Consumer Complaint: In XXXX XXXX a letter was sent to me stating that my escrow payment was increasing by a large amount that was not justified by property tax or insurance increases. I called the company in XXXX and asked why such a large increase. I was not given an answer and I asked for a supervisor. When the supervisor came on the phone, she stated that they have the right to increase it and would not give me a Justifiable reason. I told her my property tax and insurance did not increase by that much to Justify such a large increase in payment. She ended up hanging up on me without giving me a reason for the increase. I have tried to call them back and have not gotten any returned calls from management as requested. I can not afford the increase. They have increased it every year Ive had them. They increased it a large amount last year and did not give me a reason. Now this year they increased it even more. They are increasing my payment to make my mortgage unfavorable because my interest rate is so low. Thats why they push refinancing which is not an option at this point. I should not be forced to refinance by a company that just keeps increasing my mortgage payment every year to make it unaffordable.

Consumer Complaint: I am unsure of how I have gotten to this point of this juncture as I was very persistent with my communications with my Servicer SPS Servicing. We spoke on occasions that the pandemic influenced moratorium exercises did cause a bit of delinquency. I thought the outcome at this juncture would be much better after conversing with Relationship Manager XXXX and Obudsman XXXX, in which they assured me of no issue in assisting with retention. On the XXXX or XXXX of XXXX I sent in my modification documents and I am simply asking for them to reinstate my mortgage due to hardship. My daughter is still in XXXX XXXX, and brother still scheduled for a XXXX XXXX. Currently I am taking a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX so that I could be an assistant to my brothers ' needs. I am in a hardship situation at this moment coming out of the Pandemic with all the other issues surrounding me.

Consumer Complaint: This company, Select Portfolio Services or SPS, purchase my mortgage from the bank who give me the original loan. Since day 1 problems arise. They send me the loan information from others borrowers as they state I was one of them. The letters they send me contain personal information and loan numbers of those people. I assume mine was also send to who knows who. It was very difficult for me to make the SPS employees to understand that I was not any of those people, also to find and correct my name, address and my real loan number. Besides they corrected my info on the following month they charge me the loan of unknown person plus my own loan. They took 5 seconds to debit that money out of my account but 5 days to return my money after I finally prove them that I was not a woman in Texas and that they charge me the loan of another person unknown to me. Now, and this is my problem and the reason of this complain, they do not pay the City Taxes on XX/XX/2023, they have an escrow account with enough money to do it. City threat me with put a lien on the property, sending me a letter with unpaid balance. I call SPS one more time to try to resolve this new issue. I spoke several times with multiples employees and supervisors, always the answer was : we escalate your problem, but they never send any payment to the city. I ended paying the taxes from my pocket. {$3000.00} extra to avoid the lien on the property. After I spoke with another SPS supervisor, he assures me they send a check to the city. He actually gives me a tracking number for the check to the city but the check never leaves SPS office, as I call XXXX multiples times to verified, XXXX state that the label was created but the package never leaves the SPS office. After one more call and another conversation with other supervisor he states that they saw online that taxes were pay, they assume the issue it was resolved but it was me who pay, no SPS. I spoke with another supervisor and explain this. He says he understood and they will return the money back to me, one more time he escalates the problem but I never receive any money back or the city receive any check. I request them to cancel the escrow and return my money as I will take care of taxes and insurance myself to avoid any confrontation with the City. I fallow all requirements and send all paperwork requested by SPS but one more time they escalate the problem but nothing happen. At this point I decide to no pay them anymore the mortgage. Now they call me every day asking for payment but they never pay the city or return my escrow so I will not pay anything till this problem get resolved. Please help, this is very frustrating as I can't do anything on my end, they are going to damage my credit or maybe they are trying to get the property with this dirty game. Another problem is that this month taxes must be pay to city again and if they do not pay it one more time, I will have to pay it myself one more time. Please Help Thank you

Consumer Complaint: In accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting act Select Portfolio Servicing regarding Loan Account # XXXX, has violated my rights. 15 U.S.C 1681 section 602 A. States I have the right to privacy. 15 U.S.C 1681 Section 604 A Section 2 : It also states a consumer reporting agency can not furnish a account without my written instructions 15 U.S.C 1666B : A creditor may not treat a payment on a credit card account under an open end consumer credit plan as late for any purpose Select Portfolio Servicing was contacted by me dozens of times over almost a year period and never resolved the issue on their end which resulted in them reporting a late payment on my credit. After a dozen or so attempts to rectify the issue with them, they refused to acknowledge their error and correct the inaccurate reporting. In the 15 years I've had lines of credit, I have had a flawless payment history and have never missed a payment so this error has drastically affected my credit score and has caused damage to my ability to use credit in the future. When I requested them to remove the late payment, they stood by their decision and refused to correct the reporting.

