Consumer Complaint: Please do see my letter to XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX & XXXX of the Synchrony Financial Company. I do possess a Pep Boys Synchrony Car Care Card which is in " Good Standing. '' I did request a " Credit Line Increase '' to bring my antiqueXXXX XXXX XXXX to my local Pep Boys store for a Brake Repair and a new set of Tires. Synchrony denied my credit-line increase because they have taken the illegal and unlawful position that I am a " great credit risk '' based upon the " assumption '' that as a senior-citizen of XXXX years of age, I will not make my monthly Synchrony Card payments. There is absolutely, no, legal basis for a foundation of assumption and speculation in the American Judicial system that an American-citizen is, or, will be, a great credit-risk to a company, based upon an " opinion '' of some backroom want-to-be, XXXX XXXX hotshots. The legal basis for my Complaint is " Age Discrimination. ''

Consumer Complaint: Paypal credit through synchrony bank changed my credit due date unilaterally, without my knowledge or consent. Then they charged me a late fee because I made a payment on the date I have in my calendar, which turned out to be one day late. I believe this is a deceptive emerging pattern of practice because I always pay off this particular card within XXXX mo of purchase because they offer 0 % interest if paid off within 6 months of purchase. By changing my due date, they can then start charging me back interest due to an alleged breech of terms. Please look into this CFPB

Consumer Complaint: I moved to a new State ( GA ) and went into Steinmart to make a cash purchase. The cashier convinced me to open a credit card to get a promotional deal and advised me to pay it off after the first bill if I don't need it. I submitted my temporary address and my permanent address, where the statement was supposed to be mailed. Steinmart mailed the Statement to the wrong address so I never received it. I finally went to the store location to pay it off and was told that they were mailing to the wrong mailing address. Immediately paid the balance in store and closed the account. This was an error on Steinmarts part.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I submitted a payment in full for an account administered by Synchrony Financial for a 0 % APR loan from XXXX ( a company that sells musical instruments ). My account was marked " closed. '' However, I noticed in XXXX that I was still being charged monthly for the account, even though it said it was closed. I contacted customer service and was assured that the account was closed and I was no longer being charged. Today ( XX/XX/XXXX ) I noticed that I have in fact been charged monthly since XXXX, even though the account continues to be marked " closed. '' I contacted customer service today, and they informed me that my payment on XX/XX/XXXX had been rejected. Therefore, they had raised my APR to 29.99 % and begun charging me monthly minimum payments at that rate since then. I was never informed of this decision, and in fact was even reassured by customer service. I also did not agree to make automatic minimum payments on this account.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX issued by *Synchrony Bank was closed on XXXX due to inactivity. We had no idea this would be done and had the card to use for times when items were needed. Upon calling, the rep stated the conditions were in the agreements. They are not and these companies are using algorithims that they can not explain. They *Synchrony Bank XXXX also lowered my limit on Sam 's Club card driving up the credit limit ratio to 97 %! without notification. I was supposed to receive a letter after I called and never did. I was told to reapply for XXXX XXXX! why should I when the interest will be higher due to their actions. The closing of the account hit the credit bureau and decreased my score substantially to the poor range because they did not report as inactivity but made it look like it was just closed. Synchrony seems to be on a trend with this as theiXXXX XXXX site names several such incidents of people who had no marks and whose credit took a dive. They appear to be trying to get more money by lowering your score, having you reapply with a bad score and pay higher interest rates. Their cards already have high rates like usury fees and now these antics are making it worse for people just trying to live and who pay the cards monthly only to be punished.

Consumer Complaint: I am filing this report in hopes that you will be able to help me get this matter resolved once and for all. I have been trying to get this matter resolved for almost 8 months now to no avail. In XXXX purchased a pair of pants at JCPenney for {$48.00} with my credit card. When I received my monthly billing statement for XXXX I sent my payment for {$48.00} on XXXX. Synchrony Bank received my payment on XXXX. The due date on my statement was XXXX, thus they received my payment well before it was due. In XX/XX/XXXX, I received a letter dated XXXX ( letter # XXXX attached ) from Synchrony Bank advising me They had not received a payment for the past due amount ( {$48.00} ) on my credit card. I immediately called them and advised them that through my research I found that they had received by payment on XXXX and it was credited to the wrong account. Synchrony Bank checked into this matter and sent me a letter dated XX/XX/XXXX ( letter # XXXX attached ), advising me that they had indeed received my payment on XXXX and the payment was corrected where applicable the had adjusted the amount of any interest charges or fees that were assessed to my account as a result of the delay in posting my payment. At this point it appeared that everything was taken care of, so I thought, apparently I was wrong. I received another letter in XXXX dated XXXX ( letter # XXXX attached ). I called Synchrony Bank once again and finally on XXXX I was able to speak to someone at the bank. Per their letter they advised me that they had lowered my credit line to {$140.00} because of an external credit score they received from the Consumer reporting agency. The next thing I know I receive another letter from Synchrony ( letter # XXXX attached ) advising me I was required to make a payment on my account on the {$120.00} balance that was past due. At this point I was livid, I called Synchrony Bank again. As you can see they would never call me they would always send me a letter. They sent me another letter dated XXXX ( letter # XXXX attached ) advising me that they were unable to remove these fees and interest charges. They also stated that information about how the interest charges and late payment fees are assessed and how these fees may be avoided can be found in my card holder agreement as well as the payment information section on my statement. How can I be assessed late fees and interest each month when my payment of {$48.00} was sent them by my bank on XXXX and received by Synchrony Bank on XXXX well before the due date of XXXX. I should never have been assessed these charges and that is why I am asking Synchrony Bank to credit my account for all the late fees and interest charges they assessed on my account. I sent the payment in well before it was due. To make matters worse I received another letter dated XXXX ( letter # XXXX attached ) which is identical to ( letter # XXXX attached ). They did change the date on the letter from XXXX to XXXX. Both letters # XXXX and # XXXX were of no use to me. Then they sent me still another letter dated XXXX ( letter # XXXX attached ) advising me that it may take them one or two billing cycles to look into my account and respond to me, Today is XXXX and I still have not heard anything from Synchrony Bank/ JCPenney Credit Card Services It is almost 3 months that I am wating for a reply from them. I need to get this matter resolved as soon as possible. I dont want my credit score to be hurt in anyway by this matter. I suspect that may already have been. Thank you for any help you may be able to give me.
