Consumer Complaint: The name of the school is XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) and not XXXX XXXX but that was the closest name on the list. I wrote to CFPB and they stated to write to FAFSA regarding the matter of School Borrower Defense. However, I reached out to FAFSA Ombudsman regarding a pending matter to get the debt dropped due to embezzlement and non job placement. Which is why the school closed. However, FAFSA reached out and told me that Navient would contact me regarding this matter. Navient has reached out with a message through my account promoting ways to pay back the loan. But they still choose not to address the issue regarding School Borrower Defense that I filled out with FAFSA. Regarding dropping the debt due to embezzlement and non job placement in which this is the reason why the school closed in the first place. I do not understand why FAFSA chooses not to address this issue either because I filled out the School Borrower Defense forms with them. Instead they're putting the ball back into Navient court while knowing the truth as to why the school closed down. Both parties are ignoring the situation and I need for CFPB to step up and help me get this loan dropped due to fraud. I would like for Navient to acknowledge and answer me regarding the well publicized issue in the media, with both XXXX XXXX located in XXXX XXXX and XXXX, CA. And drop the loan according to the charges of embezzlement, fraud and non job placement.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023, I submitted a payment to Navient to be processed on XX/XX/2023. On XX/XX/2023, I received a receipt from Navient that stated the following : " XXXX, I'd be more than happy to assist you regarding payments received for your student loan account. Payments in the amounts of {$210.00} and {$360.00} were received XX/XX/2023 and both were applied to loan XXXX. Best Regards, XXXX, Loan Servicing Specialist Your loan servicer Your loans are serviced by Navient Solutions , LLC ( NMLS # XXXX ). ref : XXXX : ref '' I spoke with Navient today and they claim that these payments were actually not applied. When they asked me to verify my identity, I gave them my current address which they claim to not have as my current address. They claim their records show an address where I lived XXXX years ago despite me having received mail from them at my current address as recently as XX/XX/2023.

Consumer Complaint: Private loan interest rate raised to 15 % on one and 13 % on the other I have good credit and consistent with payments. I tried to refinance the loan because I can not afford {$400.00} a month they denied me because the school I went to was full prophet. Then I was denied again because I did not graduate. Then I tried again another place they said even with a good credit score you'd be paying {$900.00}. I have no other options and feel completely helpless at this point that I'm paying on a high interest loan with mo degree and it's stopping me from being able to afford anything at this point.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Consumer Complaint: First I was decieved by the school I attended. When applying for the loans I was told that I could consolidate them, and take co signer off. I was told that the interest wouldn't vary much. I have been paying the loans to close to 20 years and the principal seems to never go down. As I continue to pay the priciple balance the company continues to raise the interest rates. They were no more than 4 % when I started and now they are up to 10 %. I have 10 years left on them and have paid {$85000.00} on a {$64000.00} and was given an estimate of {$120000.00} when finished. I've never missed a payment and never have been late. When I went to prison the cosigner asked for alternative to pay and they told her the only thing she could do was defer them. This company " Navient '' has been taken to court over the deceptive and predatory loan practices. They even settled a case back in XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX which I don't qualify due to the fact that I haven't defaulted even though my school is on the list that does qualify me. I've tried talking to them about alternatives and removing the co signer but all I get is that it's not possible because they are private loans. Currently there is still a case against them by CGPB and I hope my complaint can help your cause.

Consumer Complaint: On Saturday, XX/XX/XXXX, I mailed via certified mail ( # XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) a VALIDATION OF DEBT notice to Navient Solutions LLC, which they received on XX/XX/XXXX, in dispute of an alleged debt Navient claimed I owe. In said notice, I offered Navient 15 days to provide me with evidence of my indebtedness ( the original lawful contract, name and address of the original creditor, name and address of the holder in due course, documentation of XXXX accounting showing off and on ledger accounting, etc. ). Having not received the requested documentation of indebtedness from Navient within said 15 days, on XX/XX/XXXX I mailed via certified mail ( # XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) a NOTICE OF FAULT AND OPPORTUNITY TO CURE letter, which they received on XX/XX/XXXX. In said letter I reasserted my consumer right to request evidence of my alleged indebtedness. I offered Navient 10 days to provide me with the requested evidence of alleged indebtedness, to which again they did not respond. Remaining in honor while protecting my consumer rights, on XX/XX/XXXX I mailed to Navient via certified mail ( # XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) a CEASE AND DESIST NOTICE and an AFFIDAVIT OF TRUTH, which was received by Navient on XX/XX/XXXX. Again I offered Navient 10 days to honorably address my dispute and provide evidence for their claim. On XX/XX/XXXX, Navient reported delinquent payments to my credit report to all three credit bureaus, XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX, on an alleged debt that was in dispute, dropping my credit score over 100 points. They also reported the same information to my parent 's credit file, the co-signers to the alleged debt. This is a gross violation of my consumer rights, discrimination, and harassment, all of which are a clear violation of the FDCPA. In response to Navient 's actions, I continued my private administrative process by mailing them via certified mail ( # XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) a NOTICE OF DEFAULT AND CONSENT TO JUDGMENT and a notarized CONDITIONAL ACCEPTANCE FOR VALUE FOR PROOF OF CLAIM letter. In said letters I acknowledged again that Navient had yet to provide me with proper evidence of my indebtedness. Remaining in honor once again, even though they had unlawfully reported inaccurate private information ( identity theft ) to the credit reporting agencies during an open dispute, I again offered Navient one final chance to provide me with bonified proof of their claim. I even offered to accept their claim should they provide the proper evidence for it. Each of the letters mentioned in this complaint I also mailed via certified mail to XXXX XXXX, Navient 's CEO, XXXX XXXX, Navient 's XXXX, and XXXX XXXX, Navient 's XXXX, none of whom have lawfully responded to my dispute. This whole process has been a gross violation of my lawful consumer rights, and during this private administrative process, I and my parents, the co-signers, have been unjustly discriminated again and harassed. Navient has continued to try to collect on an alleged debt that they have provided no evidence for. I demand that appropriate legal action be taken for this issue to be remedied. No person should have to suffer what I, and now my parents, have suffered to simply be provided lawful evidence of indebtedness.

Consumer Complaint: Navient has been reporting my payments as being late since XX/XX/XXXX. However when i spoke to their representatives I advised them that due to the Care Act there should have been no payments on my account until after the legal decisions have been made through congress. The representative told me to dispute the late payments because of the care act. They then approved my forbearance and made my account current. However due to the misinformation my account still shows that I have been late however as you see I've never been late on any of my student loans ever. Per Student Aid. gov, Student Loan Payment Pause Extended The student loan payment pause is extended until the U.S. Department of Education is permitted to implement the debt relief program or the litigation is resolved. Payments will restart 60 days later. If the debt relief program has not been implemented and the litigation has not been resolved by XX/XX/XXXX payments will resume 60 days after that. We will notify borrowers before payments restart.
