Issue: Managing an account

Subissue: Problem using a debit or ATM card

Consumer Complaint: I have PNC Bank. Since XX/XX/2019, I have been compromised a multitude of times. I even opened up a brand new account with them. I still CONTINUE to be compromised. Their security is faulty and lacking, and I've lost THOUSANDS of dollars with PNC. They haven't done anything to better secure my account, they just keep doing the same thing over and over again, with the same result -- my account by compromised. Someone has been using the " card free ATM access '' to withdraw money, has been using XXXX and XXXX to transfer funds, and using it at various retail locations, including XXXX XXXX. I've been compromised so many times, I lost track. I can't even list every time I've been compromised because it's been THAT excessive. Recently, there's been over {$100.00} taken out of my account by XXXX " XXXX '' or whatever her XXXX name is. I can provide records of the transactions I did not make starting with the new account back to XX/XX/2019 upon request. I would have to go through with my bank and go through which transactions I disputed ( there's too many to count!!! ). They haven't given me any credit to my account, resulting in me not being able to pay bills. Now with my fiance out of work due to COVID-19, it's even more critical I get this resolved. I want my hard-earned money back NOW.

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem

Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report

Consumer Complaint: I have made numerous phone calls and letter to PNC Bank and to the credit bureaus such as XXXX and XXXX. PNC Bank has been reporting an non data information to these credit bureaus listed above for the dates of XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX. In event of the information being erroneous and out-dated, I have been experiencing a amount of XXXX and XXXX due to my current status of a home loan. I was denied credit due to the non- data information on my credit report. On these dates above, supposedly should be representing is ( payments on time or OK status ). My credit is very important to me and has been working very diligently towards this situation. I am requesting that PNC Bank, XXXX, and XXXX please work together in correcting this issue.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement

Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement

Consumer Complaint: I disputed some transactions on my PNC Bank account. On a recorded phone call I was given the expectation that my account balance would be restored in two business days, this was on XX/XX/XXXX. On a second recorded call a few days later I was again given the expectation that my account balance would be restored in 3-4 business days, after the phone call I was locked out of my account this was XX/XX/XXXX. It is XX/XX/XXXX and my account balance has not been restored. PNC needs to be held accountable for the expectation that they set for me as the customer.

Issue: Problem when making payments

Subissue: Problem during payment process

Consumer Complaint: Previously set up automatic payments for a credit card with PNC Bank, but recently received a delinquency notification on credit report. The automatic payments had not been going through the previous two months, which was the root cause of the delinquency. The bank was unable to provide any history or data regarding when I set up the automatic payments and whether I ended them.

Issue: Problem when making payments

Subissue: Problem during payment process

Consumer Complaint: I made a payment to PNC Credit Card on XX/XX/20 in the amount of {$2500.00}. The payment posted XX/XX/XXXX. The funds cleared my XXXX checking account on XX/XX/20. PNC has now advised that despite those funds clearing my XXXX checking account - they will not give me the available credit because I do not bank with PNC. It seems that PNC 's policy is disparate in nature because I do not have a PNC checking or savings account with their institution. My larger question is how you can place a hold on an account when the funds have cleared my checking account? They also explained that each time I make a payment - this will continue to occur. This policy is discriminatory and predatory as it seems I must open a checking account in order to get credited timely.

Issue: Problem caused by your funds being low

Subissue: Non-sufficient funds and associated fees

Consumer Complaint: During this time of the coronavirus, I have been unable to leave my home due to a compromised XXXX XXXX. I have been unable to add funds to my PNC account. On XX/XX/2020, due to my account falling under {$500.00}, PNC charged me a {$7.00} fee. I tried to contact them online to receive a phone number. The line was busy when I called and then while waiting the call was dropped. No chat fee available. I have had the hardest time trying to contact them and am unable to go into a local branch. During this pandemic, fees should be waved due to people like myself who can not make it to a bank to deposit cash. Also, chat and online features should be made available if call lines are busy.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement

Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX I was notified of an unauthorized charge of XXXX by the collection department at PNC. I was unaware of such a charge. The charges were from XXXX but the notices went to the clinic where my colleague there did not notify me of these charges. It was the other colleague who made the charges that were unauthorized. The credit bureaus were notified, police report filed, account closed, contacted PNC bank and I we had a binding agreement signed by XXXX XXXX ( colleague ) that he would be responsible for all liabilities/debt incurred by the practice which includes the card that he charged. BUT after all of this PNC credit department is still contacting me to repay the unauthorized charges.

Issue: Problem caused by your funds being low

Subissue: Non-sufficient funds and associated fees

Consumer Complaint: I was charged a {$15.00} fee from my checking account at PNC on XX/XX/2020. I was not told what the fee was charged for, and I did not receive an alert that it was charged -- I only discovered it when looking over my bank statement after the fact. When I contacted the company, they told me that the fee was charged due to insufficient funds in my account, despite the fact that I had over {$8000.00} in my combined checking and savings accounts at the time. I received no alerts or warnings that the funds in my account were below the required amount ; I was not even aware that there was a required minimum amount. PNC 's representative ( who, I should add, did the best she could given the situation ) told me that this would have been in the literature I received when opening the account. But I opened the account eight years ago when I was XXXX years old, and as far as I can tell the minimum balance requirements are not clearly stated anywhere else.

Issue: Applying for a mortgage or refinancing an existing mortgage

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: I applied the refinance through PNC Mortgage couple months ago. The loan application was preapproved and appraisal was done. However, couple weeks later, a mail was received saying the loan was denied. I tried to call the loan agent. He never picked up my phone or return my phone call back. I attempted to call multiply times to try to explain that some of the information that showing in the application was not correct during the application process and after the I received the mail. No responses. And the problem of insufficient income causing the loan to be rejected was never communicated to me before the appraisal appointment was set and after the loan denial. I wasted around 700 dollars for a non useful appraisal.

Issue: Managing an account

Subissue: Problem using a debit or ATM card

Consumer Complaint: I lost my debit card Thursday night. That following Friday I received a call from pnc telling me that there was some suspicious activity on my account. I realized that I longer had my debit card during the conversation and the representative closed my card and said that I had to come into a branch to dispute the charges. I visited a branch and disputed the charges. I do not know how to dispute was filed, I never stated that I authorized someone to use my debit card. I did not give anyone my debit card, nor give them consent to use it. It was lost on Thirsty Thursday. This is a really big inconvenience for me especially due to the COVID-19 outbreak. My family will have to be in quarantine and I need all access to my funds. If this is not quickly resolved I will not hesitate to escalate this issue even further. Thanks in advance
