Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX is trying to collect on debt not owed by XXXX XXXX. The debt was opened XX/XX/XXXX by World Financial Group and the other one was on XXXX XXXX XXXX. Both debt was by original owned by World Financial Group, which have no agreement, and have never done any contract or transaction with them. The amounts for XX/XX/XXXX is for {$1900.00} and is reported as open on the XXXX XXXX credit reports. The other amount is for XX/XX/XXXX for the amount of {$1900.00} and is stated open under XXXX XXXX When I disputed the first amount for {$1900.00} for XXXX, XXXX XXXX did not respond back instead they added a new one for the XXXX which was not on my report previously. This deceptively added a new unknown debt to my credit report from source I have never dealt with.

Consumer Complaint: I was threatened to be sued by Portfolio Recovery account # XXXX without being provided with proof that I owed such debt. According to the 15 U.S.C. 1681 law there should not have been any damages on my credit report which was a defamation of my character. I was harassed at least 3-4 times a day by phone. I was eventually served court papers and was advised that I must pay such debt or risk being garnished. Although, I tried obtaining proof of debt prior to being served legal paperwork. On XX/XX/21 I agreed to settle the debt to avoid a judgement against me. I was already laid off my job as a result of covid and this additional burden was too much. I made a decision to agree to something that was not valid. I XXXX XXXX at the time and the harassment caused emotional distress which resulted to me having a XXXX XXXXXXXX. However, when I contacted them, the information they have does not match and they are unable to share or provide ANY information linking me to this account. This is 100 % against XXXX policy and they should be fined for trying to collect a debt that is not owed.

Consumer Complaint: I sent two responses and instead of responding back with a letter to settle the debt Portfolio Recovery Associates took legal action against me. This was as if I did not respond and cooperate when I in fact did. Which violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. This is illegal debt collection tactics. They filed a lawsuit with no intent to settle the debt with me after not one response but two. This company should not ignore the CFPB, s rules just because they are a dominant market. Especially when these responses were not a refusal to pay which is stated this was to settle the debt without a court cost but they felt they did not need to respond to me with a settled price after deductions of proof of my receipts to the original debtor. They feel they can charge me the full amount and disregard my previous payments made before they decided to get involved and pick up the debt. Also portfolio recovery associates stated they would provide the request of proof of documentation to settle the debt which they infact did not and instead took legal action against me. Also i even sent in a certified letter and they still felt no need to respond back to me. XXXX XXXX XXXX thinks they can collect debt from people without reasoning before taking legal action. Even if you reply with a response to there debt collecting tactics.

Consumer Complaint: I was sent a collections notice from the Portfolio Recovery on XX/XX/23 On XX/XX/23 I sent them a demand for investigation under the Fair Credit Reporting Act section 623 subsection 8D Proving that they have any rights to collect alleged debt. I received verification of debt on XX/XX/23 I then sent a second demand on XX/XX/23 explaining my first letter was a proof of contract and not a request for verification. I received back a letter explaining that's all the information I would receive. They have since placed my information on the credit reporting agencies and directly are affecting my credit history. on XX/XX/23 I received notice from XXXX and Assoc out of XXXX Tx notifying me that I had been placed for collection with their company.

This company has not validated the debt and continues to report it and call my phone. I want them to stop contacting me and remove this debt from my credit report because they have not sent me a contract between us showing information about the debt. They repeatedly call my phone harassing me, but have not sent me any information I requested to validate this debt. This has been ongoing for a couple of years to no avail.

My guest asked what the issue was and Portfolio gave my guest my full name, address and what they are trying to collect. They gave another person my whole information. Please delete this of my credit. Reparations for harassment and giving out my whole information to another person.
