Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: I have submitted documentation to Synchronydirectly to the office of the President to a lady by the name of XXXX, in an effort to resolve my dispute of charges, missed payments, and debits to my bank account resulting from identity theft. The office of the president of Synchrony contacted me and assigned a point of contact, but this person lied to me, stopped answering my messages, and did not return my phone calls after I requested a refund for funds that were drafted from my bank accounts without my permission. Synchrony bank has been playing with this account for over 6 months and has damaged my credit score. Synchrony responded to a previous complaint that this issue was not resolved in my favor but that is also false. The company has not reported the correct information to the credit bureau and refuses to address the issue. I would like the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau to investigate this issue and would like to receive assistance with representation to sue Synchrony for the damages that it has done to my person,

Issue: Fees or interest
Subissue: Problem with fees
Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX I called care credit to inquire about " card security '' fees. I signed up for care credit in XXXX and never have authorized this card security fee. I asked the representative on the phone if she could pull to where I signed up for this with an written authorization and signature and she said I signed up for it online on XXXX with my application however I do not recall this. I noticed it today because my autopay is on and I signed in and my amount charged for services has NOT gone down because of these fees! Every month I am paying and it is not doing anything because of this card security fee I did NOT sign up for! The representative said she could cancel the card security fee immediately and issue a refund of {$150.00} however there are over {$600.00} in these card security fees spanning XXXX as XXXX I had {$320.00} and for XXXX {$13.00}. She said they were only able to refund the {$150.00} and that I couldnt do anything more to request the full amount to be refunded. I am unable to see the XXXX fees because my statements do not go that far back. This does not help all the other months of charges that were wrongfully charged and scammed me I asked if she could escalate this to get these fees refunded and removed. I am officially making a complaint because this company did not get my authorization to sign up for the card security fee via a signed signature or written statement. If I had not logged in to check i would have never noticed. This is a scam and I do know this company has lawsuits regarding this. I want the full amount refunded.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account status incorrect
Consumer Complaint: To whom it may concern, RE : Synchrony/Amazon account XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX My name XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, I had an account with Synchrony/Amazon that went delinquent due to some medical issues while waiting on my social security to become active. The account was closed on XX/XX/2019 but I made a payment arrangement with and agreed upon monthly auto withdraw. This was a fixed payment arrangement in the amount of $ 48 monthly, and it was auto deducted every month. Synchrony violated our agreement and violated the Fair credit reporting act by, submitting. ( 16 ) 60-day lates and ( 2 ) 90-day lates that are all false because we made a new mutually agreed upon payment arrangement. I called Synchrony to question these false and on going lates and they confirmed I was never effectively late during the payment arrangement but that they had a policy that they would report lates anyway while we were in this arrangement. Synchrony states that I signed an agreement that stipulated these lates would continue, but there is no signed document. I requested a copy of the agreement they state I signed. Twice and they essentially refused to send it to me. They admitted on a recorded call that we did have a new payment agreement with a new fixed payment and that we honored the agreement and paid it all in full. Since we established a new payment agreement by phone, they have violated the Fair credit reporting act because the 3-credit bureau reporting requirement asks if Paid as agreed all payment were made on time and auto deducted by Synchrony. So, reporting 60-day lates and 90-day lates are lies and false reporting. They claimed it is a charge off, but I set the payment agreement before it was charged off. I have been defrauded, my credit score has been weighed down and my capacity to borrower as needed for my family has been diminished. But I believe their false reporting is a pattern that is harming Americans of which I happen to be a 100 % XXXX veteran. Such practices should be sanctioned, and an in-depth investigation should be done see how often Synchrony Bank has violated its customers rights in false reporting to harm its clients who have had hardships. Its hard not to see this as malicious intent and behavior by a company that should be helping their clients in hardship. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX esq. XXXX FTC

Issue: Closing your account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: I received an Alert Notice from XXXX that Synchrony Bank closed my CareCredit card. Today, XX/XX/XXXX2023, I was finally able to get through to CareCredit Customer Service. When I inquired why my account was closed, the CS Rep said, " the bank closed the card ''. Over and over and over again, I ask the CS Rep WHY my CareCredit card was closed explaining that I have had the card since XXXX, that my credit scores are in mid-800s, and that I had never missed or been late on any payments. She kept repeating that the bank closed the card. I then requested to speak to a Manager. XXXX XXXX then took the call and upon asking him why the card was closed, he repeated same line as the CS Rep . I then made it very clear to XXXX that I wanted an explanation for why the card was closed. XXXX then said, on a call that I recorded ( per NYS law ) that the account was closed because the card expired, which I found rather humorous since the CareCredit Card does not! expire nor is there an expiration date on the card. I then told XXXX that I wanted an explanation for why the card was closed. He further repeated what he said falsely claiming the card expired in XXXX and that that is why the card was closed. I then told XXXX if he did not provide an actual reason for why the card was closed, I would file a complaint with the CFPB. He repeated his claim that the card expired in XXXX and that that is why the card was closed, thus this complaint.

Consumer Complaint: I, just today, realized that XXXX XXXX is reporting the wrong amount as a negative on my credit report. I was initially contacted by their affiliate ( XXXX ) demanding {$1700.00}. They fraudulently and falsely claim to the credit bureaus an inflated amount of $ XXXX. This harms my credit and makes it look worse than reality. I have no agreement with XXXX XXXX, whatsoever, let alone one that allows them to charge me in addition to what Synchrony Bank believes that I owe them. Thus, XXXX XXXX CAN NOT claim to credit bureaus that I owe anything over {$1700.00}. In addition, the " debt '' is so old that they should not be reporting it at all anymore. This, too, harms my credit and causes me a great deal of damages. I am paying far too much for my car loan and for my credit cards now, as a result. XXXX is the ONLY negative on my report according to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. Thus, there is no one else to blame for higher interest rates and denied applications.
