Consumer Complaint: I have lived in my home since XXXX. It was bought for approximately XXXX. During this time home equity loans were taken by my partner. My partner died in XXXX and the mortgage was transferred into my name. I paid my mortgage on time every month until XXXX when I feel behind on payments. The mortgage was transferred to Select Portfolio Servicing at some point. Somehow, even though I have been in this home for almost 30 years and the value has risen to about XXXX, they are telling me I only have XXXX in equity and still a balance of XXXX. My mortgage was also raised over the past years, from {$2400.00} to now {$3000.00} a month. I think I have been preyed upon because they know I am elderly. I would like some resolution to find out how I still owe so much and have so little equity.

Last XX/XX/2023 I did a modification with the mortgage company ( SPS-Select Portfolio Servicing Inc. ) XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX UT XXXX ) Phone Number XXXX Till now they have kept asking me for the same documentation for more than six months My pay stubs Bank statements Taxes Date of hiring and more and more documentation like Military leave and I never served in the army!!!!! Consumer Complaint: I have owned my home for 21 years. My mortgage payment is {$3700.00} per month it includes interest, taxes and insurance. My interest rate is fixed at 3.875. XX/XX/2023 I received an escrow analysis which said my taxes went up {$30.00} per month and that i have a 2023 shortage of {$350.00} My new monthly mortgage payment jumped to {$4300.00}. It makes no sense at all. When i called in XXXX i was told by the representative that it didnt make sense to him either and he would ask for another escrow analysis to be done. I never heard back. I got a new statement that shows no changes made so i called Select Portfolio Servicing and they said they are charging me extra so i dont have a shortage in the future. How is this legal? {$700.00} plus increase a month for a {$30.00} a month tax increase? Property taxes were due to the XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX on XXXXXXXX - XXXXXXXX : knowing that SPS had not yet paid my real estate taxes, I notified them of the omission. XXXX XXXX : I paid my taxes myself and submitted the receipt from the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX tax assessor to SPS - XXXX : I spoke to XXXX, a customer service representative from SPS, to request a escrow refund to reimburse me for the taxes I paid. She told me that everything would be resolved by XXXX. I received no further communications from SPS. - XXXXXXXX : I spoke to XXXX, another customer service representative from SPS, to request a escrow refund to reimburse me for the taxes I paid. Unfortunately this exercise has been ongoing for over 4 months, and during this process interest is accruing. My score went down XXXX points on XX/XX/XXXX due to SPS reporting my account as being XXXX days late. I have never been late on my principal and interest payments with SPS. I'm afraid I have to disagree with the monthly estimated escrow assessment performed in XX/XX/2023. Also, I'm afraid I have to disagree with the calculations provided when I dispute the estimate. My real estate taxes are only {$550.00} every XXXX months. My experience with SPS has been horrible since my mortgage was sold to you in XX/XX/2023. My mortgage is getting sold again

