Consumer Complaint: Venmo, a subsidiary of PayPal, has a " Transfer Balance '' screen that tricks users into performing an " Instant '' transfer that charges predatory fees. The screen always auto defaults to " Instant Transfer '' which will initiate a predatory fee. In my case, I transfered {$520.00} to my bank account from Venmo and was charged a {$9.00} fee. This transaction occured on XX/XX/2022 with Transaction ID XXXX. The difference between the free " 1-3 XXXX Days '' transfer and " Instant '' transfer is very subtle, even more so for me because I am XXXX XXXX. One wrong finger swipe within a few milimeteres is the only difference between a free transaction to a very costly one. I explained my issue to Venmo support and they were unhelpful and unwilling to refund the fee. I am asking that Venmo transfers not auto default to " Instant '' transfer and the differences are more accesible to XXXX XXXX individuals.

Consumer Complaint: My issue is with Paypal. Debit cards I use with small business transactions are automatically added to my profile on paypal without my authorization. Then scammers hack into my profile and use my debit and credit cards for purchases I did not approve. This happened a few years ago with a XXXX XXXX XXXX account of mine I had to close due to the extreme amount of fraud coming from Paypal. I disputed it with paypal several times and they ultimately said the transactions were valid and my money was stolen. i reach out to Paypal to cancel my account and make sure all of my personal and financial information was no longer activated. As of today, XX/XX/22 I received email notification of 3 separate charges to separate people on paypal, none of which I approved or authorize. I was traveling and did not use my card at all during this time. Paypal does not allow you to speak with an agent, they only allow you an automated call or chat and my issues are occurring again. They will not let me remove payment methods or close my account. They should be shut down for the amount of fraud.

Consumer Complaint: I opened a Venmo account because my friend used Venmo more than PayPal. As we spoke he wanted to send me money to help with purchasing plane tickets for my children to come visit them. I set up the account on venmo, verified my banking information and he sent the funds. I received notification that I received the funds and the email stated I could then transfer the funds to my bank. When I tried to do this I got an error message and went back to the home page and was surprised to see it say my account was suspended. I then tried to contact venmo via phone. When I finally got thru to a agent I was told this could days if not weeks to receive notification of why the account was suspended let alone until the account was unfrozen. I then went to chat and eventually was told the same thing. I have still not received any notification of why it was suspended or a projected timeline of when my funds would be released. Regardless to say Im very irritated as the tickets will cost more now as we approach the date of departure. Plus as with all the stories I heard between my friend and I could be out over XXXX XXXX dollars. Thanks Venmo. I guess Ill stick to other services.

Consumer Complaint: I initiated an instant transfer from Venmo on Wednesday, XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX. It was supposed to take 30 minutes, at most. It's now been a week, I've contacted Venmo numerous times. They give me a couple codes to provide to my bank but I've talked to multiple people at the bank 3 times now, and they said they don't know why Venmo would ask me to do that, because they can't legally troubleshoot with a third party, which is what Venmo is. Now the customer support at Venmo is saying they're " sorry they couldn't help me further, '' effectively stealing what little money I have to feed my children, and telling me there's nothing further they can do. This is the second time they've stolen hundreds from me in the last several months.

Consumer Complaint: Someone hacked into my XXXX account on XX/XX/XXXX and made an unauthorized transaction. My PayPal account was still connected from my last purchase over a year ago. I immediately contacted PayPal on XX/XX/XXXX and opened a case and within an hour, they closed it saying that the purchase was authorized. I called back and another agent said that he would open an item not received case and to wait 10 business days for an outcome. On XX/XX/XXXX, I logged into my PayPal account and didnt see any active cases, so I called and was informed that that agent on XX/XX/XXXX did not open the case and they opened the case on my call on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I was informed via email by PayPal that my case was denied! I already contacted my bank after PayPal denied my first case and they assured me that they would step in if PayPal fails to resolve the issue. I contacted my bank and they are now going to resolve this issue. This is so upsetting and has caused me so much unnecessary emotional distress over a fraud transaction. Ive been a PayPal meme XXXX since XXXX and I dont believe they have good intentions for their members and their money.
