Consumer Complaint: My Synchrony has closed and lower credit limits for absolutely no reason over the past year. All of my accounts with them are/were in good standing. They have dramatically affected my credit score and my ability to get new credit. They have lowered my rooms to go, they lowered my XXXX card twice. They closed my Lowes Card with a XXXX limit with XXXX warning and it had a XXXX balance. There carelessness for an account holder who always made on time payments has caused drastic ripple effects in my life. Higher interest rates and now I cant get approved for anything. This bank is a predator!

Consumer Complaint: My payment is a month behind and I am trying to get caught up. As soon as the next payment becomes due ( the second of the month ) and not paid they start calling three to four times a day daily Monday through Sunday ( they call once or twice on Sundays ) until a payment is made. When I pick up to try to make arrangements to pay its an automated call and my choices are to pay now OR to pay now. Sometimes they let me choose a date three days in the future and I don't get an option to speak with a representative.

Consumer Complaint: A transaction was made using this credit service and the product was unusable due to security and safety policies issued in light of XXXX. The merchant was unreachable and up to today, no response has been received about a credit or refund. The transaction has gone into collections and was left with no option or assistance by the credit issuer to issue some form of protection. Currently, I have set a minimum payment to be collected by the credit issuer however I am compelled to pay the maximum amount of interest for the past two years on a very small balance. I have contacted the credit issue or almost a dozen times to resolve and no level of authority within synchrony banks organization has demonstrated any ability to sort this out. I am left with no control over my ability to save from paying additional interest due to a locked and closed account. I am being forced to pay undue interest caused by PayPal credit/synchrony banks operational negligence.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022, my Paypal account was hacked. The individual who hacked my account was able to change my address and phone number, and initiate transfers from my bank. The individual attempted to add additional banking information, but that action was somehow blocked. They initiated a {$100.00} transfer from my checking account and another {$100.00} transfer from my savings account. I alerted my bank, XXXX XXXX, and they were able to block the transaction from my savings account, I also deleted my savings account information which may have prevented the action. The {$100.00} transfer did occur, but ultimately landed in my own paypal account. Assuming my account was safe at this point because I changed the password and added double authentication, I sent the money back to my checking account and alerted my bank that the issue had been resolved. However, yesterday, I received notification that my Paypal Credit ( Synchrony Bank ) account had been closed and reopened with a different account number. When I called the credit company to find out why this action had taken place, they indicated it was because someone had called on XX/XX/2022 indicating that they were me and that fraud had occurred on the account and they wanted it closed and reopened under a different account. I did not make that phone call. I closed the account today, but assuming this individual had enough information to close and reopen an account, I am concerned that they can reopen an account basically anywhere. Both paypal and paypal synchony bank offered insufficient security, allowing someone first to initiate transfers from my bank by easily changing address and phone number information, and secondly, have such insufficient security that they were able to impersonate me in a phone call on XX/XX/XXXX after I updated all of my security settings.