Consumer Complaint: After receiving my year end escrow letter and feeling it was way too high. I ran the numbers as per their letter and how it was calculated. Found it to be wrong. I sent them, SPS Select Portfolio , Inc a letter explaining my findings on XX/XX/2023. I then received an email that they have my letter. I have called several times asking for someone to go over the calculations with me and I am told it is not complete yet. However, they are going to want my large, wrong payment on XX/XX/XXXX. Need this recalculated quickly as I am XXXX, and the high payment will take away my food money. By law they can, only hold about XXXX. I could not upload their letter but I am sending you my letter in response.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX- Select Portfolio Servicing, Inc ( SPS ) sent me an approval for a temporary repayment plan for the monthly amount of {$1200.00}. The plan was from XX/XX/XXXXXXXX to XX/XX/XXXX. Upon accepting this repayment plan, it was advised to make each payment on time and no information would be supplied to the credit bureaus until all payments were completed. In addition, it was further explained to call in upon completion of the last repayment plan payment and confirm the payment was received and the positive payments would be report to the three credit bureaus. Upon completing the repayment plans last payment on XX/XX/XXXXXXXX called in and was told to resume regular payments of {$700.00}. Made several regular payments and then received a letter of {$4.00}, XXXX was due in one lump sum in XX/XX/XXXX. This was to first time speaking to XXXX Manager XXXX who explained during that time approx {$2500.00} of that balance was already paid and if possible to continue to make payments as the amount was too small for a modification. Continued to make payments. It was explained another {$5.00} was due as one payment after the company returned the XX/XX/XXXXXXXX payment sent XXXX XXXX saying house was in foreclosure and no information was received. Spoke to XXXX Manager again ( second time since having this home have we had a conversation. During our XX/XX/XXXXXXXX had conversation it was explained she had been on XXXX XXXX and had asked someone else to assist with the account. She also explained that I could not make any more payments unless it was the entire {$5.00} or I was approved for another modification. Asked about the over {$3000.00} payments could that not be applied to this balloon payment that appeared out of no where. The {$3000.00} was not returned. Was told she would check on it. Later informed by her all that could be offered was another repayment plan of $ XXXX and upon the first payment the house would not longer be in foreclosure by XX/XX/XXXX. The initial payment to the new repayment plan was made on time XX/XX/XXXX via XXXX XXXX and called to speak with the XXXX Manager to ensure the payment was received. Confirmed receipt of payment. Was informed she would contact the attorney and rescind the foreclosure and send a letter for records. After not receiving a letter called customer service and was informed it was an attempt to collect a debt as the house was in foreclosure and was note ever removed from foreclosure and further more no payments could be made to the home as the XXXX payment was not made. Attempted to contact the Attorney office and their recording states they do not take calls. Sent several emails to the attorney and no return call or letter. The XXXX payment was confirmed received by the XXXX XXXX and two different representatives after receiving a letter on XX/XX/XXXXXXXX stating " You were offers a plan but did not make the required plan payments '' This is not correct. Also as of XX/XX/XXXX, SPS started reporting on my consumer report the payments are {$700.00} and has not been paid. Made over 4 attempts with other representative for XXXX XXXX XXXX to call and she has not once called back. Now receiving letters every day from Select Portfolio Servicing, Inc with inconsistent data. Letters vary from pay $ XXXX, to {$5.00} to Loss Mitigation. Took the advise from the XXXX to apply for a grant to XXXX and was denied as another person 's name was associated to my home who did not purchase this home or had any connection to this house. As of XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX has not called. This is causing great XXXX as over {$25000.00} has been sent to save house and not properly applied to the missing payments. Lastly upon calling early this month XX/XX/XXXX, I was informed by representative XXXX another payment plan could be applied or the missing payments could be applied to the end of the loan so that the account would be current. Recent letter received stated the company could not do anything for me as the house is in loss mitigation. No money has been returned and due to this error my consumer report is displaying inaccurate information and I can not refinance the home due to this error.

Consumer Complaint: The company misapplied payments. The problem may have started in XXXX but I'm ignoring that. I requested a payoff quote in XX/XX/XXXX and started paying additional principal since I had a month where that quote was correct, which was through XX/XX/XXXX. The company mis-applied a payment to XX/XX/XXXX, which I noticed on XX/XX/XXXX and requested it be moved to additional principal. I then made payment through customer service for payoff toward the principal and wired more than the payoff amount ( I believe ) which they received on XX/XX/XXXX. Since the principal balance was incorrect, I had to make a big leap of faith that my calculations were correct. They have not yet made the correction, I don't know where the payoff wire is sitting, and I can not get a contact method to contact the payoff department. I have been told that I'm going to have to request yet another payoff quote after the fix has been made, but there is no activity on making the account correct and I can't verify the payoff amount I've sent in is sufficient since I'm not allowed to speak with or contact the Payoff Department. I need to know that enough funds have been sent in to payoff this loan, I need to know how to contact the Payoff Department, and I need the misapplied payment to be fixed. If I need another payoff quote, I need that expedited.