Consumer Complaint: After analyzing my payments with my accountant, we both noticed unusual Principal/Interest/Escrow payment applications. My mortgage is a Conventional Loan with a 4.25 % interest rate. My balance {$310000.00} and only {$370.00} ( approximately ) is going to principal, and {$1000.00} is going to interest. When I called to ask about this payment application, the SPS representative claimed that my loan modification with a former lender in XXXX changed the amortization schedule and they were applying funds according to this new schedule. Furthermore, SPS informed me that I somewhere, somehow was - {$7000.00} in my escrow account with negligible increases in Homeowners Insurance and Taxes. They increased my mortgage payment from {$2100.00} to {$2700.00}. They stated that they " no longer '' spread out escrow shortages over 24 months, and shortened this repayment period to 12 months thus my significant increase in my mortgage. Strangely, after living in my home for 26 years, I have never paid more for my mortgage, yet I have never seen less go towards my principal. And most importantly in the year XXXX I paid a total of {$32000.00} ( that is {$2700.00} a month! ) to my mortgage company and less than {$5000.00} went to my principal ... over {$10000.00} went to my Escrow, and they are still claiming a shortage. My taxes and interest are XXXX XXXX. This is a signficant change in my mortgage payment and the increases are unreasonable. Most importantly the way the are applying my payments is deceptive and a breach of contract.

Consumer Complaint: My escrow deduction per month was extremely high. I contacted the mortgage company several times to have the escrow account audited. This was finally done in XXXX of 2023 and a letter was sent to me XX/XX/XXXX with the result of the audit. It was found that they had calculated our monthly escrow deposit wrong and that i was due a XXXX refund and the escrow amount per month was reduced. I have contacted the mortgage company no less than XXXX times and am being told that they will send check... .over and over again with no check being sent. When i have asked when they keep telling me it will be another 30 days. Reading online it appears that federal guidelines give the company XXXX to make the refund. We are 3 months past that.

Consumer Complaint: I have been trying to ask for transition assistance to avoid foreclosure from a divorce. I am on title and my ex spouse is the borrower. From my divorce decree. With my realtor I have sent over all required documents to postpone the sale date of XX/XX/2024. I am also going through a service transfer to XXXX. Because of the current sale date and the fact I am going through a service transfer I do not know the exact close of escrow. If I have to use an attorney to stop the sale date I will but I am trying very hard to avoid that. Based on mortgage banking guidelines SPS has all required documents need. Please check the XXXX. My property is PENDING. Again I am in an active escrow. I have been trying for a month to request the sale date be pushed back after being denied a loan modification. I am in a current service transfer.

Consumer Complaint: I obtained a loan with XXXX Mortgage in XXXX and my loan was transferred shortly after closing to SPS XXXX My loan has an amount of {$9000.00} currently in escrow and there is an overage of {$6700.00} that is due back to me from an overpayment of my escrow. I have requested a refund of the overpaid since XX/XX/2023 and each time I have called in I have received customer no service. There has been three escrow analysis done pertaining to my loan and yet each call has resulted in false information. SPS has said they issued a refund on two occasions and each occasion before a check being placed in the mail there has been a stop payment placed by SPS. I in good faith have never made a late payment, skipped a payment or been in default of my loan but this is creating a financial hardship on me and my family. I had to forgo my son continuing college because I was not able to satisfy his tuition payment because of this issue. I have spoken to the Ombudsman department with SPS and I received no assistance with them other than apologies and call back next week. I have been forced to request to close my escrow because of this egregious issue and am also reaching out to my congressman pertaining to this.
