Consumer Complaint: This debt collector engaged in abusive, deceptive and unfair practices of the FDCPA which it prohibits. They furnished his account that we didn't agree upon and i didn't sing an agreement on. A legal contract is signed by two parties and i did not participate in any of it. More so they didn't follow the proper 5 step validation procedure which make this unfair practices. according to the FDCPA I'm entitled to XXXX dollars per violation and clearly they violated my rights.

Consumer Complaint: For the month of XXXX I was charged a late fee. The reason my payment was late is I never received a paper statement and the fact that my dad was in the hospital for XXXX XXXX. I explained this reason and was told I signed up for paperless billing, which I did not. They werent compassionate when I told them my reason why. The refused to help me and would not remove the late fee. I filled complaints also with XXXX on Care Credit, no response.

Consumer Complaint: I opened a credit card through synchrony and LensCrafters about two years ago. Planned to use the card annually for my prescription eyewear. I used the card in XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX and paid both balances off, never missed a payment and paid more than the minimum due each month. I went to check my account yesterday and saw it was closed. They never even informed me of the closures. Contacted synchrony today and they told me they emailed me back in XXXX, I have many emails from synchrony but nothing stating my account was closed. They did not give me a good reason and the first person I chatted with tried to tell Me it was them decision of the credit bureaus to close my account and if I wanted to find out why I should call them. This is horrible tactics and upon researching they do this all the time to consumers. XXXX alone is full of complaints as is social media sites. This company should be barred from being able to be a creditor.

Issue: Fees or interest
Subissue: Unexpected increase in interest rate
Consumer Complaint: I had opened a lowes charge XX/XX/year> and made a purchase of {$2100.00} with a promotional no interest rate. I made monthly payments of {$100.00} every month through my XXXX XXXX XXXX despite not receiving statements because I knew I had a balance on this card. Synchrony bank is unable to provide me with any documentation stating when or how I was switched over to paperless statements. As a result of my statements going paperless I did not receive notification that I was nearing the end of the promotional period and was going to be assessed close to {$700.00} in interest charges. I also was not made aware that synchrony bank changed their po box that my payments were supposed to be sent to because they said they notified by email. This resulted in 3 payments being sent to a wrong po box that I had been using since I got the card and I am being assessed fees due to late payments despite the fact that the payments were sent on time to an address that I had been using for over a year.

Consumer Complaint: Purchase made XX/XX/XXXX at Value City XXXX financed through Synchrony Bank ( SB ). Terms were 36 equal monthly payments of {$180.00} with no interest if paid in full by XX/XX/XXXX. Payments made each and every month well before the due dates. SB statement closing date XX/XX/XXXX shows XX/XX/XXXX payment ( due XX/XX/XXXX ). SB statement closing date XX/XX/XXXX shows XX/XX/XXXX payment ( due XX/XX/XXXX ) and XX/XX/XXXX payment ( due XX/XX/XXXX ). SB statement closing date XX/XX/XXXX shows no payment for the one due XX/XX/XXXX because it already showed on SB closing date XX/XX/XXXX. SB imposed late fee of {$30.00} and showed two payments due. My letter to SB dated XX/XX/XXXX protested the late fee because my payment was not late. SB form letter in response simply explained that fees that may be assessed appeared on the back of each statement. SB statement closing date XX/XX/XXXX shows payments made XX/XX/XXXX ( due XX/XX/XXXX ) and duplicate payment made XX/XX/XXXX. ( I had adjusted automatic payments to SB for this account so that they would not be posted on the closing date and inadvertently sent the duplicate payment. ) This statement also shows an additional late fee of {$41.00} plus {$2.00} interest on " 'purchases '' -- no additional purchases have been made. My letter to SB dated XX/XX/XXXX again protested the imposition of the late fee and noted that I had not received a response to my XX/XX/XXXX letter. SB then sent a letter on XX/XX/XXXX stating that " after review '' the {$30.00} late fee would be credited to my account. SB statement closing date XX/XX/XXXX shows the late fee being credited on XX/XX/XXXX and payment made XX/XX/XXXX ( due XX/XX/XXXX ). It also imposed a new late fee of {$41.00} plus {$2.00} interest on purchases -- no additional purchases have been made. SB statement closing date XX/XX/XXXX shows payment made XX/XX/XXXX ( due XX/XX/XXXX ) a refund of a late fee of {$41.00} plus a new late fee of {$41.00} and interest on purchases of {$2.00} -- no additional purchases have been made. We have received nearly daily automatic text messages and emails about our account being past due. The payments have regularly been made in advance of the due date. I believe SB 's practices are inappropriate and the imposition of late fees and interest has been unwarranted. I have not been able to resolve this dispute.
