Consumer Complaint: I co-signed a loan for my son on or about XXXX, XXXX. I believe the amount was for {$16000.00}. Navient last contacted me in writing on XX/XX/XXXX. It was dealing with XXXX, not payment of the loan. The last phone call from Navient to me was on XX/XX/XXXX and indicated no co-payment was due at that time. Recently, without contacting me first to discuss the loan, Navient reported to the credit agencies that I was in default on the loan, which was not true.My credit went from good to fair. We intend to move to a new apartment, but the reduction of my credit rating has stalled our move. NAVIENT MUST IMMEDIATELY REMOVE THE FALSE CREDIT ALLEGATIONS FROM THE CREDIT BUREAUS ' REPORTS. THEY HAVE LIBELED MY CREDIT AND CAUSED ME DAMAGE. Further, this loan is now terminated by the California Statute of Limitations, which is four years. Navient has filed no lawsuit on the loan for more than four years after the last payment on the loan was made, and the loan is no longer enforceable. NAVIENT NEEDS TO IMMEDIATELY TERMINATE THE LOAN. Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022, the trustee on my bankruptcy case was sent {$68000.00} in order to pay my way out of bankruptcy BY LAW, which included my student loans. There was no other way to get out of my bankruptcy ( other than paying the monthly fee for the allotted amount of time I was ordered to be in the bankruptcy ). I have received no phone calls, no emails, and no letter correspondence saying I still owe money ( because it was supposed to be paid off ), and I had NO idea I was back in repayment. Navient has now reported a missed payment on my credit report, and theyre saying I owe {$3100.00}. Again, this is not possible because I PAID OFF MY BANKRUPTCY.

Consumer Complaint: NAVIENT NOT UPHOLDING SETTLEMENT - reporting the account on borrower and co-signer credit reports and did not pay back payments made post XX/XX/XXXX in defiance of the XXXX XXXX XXXX Pennsylvania, Consent Judgement and Order dated XX/XX/XXXX. My XXXX XXXX loan ( $ XXXX ) was co-signed in XXXX by my sister, XXXX XXXX XXXX ) XXXX. Sometime last year, the loan ( > $ XXXX ) disappeared from my Navient account and my credit report. I never received any notification or refund of payments made after XX/XX/XXXX. As of XX/XX/XXXX, the loan is appearing on my XXXX credit report as not past due and closed. In the past few months, my sister/co-signer has been receiving collection calls on the loan and is being told she is responsible, I filed bankruptcy, and Navient has not been sued- All lies stated on a collection call. I called on XX/XX/XXXX and requested a copy of the letter they were supposed to send to me indicating the account was paid. I was told the letter would be to me no later than the XXXX or XXXX. As of today, I have not received the letter.

Consumer Complaint: Below is a letter that was sent on XX/XX/2022. I received a call this month stating that the lender sets the rates. I would like assistance with contacting the lender if possible : My name is XXXX XXXX, I currently work in the capacity of a XXXX XXXXXXXX ; due to the economy, my job has tightened funding and I need to redo my personal budget, as we are trying to keep afloat. I have been paying my student loans for over a decade on time and my balances are increasing rather than decreasing. Due various issues within my job and household, I am requesting an interest rate reduction and as I am experiencing financial difficulty. I am currently paying more than 15 % APR for my student loan interest on account number XXXX and 12 % for account number XXXX and it is truly taking a toll on me financially. I am requesting a reduced payment on my debt. I am requesting that I receive a reduction of 8 % as I can afford to quickly repay you. Also, I would like to request an interest abatement of six months. Please contact me, so we can come to a manageable solution as this is imperative that we do something rather sooner than later.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX I went into default on Student loans due to unemployment. I went into collections. The letter stated I owed over XXXX XXXX in principle, interest and other fees. My original loan with interest was paid down below XXXX XXXX in XXXX with payments on and off until XXXX. At that time I requested payment history, and validation of debt by collector. Non was received. My loan went back and forth this way between Navient and collections. In XXXX, a collection agency finally answered my request with incomplete records. Only providing the application for consolidation of loans and a short 2 year history of payment from XXXX through XXXX. My student loans have been offset by my federal and XXXX refunds since XXXX and there was no record of those payments. When this was reported to that agency, I have heard nothing since.

Consumer Complaint: I have a consolidated XXXX loan that is serviced by Navient. My loan originated in XXXX with an interest rate of 4.375 %. I have faithfully made all payments for the past XXXX years. In or about XXXX, XXXX I enrolled in XXXX with Navient, which entitled me to a .25 % interest rate deduction on my loan and monthly payment amount. My minimum monthly payment ( without the interest rate deduction ) was calculated at {$440.00}, which is the required minimum amount I have been paying since XX/XX/XXXX ( based on XXXX records- for which I doubt the veracity thereof. Navients processes and communications are repleat with errors ). Navient has acknowledged, in writing, repeatedly, that Navient ( either intentional, recklessly or negligently ) used the wrong interest rate my monthly payment amount for 15 years. Even according to XXXX own correspondence, they have acknowledged that, for the period XX/XX/XXXX to present they were using the wrong interest rate ( Navient used XXXX instead of my actual interest rate of XXXX XXXX Thus Navient wrongfully collected and retained thousands of dollars ( over the course of XXXX years ) to which they were not entitled. That was my money, it should have stayed in my pocket and earned interest. Navients responses to my complaints have been along the lines of even if though we calculated your monthly payment amount using the wrong interest rate, you ultimately owed more money than we collected ( ie my total outstanding loan balance/interest exceeded the overage amount Navient wrongfully collected and retained ) so we did nothing wrong ; we will not return these overcharged payments to you and we did nothing wrong by collecting more than we were entitled to. I want my overpayments returned to me, plus Massachusetts statutory interest applied to those amounts for the 15 years during which Navient overcharged me, wrongfully retained said overpayments, and their false, deceptive, misleading and fraudulent communications surrounding this matter which were designed to obfuscate Navient wrong doing and, by proving false and fraudulent information, dissuade me from pursuing rightful compensation in this matter. I demand Navient reimburse me well over {$5000.00} in actual and punitive damages as allowed by applicable federal and state law.

Consumer Complaint: During a call with a Navient representative while trying to lower my monthly payments she said I would be excellent candidate for Navient 's private loan consolidation. I was very glad to hear this as I have been trying for many years to have my monthly payments lowered, and can tell Navient does not wish to truly help me because they have XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX on my student loans. Despite years of payments my balances never seem to actually lessen and I'm struggling to keep up. Navient knows this and has known it for years. When the representative told me I should apply for the loan consolidation with her over the phone I asked if I honestly qualified and she said again I'm an excellent candidate. Not even XXXX seconds after she said she submitted the details she said, " Unfortunately you weren't approved for the consolidation. '' So, I was never a good candidate then, she used me and my financial desperation to hit her loan quota. Navient refuses to release my parents from my XXXX loans despite telling me I COULD release them. Navient guided me to apply for a consolidation under myself only knowing I'd be denied. Navient harasses my parents and I incessantly even when payments are scheduled. It never stops with this company. XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX and will spend the rest of my life attempting to pay high interest loans to a loan servicer who refuses to help the consumer. Navient is a despicable, predatory company and I just want to be as far away from this company as possible. My goal is to refinance my loans with another servicer but because of my financial struggles to pay Navient and Navient 's disregard to assisting struggling borrowers, my credit is not in a place to refinance elsewhere. When will something truly be done about Navient? I only wish to reduce my monthly payments and am at a loss where to go.
