Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, I was hired to be a consultant for XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX and XXXX XXXX, XXXX known as client. The client paid {$10000.00} upfront using the PayPal EFT platform. Halfway through the 10-week consultation, the client ceased use of my services and disputed his payment with PayPal. The client and I agreed to prorate a refund for {$4900.00}. The money was refunded to the client via PayPal. PayPal was advised of the settlement amount and supplied documentation of a mutual agreement between all parties involved. PayPal had supplied 26 documents from both the client and myself that the dispute had been mutually agreed on between myself and the client. Nevertheless, without warning, PayPal placed a hold for {$5000.00} paralyzing my checking account. More than an inconvenience, the hold has obstructed my ability to pay bills, receive incoming payments, and disabled the ability to pay employees. I spoke with two supervisors and countless representatives at PayPal, none of whom had any idea of a timeline for the {$5000.00} to be released back into my account. Moreover, and more recently {$2200.00} was paid to me via PayPal from an unassociated client which PayPal has taken due the account status. PayPals lackadaisical and unproductive information has obstructed monies owed to me totaling {$7200.00}, causing an irreversible and undue hardship. I am unable to pay vendors and employees currently. I am using credit cards to pay bills and will need to borrow money for XXXX rent. As I write to my elected officials, it is my hope, that PayPal the bureau continues to investigate and realize just how much power companies like PayPal have in consumers. My experience clearly shows a corporation acting as judge and jury without the capacity to do so. It is my hope the CFPB recognizes the power of newness in XXXX, and the bad actors exploiting these vulnerabilities.

Consumer Complaint: I have had a PayPal XXXX XXXX I left a negative or a XXXX balance on it because I was no longer going to use the card and there was a couple of accounts that I was paying with that card that I wanted also to cancel it so in order to cancel I just was going to let him go ahead and try to run charge on the card it would decline it and then that would close out the account with XXXX or something with XXXX well this was a XXXX XXXX PayPal and what they decided to do was when I XXXX ran the charge they went ahead and paid it and they wanted me to pay for it two years now they have been hounding me for this money and I kept telling them I didn't ask for them to give me credit this was a cash card I'm just using it for when I have the money to pay the stuff I left a negative about a XXXX balance so that way when these other accounts try to charge the money wouldn't be there the account would been closed and I move on well I don't know because if I try to use that card for groceries or gas, something else, they wouldn't give me {$20.00} credit for that but being it was with XXXX they went ahead and paid it and have been hounding me for the money now they've turned it over to collections to scar my credit over {$28.00} that I could pay but out of sheer principal of them doing that, without me being able to get credit from them for anything else other than XXXX which is which is XXXX so it's it's wrong it's wrong and I'm reporting it

Consumer Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX XXXX, I am a XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX No. XXXX. I issued an invoice for legal services to XXXX XXXX, a client, for {$13000.00}. I do not regularly use Paypal since I work primarily as in-house counsel. The client paid the {$13000.00} on XX/XX/2022. Paypal then refused to release the money. First it requested documentation of various sorts, which I provided XX/XX/2022, the same day. I provided my driver 's license, attorney identification card, a copy of the docket sheet that showed some of the court work I did on the case. Paypal wanted proof that I purchase supplies ( I provided the docket sheet- I'm a lawyer I don't purchase supplies to sell ). Paypal charged {$470.00} for the transfer then said it needed time to investigate and did not release the funds. I then refunded the client in total on XX/XX/2022. Paypal withheld the {$470.00} and stated that the rest of the client 's funds had been returned. I checked with the client that day. He said he had not received the funds. I checked again today, XX/XX/2022 - 5 days after I ordered a complete refund. The client said that his Paypal account stated that the funds had been returned but he had zero dollars credit in his Paypal account and zero credit to his bank account ( from which he had withdrawn the {$13000.00}. ) My Paypal account shows that Paypal refunded {$13000.00}. You can confirm with my client at XXXX. I can also provide the invoice and ledger. Paypal stole {$13000.00} from me and my client. That's a lot of money. I tried to file a complaint online against Paypal with Paypal, but the company website only allows me to file a complaint or open a dispute against a customer or another vendor. Paypal will not be accountable for its actions. I went online and discovered that other people are having horrendous problems with Paypal acting fraudulently. Paypal must return the entire {$13000.00} to my client, XXXX XXXX. Under no circumstances should Paypal be permitted to keep a {$470.00} fee for doing nothing except refusing to give me my money. Paypal is basically an organized fraud outfit and needs to be shut down. We need your help. Please intervene.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 I was attempting to send funds to what I was told was a business account for the purchase of a bicycle. Venmo has added a purchase of goods option for protection which I selected. Immediately upon sending the payment I received a notification that stated the payment could not be sent and subsequently received an email from Venmo that my account had been frozen. There is no specific information in the email or in my follow up conversations with Venmo to identify what specifically causes my account to be frozen. I hold a fairly significant balance in the Venmo accounts as I do use them to buy and sell some bike parts and bicycles. The email asked me to upload a copy of my drivers license which I have and I was told it would be resolved in 4 to 5 business days. It is now XX/XX/XXXX and my account remains frozen. Upon my contacts through the virtual contact system I was advised that additional information was being reviewed and additional 4 to 5 days would be required. No funds were transacted yet Venmo has frozen close to {$30000.00}. Ive done nothing wrong, used the correct protection feature when attempting to pay for these goods, uploaded the required documents, yet my account remains frozen with no explanation. I want my money and I want to forever close my Venmo accounts.

Consumer Complaint: Hi! My Paypal account has been permanently limited without any reason and I am unable to get any help from PayPal support. I understand how important it is to review the accounts timely to keep PayPal a safe environment for both buyers and sellers. As I am well aware of the rules and policies by PayPal, I always work in good faith and follow all the policies and user agreements as stated and agreed upon while I signed up for the account. I have not broken any of the user agreements or done anything wrong that led to my PayPal account being permanently limited. I am a website designer and work for my clients for designing the website and accept payment through PayPal. I have not done anything wrong. Consumer Complaint: Venmo money app I have been using this app for about 2 years at least, without any issues or problems. Recently ( XXXX ) my account was overdrawn and frozen. I found out, all the transactions were from a friends account that had been hacked. So venmo withdrew every single transaction that my friend had sent me overdrawing the account and also charging fees. Unknowingly my friends sent me money via venmo XXXX $ and later XXXX XXXX And all this money as vanished leaving my balance at XXXX!!? I have tried 3 times to dispute by phone but they keep telling that they can only help through email. XXXX So I have been communicating back and forth for weeks without correction of my account. Initially They said paying the overdraft of XXXX would correct my account which XXXX of my money should have fixed but not they have taken all my funds XXXX the initial overdraws XXXX. I tried to explained to them that my account has been hacked and someone used it to illegal activities. I tried to call them and email them this past month explaining my side but my appeal turn into deaf ear.. Now that I got back my Paypal account to the hacker. Changing password and changing the phone number so that It will not hack again. XXXX refunded, XXXX asked that I send as friends and family to XXXX via paypal XX/XX/XXXX : {$180.00} via paypal to XXXX XXXX to put tub wall back together and frame window. XX/XX/XXXX : {$50.00} for materials & picking up cabinet to put upstairs XX/XX/XXXX : {$50.00} moving cabinet XX/XX/XXXX : {$97.00} delivery of cabinet and p-trap accessories so he could finally finish the dishwasher. Total : {$690.00} The only thing that was completed was the faucet/showerhead install, everything else was left incomplete and unusable, whereas before at least everything was usable. I am prosecuting the person committing fraud, XXXX police report # XXXX
