Consumer Complaint: A check dated XX/XX/19 in the amount of {$9500.00} was written on a XXXX account and send to the payee, XXXX XXXX XXXX but the check was fraudulently altered and deposited at PNC Bank. The check copy clearly shows the alteration, indicating that PNC was grossly negligent in allowing the altered check to be cashed or deposited. A fraud case was opened by XXXX but according to XXXX, PNC has refused to respond. A complaint was also filed against XXXX but they did not provide any additional information to the account holder or to CFPB. XXXX says that their counsel has sent a demand to PNC for return of the funds. They also suggested that a complaint against PNC be filed. The cancelled check copy should provide account information at PNC.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/XXXX - I visited a PNC branch in XXXX, VA to close all accounts as they've been unused and dormant. The representative refused to help as she was going on break, but explained I could close the accounts through the PNC Online portal. There is NOT an easy 'button ' for this and they suggest sending an email. I did send the email and requested all accounts be closed ( personal checking and reserve - XXXX balance ). XX/XX/XXXX - I receive a statement email from PNC. I contact their Rep via XXXX and demand all accounts be closed, still unused and dormant. THEY HAVE STILL NOT COMPLIED AND THE ACCOUNTS REMAIN OPEN. Now - I NEED ALL ACCOUNTS CLOSED!!!

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2020 I called to received statements from PNC, which I been an account holder for 4 yrs plus. Spoke to a very nice representative she verified my address never mention it would be a charge for them to send me out statements for {$210.00}. My account was in the negative at the time when I made this call, so I didn't have the XXXX for the representative to even charge my account, which made my account in the negative and also dealing with another dispute with PNC with another merchant taking money out of my account anyways. The representative should have seen that my account was in the negative and in escalation from a dispute and didn't have the money to charge for the statements. So she took money I never had and didn't make me aware of the amount of the fee. So basically she charge my account without making me aware and took money that was not even in my account to take. I called to speak to a supervisor, I spoke to XXXX XXXX he denied and stated that its in the paperwork when I open up my account that its a charge. Then I spoke with a manager XXXX XXXX, she stated she would have asked to see if it was a charge. PNC is not understanding to be able to charge someones account rather you are the bank or just the merchant you have to authorize the amount and also have the amount to charge I did'nt even have the money to take.

Consumer Complaint: My debit card was attacked twice in two months causing a slew of problems with paying my bills. On one particular weekend, a few of my bills came out that I was not prepared for after this cyber attack. PNC ending up charging me 4 over draft fees totaling over 140 $ over the weekend. I promptly paid the money for the bills the following Monday. PNC has not been willing to work with me and as a XXXX with no money. I see this as stealing from the poor. PNC also without hesitation will change the terms and agreements to your account.

Consumer Complaint: Original mortgage sold ( XXXX ) to PNC Bank in XX/XX/2019. Received letter mid XXXX informing us of the sale. Contacted Both banks to confirm. Asked PNC if auto payment would transfer, they said yes. A week later we received a payment book in mail. I called PNC again to verify everything transferred, this rep said auto payments dont transfer. Asked what we needed to do so our payment would be on time. Rep said we would have to pick either the XXXX or the XXXX to have our payment automatically transferred. I said that our original loan was for the XXXX. She said that that was their policy. I asked her twice if I completed the paperwork if it would be in effect before our next payment became due, she told me it would. I checked our regular bank today and the payment had not been taken out. Called PNC again too see why, rep said that it would not take effect until XX/XX/XXXX and they sent letter yesterday. I told her I had completed all paperwork they requested by the deadline they said they needed it. Now our payment is late. This has been more frustrating than the initial purchase and closing of the original loan. Not only did PNC change due date, they changed the amount due from the original loan. Im not a lawyer but there should be laws to protect consumers against this practice.

Consumer Complaint: Om XX/XX/XXXX, I went to my local bank branch, PNC at XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, NC XXXX. I needed documents from an account I recently closed in XX/XX/2019. The account number ends in XXXX. I asked for documents and records from this account. I was told that the Manager of the branch stated that I could not access any documents or information from this account because the account was closed in XX/XX/2019. I also asked for an authorization form so that I could give a 3rd party access to this account and permission to speak with bank representatives on my behalf. I was told there was no way I could give PNC permission to release information to a 3rd party and that a 3rd party would have to subpoena such information. My son who has my Power of Attorney also asked for the information about this account and he was also refused. He was told that the Power of Attorney needed to be reviewed by the legal department even though it was recorded at the register of deeds office on XX/XX/2019. I do not understand why I can not get access to my own account, even though it was closed a few months ago. I do not understand why I can not give permission to a 3rd party to access account information. I do have another active account at PNC.

Our office close to you will be completed estimated three months from now, so the position and job done for now is work from home till the office is completed, The office location will be disclose to you next 2 week and ( NOTE THAT ) As soon as you are confirmed qualified, you will be needing the complete office equipment to setup a mini office at home. After telling me the history and things that need here is what they send to me, Okay you scored ( 96 percent out of 100 and above average ) on the interview questions answered. Congratulations! The good news is ... .You have just been confirmed qualified for this position. You are now offered the job position ... You are HIRED! You are welcome to " XXXX XXXX XXXX. ". You are now given a chance to show your commitment, charisma, diligence and be a productive employee. After the main information regarding the job opportunity, they send this Welcome to the Company, The company will provide you with all the necessary materials including a XXXX laptop and a fast INTERNET connection which will be installed by the local vendor we have been buying from and shipped to you via XXXX next day delivery except the time tracker software which of course we are not specialized on..the cost of the time tracker is {$200.00}, And we will like you to purchase that ASAP As you have been considered by the company board..you will be needing the time tracker software to set up your mini office and start training briefing and orientation with your training supervisor first thing tomorrow morning..the time tracker software is to enable you keep accurate record of the time spent with me and your training supervisor during training. Then they send the paycheck which was on XX/XX/2020 they told me to deposit it in my account and I did after two days they told to buy XXXX cards and I did but didn't stop right there after that they send this message, but we have a little issue here of which we have resolved but now your own quota will be needed. Due to upgrade in software and equipment, the price of the software has gone up and as well equipment, based on the explanation of the vendor, and as well we just added a new equipment to the list but will really cost us a lot so i will say you are very lucky. The new equipment is the time tracker, it will automatically calculate time spent online during work period and as well we will achieve accuracy in terms of payment, this is very much expensive but due to your commitment so far we have decided to have the total fund to you to coverup for the purchase of this equipment and software. So they send another paycheck on XX/XX/2020 they wanted me to deposit in my account that when the bank said that people who send the checks are scammers so then we figured out that they were using me.

Consumer Complaint: My PNC Bank credit card was compromised and my card balance is pretty much maxed out! PNC advertises a zero fraud liability, I am disputing all transactions on my account with the exception of the XXXX Office transaction for {$27.00} on XX/XX/20. All transactions made after the XXXX Office transaction for {$27.00} on XX/XX/20 are fraudulent. I have tried to contact my bank several times, but I can't get through to anyone because the automated voice system requires me to know my full 16 digit credit card number in order to file a claim! My phone and wallet with my photo ID and social security card were also stolen around the time my credit account was compromised, I am only becoming aware of the transactions today because my phone was stolen and I have paperless notifications about my account. This is so unfair! If someone has been calling in to verify these transactions, it is not me! They are fooling PNC to believe that they person with me card is me, and leaving me to pay the balance!
