Consumer Complaint: I have a 20 year mortgage with PHH Mortgage. I am having trouble in resolving an incorrect tax payment issue made by them for XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX. Here is the summary of the problem : 1. They incorrectly paid property taxes for XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX to a different county ( I am from XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and they paid to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) 2. As a result, my taxes were delinquent for 2 qtrs and I was notified by my county. 3. When I contacted them in XX/XX/XXXX with the issue, they took 3 months and finally made the payment on XXXX XXXX for the delinquent taxes. 4. They were trying to collect the incorrect payment but were following up with the wrong county. 5. After failing to recover the amount, they are now trying to recover the amount from me as additional escrow payments citing negative escrow balance. The negative balance was created by their mistake of making payments to the wrong county 6. As a result, my mortgage amount will go up by {$180.00} per month from XX/XX/XXXX 7. I am trying to resolve and reverse the increase as their failure to collect and recover the money is not my problem and I should not be victimized for the same 8. I am been calling them up every week for last 6 weeks and getting no resolution at sight. Need help

Consumer Complaint: I have a 15 year fixed mortgage loan in the amount of XXXX with a 9.850 % interest through PHH ( started with GMAC, sold to Ocwen, merged with PHH ). The original note states so will pay principal and interest in the amount of XXXX each month. In XXXX of XXXX I received a letter that my loan had matured as of XX/XX/XXXX and I now owed the remaining balance of over {$20000.00}. I called after receiving the letter and was told there was an extension on my account and I could continue with the regular monthly payment. In XXXX of XXXX my payments started being held in a suspense Account and no long were being applied to my loan. I have spoken to 6 PHH agents to try and figure out what is going on and have gotten nowhere. I was told at one point I had a HELOC loan which so do not. I can not figure out how I still owe over {$20000.00} on an original note of {$26000.00}.

This reporting is erroneous and I've challenged the accuracy, compliance and reportability of this listing. I've asked PHH Mortgage Servicing Company to delete this account from my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX PHH mortgage in formed that I was already 3 payments behind {$4100.00} and that foreclosure measures would start on XX/XX/XXXX if the account wasn't brought to good standing. As I informed them due to being XXXX XXXX XXXX being hit by financial hardship by covid and the up raise in my mortgage payment it has become affordable to continue paying on the mortgage. No assistance to date has been offered and a foreclosure in in process. This is the only home I have known since my husband and I purchased the home in XXXX. There is a {$70000.00} loan taken back in XXXX and the principal remains at {$70000.00}. They continue to increase my monthly payment. I see back in XXXX the action suit brought against them for insurance kick backs and I never received any sort of refund for that. Consumer Complaint: Monday, XX/XX/2022 : I received a notice of insurance cancelation from my property insurance company, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. This cancelation notice and the accompanying Billing Notice are enclosed. Because I did not check my mail until XXXX, I was not able to call my local agent. Tuesday, XX/XX/2022 : I called my XXXX XXXX agent, XXXX XXXX, and confirmed that my policy had been canceled due to nonpayment by the mortgagee effective XX/XX/2022. XXXX EST : I called PHH Mortgage and informed them of cancelation. My agents name and policy number was taken and the agent said that she would resolve the issue and call me back. I called my agent again and advised him that PHH was going to reach out and that if my account status had not changed by XXXX, to please call me so that I could escalate. XXXX EST : After XXXX XXXX called and let me know that my insurance still had not had a payment applied, I called back ad escalated it again. At this time, I was told that PHH would overnight a payment to reinstate my insurance. I asked for clarification of that and was told that a check would be cut on the NEXT business day and then would be sent to XXXX XXXX via XXXX overnight. I asked to speak to a supervisor to understand what had happened to allow my insurance to lapse and was told I would be called back by one. As of the date of this letter, I have received no further communication from PHH Mortgage. Because I was without homeowners insurance from XX/XX/XXXX through that date and was told that I would remain without insurance until XX/XX/XXXX, I made the decision to call XXXX XXXX directly to make a payment of one months premium to reinstate my coverage. I have a pool and live in XXXX XXXX where we have entered hurricane season- we have had a tropical storm during the window of time that I was without insurance. PHH Mortgage is contractually obligated to pay my property insurance and to keep it in good standing, per the mortgage agreement and the monthly charges for escrowed funds to do so. Had an accident occurred at my property during the three weeks I was without coverage, the property or our financial wellbeing could have been put in jeopardy. Both XXXX XXXX and PHH Mortgage had the correct information for my mortgage company and for my property insurance on file at the time this event occurred. I would like to file this complaint against PHH Mortgage so that their processes and systems be evaluated and events like this are avoided in the future.

Consumer Complaint: I am attempting to have PMI removed from my mortgage. I submitted their form and feel I meet all their criteria tor PMI removal they have listed. I sent in the {$150.00} check for the appraisal fee. PHH cashed my check on XX/XX/XXXX and I have yet to have been contacted by an appraiser. I have contacted PHH by phone and have escalated the matter. First call was in XXXX or early XXXX, I waited a bit before the next call. It was in middle to late XXXX. First escalation call was XX/XX/XXXX and I was told to wait 7 days. Today I called ( XX/XX/XXXX ) and was told of no notable progress and that I should wait another seven days. Each time I am informed that they are passing this along to someone else. Each month I am stuck paying this and they dont seem willing to schedule an appraiser to come out. I have escalated as far as I can through their system and they still just told me to sit and wait another 7 days for a call. Unfair business practice to cash my check and not send an appraiser out.

Consumer Complaint: My father passed away on XX/XX/XXXX, and my brother passed away a month later. We weren't aware that my father was in trouble with the mortgage company until we received a notice of the property going up for sale. My father was a very ill man and wasn't able to communicate very well due to his illness. We contacted the attorney for the bank on XX/XX/XXXX and were advised that they were unable to stop the sale on XX/XX/XXXX of the property as my father was served prior to his death. We also contact the bank and they refused to speak with us as we are not authorized on the account. I tried explaining that my father had passed and would like the opportunity to come to some resolution and they refused to speak with me or my other brother. As I had stated my father was very ill and he did not let anyone know that he was having trouble with the mortgage or that he was aware of the situation occurring. We are asking for more time in the property so we can resolve this issue by either a repayment plan or a short sale. I and my other brother are currently living on the property and I do not want the last thing my father had to be lost to foreclosure.
