Consumer Complaint: I sent the following email multiple times to Venmo and they will not respond. Please respond to my dispute request ASAP. I don't know who the person is that used my bank debit card without my permission but they did 5 charges for Venmo. I have never used Venmo and probably never will after this. I did just now set up an account on the app because your website made it sound like I had to, to do a dispute. Your website is very confusing. I tried calling but couldn't get anyone on the phone to help me. The only reason I learned of the fraudulent charges on my bank account is because I received a fraud alert on my phone yesterday morning asking if I just did a charge for Venmo for {$10.00} and I responded NO immediately and then looked at my account and realized 4 more charges have been made on my bank account. No one else has access to my bank account and I, nore anyone else in my family uses VenmO and does not have access to my debit card. I contacted my bank and they will not intervene because you are a XXXXXXXX XXXX. My bank account is not overdrawn because of the XXXX who did these charges on my card. I want it investigated and I want the person responsible for the fraud prosecuted. I want this investigated immediately and I want the money back in my checking account immediately. It is impossible to get anyone on the phone at Venmo to help me, your chat system is not helpful and your website does not make it easy to file a dispute and is very confusing, especially at such a stressful upsetting time like this. Consumer Complaint: This pertains to Paypal 's 'frictionless ' payment platform that automatically makes all platform users available to receive payments by default via their email address. Users do not have a way to turn this feature on or off and are consequently saddled with the fees and obligations that go along with that if a sender disputes a payment. There is currently no way to opt out. Basically as a paypal account holder, my email address is 100 % available for anyone to ( a ) send me a payment ( b ) dispute the payment and ( c ) leave me with any associated fees. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a " final reminder '' email from Paypal about a buyer who had sent {$51.00} to my paypal account using my email address. I have a very simple email address on gmail which people routinely send emails to mistakenly. I did not invite this person to send me money and I am not a seller of anything. Next this person 'disputed ' the payment to reclaim their money and Paypal ended up charging me a {$16.00} fee ( {$1.00} transaction fee + {$15.00} dispute fee ). The fee was waived after a lengthy conversation with customer service over XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX where I was told I was getting a " special exception '' as a long-term customer. Paypal in their self-interest toward 'frictionless ' payment does not allow *any way* for account holders to prevent people from sending you money erroneously and then disputing those payments. I can only block specific senders, I can not turn off this feature.

Consumer Complaint: I received a call today, XX/XX/XXXX, from XXXX ID # XXXX at XXXX XXXX XXXX call came from phone # XXXX at XXXX. XXXX stated I had {$27.00} outstanding balance that Pay Pal paid but couldnt tell me who they paid it to or what it was for, he gave me a date of XX/XX/XXXX that PayPal sent it to them for collection but couldnt tell me what date the {$27.00} was from, he gave me a PayPal reference # XXXX then XXXX transferred me to XXXX, she gave me the same statement but added they sent me a letter in XX/XX/XXXX to an address I havent lived at since XXXX, she told me its my responsibility to prove I didnt get the letter??? Makes no sense. I informed her I was contacting you, she informed me this will be put on my credit report and it will ruin my credit. I do not have a PayPal account and never did. I am also a victim of identity theft that started in XXXX and has to this day keeps going.

Consumer Complaint: From XX/XX/XXXX to XXXX, I was a victim of a money scam. I have filed a police report to the XXXX XXXX XXXX Police Department ( PA XXXX ) On XX/XX/XXXX, and XXXX of this year XXXX, I made a total of four transactions to two email addresses that were operated by the scammer. PayPal returned me the money for one transaction on XX/XX/XXXX, but declared the three others as normal transactions, even though the email addresses of the recipients belong to scammers and my history of transactions on PayPal shows no similar transactions, neither in dollar amount, nor in frequency of transactions. The transactions and the emails associated are as follows : XX/XX/XXXX, {$2700.00} XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, {$2200.00} XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, {$2700.00} XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX, {$2700.00} ( returned ) XXXX XXXX XXXX My bank has cancelled all four transactions. I am asking PayPal to cancel the outstanding debts of the three not yet cancelled transactions.

Please see the attached ( 1 ) signed retainer agreement contract authorizing payment, ( 2 ) detailed billing invoice and account stated, as well as ( 3 ) a legal memorandum of law outlining what we did for this individual and his family members who kept paying his legal fee payments and bills.
