Consumer Complaint: I took out these loans with Navient in XXXX and XXXX. One was for XXXX and the other was for XXXX. I currently owe over XXXX on both of those loans combined. I had been making payments consistently since XXXX at least on an income based rate reduction program. Before that the account was being put into forbearance and I was paying {$100.00} per month. I was not given the option before XXXX to do a rate reduction program. I was instead steered into a forbearance and now the interest that has been applied to my loans has made it impossible to even think about paying these off. I am confused about how loans totaling XXXX have turned into over XXXX and I have been making consistent payments since 2015. I realized that I was affected the same way the students that started that class action case were. I have not made a payment on the account since XXXX and the account has now been charged off. They are calling saying they can garnish my wages if I dont pay. I have received wrong information from their representatives this entire time I have been dealing with Navient. Now a loan that was supposed to be paid off in 20-25 years will take 50 years to pay off because of their bad practices and false information provide to me. The loan has now defaulted and they want me to pay the full {$77000.00} which I do not have at this time. Even though I have requested a cease and desist they have still been contacting me and my grandma about this account.

Consumer Complaint: I have been trying to get information about my interest rate and how high my variable rate can rise. Because last year it when from XXXX % to now it is at XXXX %. I can not get an answer about if there is a cap or not, and the servicer will not send me any paperwork information about my loan interest rate. If the fed keeps increasing the rate, I could keep paying whatever the servicer decides. I do not think this is correct, I am sure there is a cap, but the servicer will not provide me with any information. Also, I ask if there are any options to refinance or change payments, I get told I do not qualify or that there are no programs available. Yet the servicer sends me emails and states information on their website advertising such options, but I have no options when I call. Instead, I am told to pay my bill and call next month. I am not the only individual struggling with the navient, and I think something needs to be done. This company has a history of treating customers like this. I have contacted my attorney general about this matter as well.

Consumer Complaint: To whom it may concern, My name is XXXX XXXX. I am writing this email to forward a grievance towards Navient. This company has made it aware to me that they took over my government loans from XXXX XXXX some years ago. As of this time there is a XXXX XXXX with Navient due to Navient not helping student borrowers legally, and thus forcing them in further debt. I have spent many years fighting with this company. I have done my best to make monthly payments as required. However, there is a Private Loan I had to take out in XXXX to fully help pay for college. Navient now has control over it and has refused to offer any financial help with this loan. I have been unemployed for over XXXX months now and was forced to move due to poverty. I am unable to hold a job at this time due to a temporary XXXX. My XXXX XXXX was XXXX XXXX and I have a XXXX coming up this weekend that will further prevent me from working for another several months. As of this time I am broke, jobless and homeless. I am staying with someone at this time for help. I am in complete pverty and XXXX. I have contacted Navient for help but they refuse to offer any help for this private loan. Instead, they increased the loan to XXXX % interest rate... This is cruel and absurd. I have had this loan since XXXX and have been paying for it for over XXXX years. Navient has been taking advantage of me over XXXX years and I can not find help. I have contacted Navient on multiple occasions and they refuse to help .... Navient also has several Federal Loans of mine that they refuse to put on " Government Payment Pause'.. I thought this was illegal.. I have recently learned of a class action lawsuit towards Navient about their Unlawful practices.. Consumer Complaint: My loan was moved to Navient years ago. They always encouraged my to defer payments. I tried over the years to get affordable options and they would always say we can just defer it. Now my loan has more than tripled and my payment plan is too high and even if I could afford the payments I would end up paying five times more than what I borrowed by the time I paid it off.
