Issue: Problem with a purchase or transfer
Subissue: Card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase or transfer
Consumer Complaint: Today XX/XX/XXXX at XXXXXXXX XXXX I was picking up my room and found a debit card issued by XXXX XXXX XXXX, which is linked to my PayPal business account, under my bed. In the past few weeks I have had fraudulent activity on my personal bank account so I called PayPal customer service " ( XXXX ) XXXX '' to see if I could gain access to my account so I could log in and check the transaction records but was told that they could not do that because of some restriction I did however convince the first representative I spoke with to verbally give me some transactions on my account and I noticed ; as she was telling me the transactions on my account, that there were for sure TWO ATM withdrawals and 2 deposits that I did not make OR AUTHORIZE myself. One transaction was for {$160.00} on XX/XX/XXXX the other was for {$200.00} which occurred on XX/XX/XXXX I understand and realize that these transactions happened more than 5 years ago, but I lost access to the email and phone number associated with my PayPal business account around XX/XX/XXXX, so I wasn't able to monitor the transactions that were taking place on my account. Otherwise I would have brought this to their attention much sooner so that this could get resolved. While speaking with them I was repeatedly transferred for no apparent reason other than to get me off the phone, I was hung up on twice, and ultimately I wasn't able to update my phone number or email address on file with my account so that I can access my online transaction records without having to call customer service for help, which they were none of! Seeing how PayPal business accounts and debit cards are covered by the FDIC I assumed that I would get a refund or at least an account credit to resolve the issue since it was a transaction not authorized or done by me. The ONLY person legally allowed to authorize transactions on this account. My name is XXXX XXXX and I can be reached at ( XXXX ) XXXX or XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I watch many XXXX bloggers and have participated numerous times in contests and have won. However, on XX/XX/12, while watching a XXXX XXXX, XXXX, received a message from someone posing as her, telling me that I was the winner of an IPad for comment and supporting her blog. She then asked me to respond to her on XXXX. The message had her picture. I did this. Then they asked me to show where the message said I won, which I did, then asked if I would pay shipping, which I agreed. They said they accept PayPal, Venmo etc, so I agreed to PayPal. PayPal refuses to investigate or open a fraud case.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX a business client sent {$300.00} to my business venmo account. The money was marked " on hold '' by venmo, asking that I submit tax information. Having already done so previously, when I clicked the tab indicated this time, it went nowhere and did not allow me to verify tax info ( because I'd already done so ). On XX/XX/XXXX I initiated email contact with customer support with no resolution. On XX/XX/XXXX I called customer support and they could see I had verified my info and they could not say why my money was not being released. I was told I would get an email from their account support team within several days. I never received an email. On XXXX I called back, at which time I was asked to submit documentation of screen shots outlining what I see when I try to verify tax info. I submitted all requested screen shots on XXXX. After continued attempts to get information from venmo on XXXX, XXXX, and XX/XX/XXXX, with no resolution, I am now taking further steps. They are saying they don't know what the issue is, and they have no ideas when it could be resolved. I can not get answers, and most importantly can not get my {$300.00}.

Consumer Complaint: I received a collection notice from PayPal in XXXX of XXXX stating that I owed {$30.00} on an account. When I further researched this issue it was noted that this was a fraudulent account created using my maiden name and current address. The collection agency was able to verbally verify that they sent a flag alert to PayPal regarding this account and I reached out to XXXX Identity Theft Protection to submit a claim. Since XXXX my XXXX agent and I have called PayPal numerous times and each time we get a different PayPal agent who gives us the run around. We were told on several conversations that we would be getting an email confirmation that the fraudulent account was closed and then each time we call back we are told they can not provide us with the information. I am looking to get written confirmation that the account in question was closed and that I will be released from any financial responsibilities from this identity theft.

Consumer Complaint: I was scammed by a Fraudulent company named XXXX It all happened around XX/XX/2022 They approached me online and manipulated me into investing and trading. I had no previous experience with cryptocurrencies and they took advantage of that. Unfortunately I invested around {$8300.00} in total, which I had to upgrade and add more funds to receive my profit. My profit started around XXXX through the website. Then significantly went up to {$22000.00} in profit. I was then told I had to pay a maintenance fee of {$5000.00} to get my profit. After I paid what was stated, thinking I would get my funds. I was then told my money was transferred to the bank I indicated above that would hold my funds, and I would be able to withdraw a total of {$36000.00} immediately. When I tried to withdraw the money, I couldnt due to a tax loan code. Then through an email thread, I was then told I needed to pay {$7500.00} to get my money out due a tax loan fee. I mentioned I wasnt aware of this. Then they agreed I pay {$5000.00} through a XXXX ATM to receive the code. This has caused a lot of stress by all this money being asked of. After waiting longer due to a lack of funds to pay, I finally came up with the total amount. I paid what was asked for the amount of {$5000.00}. Then they didnt give me the funds! They said there was an increase in the tax fee, but these increases will cover all fees, so I need to pay the initial amount of {$7500.00}, of which I already paid {$5000.00}, then they regret to mention I pay the remaining balance of {$2500.00}. After all of the investing and not being able to withdraw my funds i had realized it was a scam.
