate. They are now offering me a refund 10-14 weeks after their proposed XX/XX/XXXX settlement date. Chronology : On XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter from Synchrony Bank stating that I had a credit balance of {$270.00} since XX/XX/XXXX. Offering me a refund of my money if I signed and returned a copy of the letter either by email or US mail. I signed and returned copies by both email and US Mail. I have had no acknowledgement of receipt and have no way of knowing whether my submission was received. They gave no phone number or any means to conact them other than an email address that responds via robot and gives me no result. THIS IS A SERIOUS VIOLATION AGAINST NOT ONLY ME BUT I'M SURE AGAINST SEVERAL HUNDRED IF NOT THOUSANDS OF CUSTOMERS.
