Consumer Complaint: Income-Driven Repayment Payment Plan in XXXX was : {$27.00}, XXXX I Now Owe {$32000.00} Navient has managed to accumulate unfair interest on my account since XXXX. Upon speaking with their rep today, I was told about capitalized interest, and was charged 3 separate payments on XX/XX/XXXX in the amount of {$520.00}, instead of one-time capitalized interest fee sent every XXXX. Upon bringing this up, the agent stated that I was only charged an interest once even though I could see three charges for said amount. I was then placed on hold on XX/XX/XXXX in which the other two amounts were removed with no claim of fault from navient after the hold. To follow up, I brought up a capitalized interest in the amount of {$180.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. Which made no sense because I've never once missed a payment even though my amount is based on my income. I was immediately told by the rep " it's likely i missed a payment '' and of course that wasn't the case, because I was then placed on hold for over another hour just to be told that they would be investigating why that amount appeared on my account because they didn't know. THIS IS BAFFLING!! Upon calculating all accrued interests since XXXX, I'm baffled that the calculation of what I owe is {$30000.00} and not {$32000.00} as stated. I will like to be a part of suing this company for their false practices.

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: I try to pay at their website, it simply never gets applied. They do not mail me any payment coupons so I don't know anything about the payment, or have any ability to pay accurately. All they do is keep leaving truncated voicemails and refuse to do anything unless I play their game on the telephone which takes much longer than necessary. Really, how do they have a payment website but can't or won't process the payment. I am so sick and tired of these fools and thier seemingly malicious abuse. Please take away their handling of any student loans. This mightmare with these XXXX has been going on for years now! My last payment I made was on XX/XX/18, and my payment confirmation # was XXXX. But still they are demanding payment as if it was never rec 'd.

Consumer Complaint: My original student loan balances were {$38000.00} and {$34000.00} when the loans were consolidated and I began my $ XXXX monthly payments on XX/XX/XXXX. I continued making the $ XXXX monthly payments as agreed until XX/XX/XXXX, when I filed a Chapter XXXX Plan. The loan servicer told me that I should not make any payments until the Chapter XXXX Plan was completed and discharged. That same advice was confirmed by my bankruptcy counsel. The Chapter XXXX Plan lasted 5 years, during which I repaid the majority of my unsecured debt and continued paying my mortgage and car payments outside the plan. Upon discharge of the Chapter XXXX Plan, Navient advised me that it had capitalized 5 years of unpaid interest, effectively doubling the amount of the unpaid principal balance. I am now XXXX years old, unemployed and receiving a {$2000.00} monthly social security benefit, supplemented by a small IRA fund. My wife is XXXX and also unemployed. Neither of us have been able to find employment in our respective fields. Navient is demanding payments of {$1100.00} for 120 months, which will result in a total repayment of over {$150000.00}. Navient purposely advised me to stop my payments during the Chapter XXXX Pan so that it could charge me nearly twice what I originally owed on my student loan. I have repeatedly requested a smaller repayment amount from Navient to no avail. My IRA will be depleted before my expected lifetime expires if I am forced to make the demanded repayment amount ( s ).

Consumer Complaint: I made a payment in full for my outstanding balance due XX/XX/2018 on XX/XX/2018. I made a payment in full for my outstanding balance due to XX/XX/2018 on XX/XX/2018. Each time my balance came to {$0.00} after submitting my payments. Each time my payments were processed well before the due date. This morning, XX/XX/2018, I checked my account to discover a balance of {$20.00}, {$10.00} of which marked past due. I immediately contacted Navient customer support, who could not identify what happened short of my overpayments were not processed toward the outstanding balance. I made overpayments *in addition to* paying my full monthly balance on time every month. The agent told me she would reallocate funds from a previous overpayment to abolish the overdue charge, but she did not specify from which overpayment she would shuffle the money. I made it clear not to take it from the loan I paid off in full on XX/XX/2018, so now I am waiting to see if that decision was honored. The agent guessed this happened as a result of my IDR plan, for which I had been required to reapply for my XXXX payment and which was processed on XX/XX/2018. There was no answer as to why an overdue charge was posted to my account for my XXXX bill ( as well as an additional {$10.00} for my XXXX bill ) the morning after I had payed my balance in full through XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: It's been a while since I submitted a disputed. However, the student loans were duplicated on my XXXX and XXXX credit reports. I have tried to remove the duplications in the past, but it's still there. I have a total of 4 XXXX XXXX accounts on my report ( there should have only been 2 ). One loan was paid on XX/XX/XXXX and should be completely removed from all credit bureaus ( over 7 years old ). The other was paid on XX/XX/XXXX which is also duplicated. Currently, I should only be one Sally Mae account which should drop off in XX/XX/XXXX. Please advise.
