Subissue: Keep getting calls about your loan
Consumer Complaint: Navient who owns my student loans keeps calling, emailing and texting me about repayment of my loans. They stated on XX/XX/XXXX, " the forbearance provided by the U.S. Department of Education ( ED ) only applies to ED owned student loans Your loans aren't owned by ED ''. It was my understanding the Biden Adminstration student load repayment pause moratorium which is set to expire on XX/XX/XXXX applied to all student loans. Navient has been calling, emailing and texting me nonstop for the last two months and I am tired of it. When I was making payment my student loan amount never seemed to lower because of all the interest they have tacked on. I know I owe my student loans but I do not feel it is right for them to harass me for payment.

Consumer Complaint: When I called to postpone my XX/XX/XXXX payment to be withdrawn in early XXXX, I was told by an agent that my monthly payment had gone down from {$1200.00} to {$520.00}. I asked the agent multiple times to make sure this was correct, I let him know that I had multiple loans and maybe he was reading something wrong. He assured me that {$520.00} was my new payment going forward. I went onto the website to see the amount due for XX/XX/XXXX and confirmed that it was {$520.00}. The agent and I made a new automatic payment arrangement for the new monthly amount due. When I called in XXXX to postpone my XX/XX/XXXX payment to early XX/XX/XXXX, I was told my account was past due {$920.00}. I was told that the agent I spoke to in XXXX was new and gave me incorrect information. I was told that not only had my payment not gone down, it had gone up from {$1200.00} to {$1500.00}. I let the supervisor know that I could not afford that and could not even afford the previous payment of {$1200.00}, which was a lowered payment agreement I had made about two to three years prior, after being told multiple times that I did not qualify for a lower payment based on my income. The supervisor checked my account in this instance in XXXX and once again told me that I do not qualify for a lower payment based on my income. The best she could do was to lower my payment by $ XXXX if I payed interest only every month. I was told that my monthly payment had gone up due to an interest rate increase, which I do not believe since I recall my interest rates being considerably higher when my payment of {$1200.00} was set in place. I am struggling financially with this supposed error made in XXXX since it has resulted in a now {$2400.00} past due amount in addition to {$48.00} in unpaid fees. Since I was unprepared to make my XXXX payment of {$1500.00} XXXX asked to make the {$520.00} payment as planned for XXXX in early XXXX, and I would begin making the new {$1500.00} at the end of XXXX. This new payment along with slowly bringing the past due current is going to further make it difficult to meet all of my monthly obligations, pay for my health care, and put food on the table as it takes roughly 50 % of my income. These difficulties have been present and insurmountable for years because if Navient and are now made even worse.

Consumer Complaint: 1. Received email notification that my payment was increasing. They have observed an " error '' in my loan payment, but I've been making the same payment for 15-18 years. I have tried to obtain more information about how they calculated the new payment and where in our loan agreement where it says they are allowed to change my monthly payment. After 3 different calls to customer service and waiting 5-10 business days for correspondence each time, I've yet to receive the information I'm requesting. 2. They are extremely careless with private and personal information. This includes sending me paper work in the mail with my full social security number unredacted. I have also received paper work about another of their customers including address, social, phone numbers, email address, parent name and addresse.

Consumer Complaint: I havent paid a Navient loan since XXXX, i was in graduate school deferment until XXXX. I could not pay in XXXX since I was still in graduate school ( they did not offer any options despite covid and me being unemployed in XXXX due to graduate school demands and pandemic job loss. They refused to talk to me, no one at Navient would speak to me. My cosigner claimed a XXXX XXXX XXXX, and then Navient said my loan was written off ( via credit report ). But they refused to speak to me. I got a lawyer and filed a XXXX XXXX this past summer ( XX/XX/XXXX ). Navient showed up as written off then, due to XXXX XXXX. But they still refused to speak with me, and would not tell me anything. My credit score just dropped XXXX points because Navient showed up again and changed the remark from XXXX XXXX, to written off as bad debt. I want to dispute this. Its not fair, they wouldnt give me my status of loan at all over the years, probably avoiding the statue of limitations ( 4 years for private student loans. ) and they already reported written off once, and now I take another hit as Im repairing my credit score. At one point they transferred me to the Bankrupcy departmentrepeatedly, but people Would answer the phone and say they were from a training company and had no affiliation with Navient ( really bizarre ). I want them to leave me alone, take this bogus knock off my credit report and give me a letter with information about the loan, the statute of limitations, etc.

Consumer Complaint: I am appalled at their continued unethical, immoral attempts to collect alleged amounts of a debt that we have discussed for 15 years and I dont believe I owe and cant pay. I have applied for forgiveness so we are waiting. They know all of this. It has been a while then today on XXXX XXXX I received a threatening letter. Any debt I owe is due to them misguiding me and they admitted years ago I should have filled out different paperwork. They were only to send emails no phone calls and no letters.this is documented and they always have my correct email. So they broke the agreement and I believe that means I do not have to make any further efforts. I filed a report with XXXX as well.

Consumer Complaint: Legally my loans are past the statue of limitations. I haven't been able to repay most of them for over 8 years and in the state of Oregon this puts these loans past the point of being able to collect on. I have 4 loans through navient that are private/ consolidated. They have been sent to collections and I still recieve calls and emails which is in my understanding illegal.

Consumer Complaint: I have a parent loan through Navient. I have noticed that there are several lawsuits against them for misleading customers on repayments. I looked at my account that I have been paying on for about 11 years, and the amount I still owe is more than what I originally took the loan out for. how can I get this resolved?
