Consumer Complaint: Hello, I had several student loans with Navient over the years. I was enrolled in school in XXXX and XXXX. I also filled BK CHP 11 in late XXXX. My students loans were deferred during the time I was attending school. I paid my students loans after I graduated on a monthly basis. meaning post XXXX. In late XXXX I filled CHP 11 business BK due to owning several rental homes, not credit card, car loan etc debt. Once I filled in XXXX of XXXX my attorney stated " all of your loans will be deferred and forgiving ''. My attorney did state only private students loans, not XXXX. He claimed the XXXX student loan companies would reach out after my BK and notify me by mail or email on when to start paying and how much I owe. ( never happened for my wife or I ). I wasn't trying to get out of paying these, I was never informed by Navient when and how much which I feel is not ok. It seems like Navient has this pattern as a tool to increase fees ( late, interest increased rate etc ) which is unethical. My CHP XXXX was finalized in XX/XX/XXXX and Final Decree was offered from XXXX court system. In XX/XX/XXXX I stopped paying my student loans as instructed and went through the painful BK process. I have always kept my profile up to date online with Navient.com and contact number. Per Navient I've made a late payment over the summer of XXXX. ( XXXX, XXXX and XXXX ). I can assure you this did not take place. I haven't heard from Navient since XXXX at all. Not one letter, email or phone call stating I owed any money. My attorney told me the loans were gone and I wouldn't have any more student loans. My attorney was referring to my XXXX student loans, not my XXXX student loans. My BK CHP 11 created dysfunction in the credit banking world. Since a small percentage of the public file CHP 11 my creditors weren't sure what to do. My home loans ( XXXX XXXX, XXXX etc all made the same error on reporting my payment history. I was able to get correct with my home loans over a 16 month process ( XXXX ), but resolved. I have been grossly unsuccessful with Navient. Navient has made two errors. Error number one : Per my XXXX credit report Navient shows I owe a balance. ( I paid all loans off in XX/XX/XXXX ( recorded with Navient in XX/XX/XXXX ). Error number two is Navient shows that small window in XXXX I paid 30+, 60+ and 90+ late payments which I haven't. How do I pay a bill for under XXXX dollars a month if I am not aware I owe it. I made over XXXX in XXXX and XXXX why would I not pay this monthly payment. Once I realized what was going on I paid the balance of XXXX + off immediately. I've called Navient customer service multiple times and get the run around. This company has horrible public complaints which most have the same story I do. Please force Navient to show XXXX balance and correct my false late payment history. They can't just pick a month and year I should start paying again and expect me to know what is going on. This is abusive and not ok to treat someone like this. Why does Navient have hundreds of complaints and law suits and allowed to stay in business???? Please review the negative comments Navient has to confirm my accusations Regards, XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I was awarded XXXX XXXX with Department of Education over a year ago. All of my loans were moved over to XXXX for that process, with the exception of a Sallie Mae personal loan. I contacted Navient who told me because it was a personal loan -- with a co-signer, it was not eligible for XXXX XXXX. I contacted Sallie Mae to see about getting this loan forgiven and they advised they have no control because they gave all federal loans to Navient, and would not have any record of it. Then, I obtained a copy of my original promissory note with Sallie Mae ( from Navient ), which states I can pay {$50.00} a month if that is my only option and advised Navient in writing of this. However, Navient has continued to call me, charge me fees, and add negative additions to my credit reports. If this loan has been sold to Navient as a federal loan, then shouldn't it be treated as a federal loan and discharged at the time of the Department of Education 's approval? Can you find out why this loan hasn't been discharged? If there is no other option, why can't I pay {$50.00}. per month as my original promissory note states without negative results from Navient?

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of 2018, I made arrangements to lower my student loan payment through Navient. They agreed that I could pay {$68.00} for a year and then have my payment reassessed. I paid them {$75.00} and waited for my next bill as instructed. The next month my bill was like {$250.00} dollars and they said no payment went through but my bank said it did. They refuse to honor the agreed upon payment of {$68.00}. Navient also calls obssessivly. They will call my cell phone 5 to 6 times a day and my land line at least 4. It is always a recording and reaching a deal person is difficult. Last time I tried calling I was in gold for 20 minutes and just hung up.

Consumer Complaint: Keep trying to get on an income driven repayment plan. They put my loans in forbearance and I can't find where to apply. I've asked multiple times to send me the link. I get a link but then can't find where to apply. It's just a link of f.a.q.s

Consumer Complaint: Four years ago, I opted for the " Income Driven Repayment '' plan offered by Navient, due to my own unemployment. Navient was very misleading about what this meant. Among other things, my loan was transferred from the government sponsored student loan sector of Navient to the private loan sector. Part of the statement calls is a federal loan, but my payments must be sent to the private sector loan section of Navient. My statements have also been conflicting and misleading. When I would call, they would tell me that I was paid up ahead of time. But my online statement would say that I was behind with fees. In addition to the government/private loan conflict, the loan statement has me paying two different loan amounts two different times per month, though it's supposed to be a consolidated loan. It makes it impossible to make accurate payments, without additional fees and penalties, when my email statement, online statement and what they say when I call in all conflict. Fast forward 4 years .... now that our income is more stable ( though we are still playing catch-up with several forms of debt ), my loan payments are now {$70.00} more per month than they were 4 years ago, and my principal has gone up several thousand dollars from what it was when I first applied for income driven repayment. My initial student loan payment when I got out of college was at a little over a 3 % interest rate, just over {$200.00} per month for 20 years. 21 years later I am scheduled to now pay for another 20 years, at a rate of {$75.00} more per month. They made it look like the income driven repayment was meant to help us pay off our loan, but what they actually did was insure that I would be paying them for the rest of my life. This is predatory lending at its worst.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Consumer Complaint: I have been attempting to get lower payment options since XX/XX/2018 when I received what my payments would be increasing to. All of last year I was working on catching my loan up and making them current. I had to make a minimum payment but overpaid a little every month. I ended the year in good standings. I owed {$5.00} but I paid $ 20-40 a month. I paid as much extra as I could. I was emailed in XXXX and told my payments increased to over {$90.00} a month. I'm a single mom and can't afford that. I have reached out to them online twice, even allowed them access to my tax information. I made some kind of payment but now I'm behind and it's only XXXX. I mailed in financial hardship information and still haven't heard. I feel like they aren't responding to me so I will fall into default again and will be forced into another year of interest. I feel my student loan has more than doubled since I even got it.

Consumer Complaint: Hello. I am writing to express my concern about a student loan forgiveness program I qualified for. Navient denied my student loan forgiveness form. My District signed it and I qualified for {$17000.00}. I have been XXXX 20 years and am very upset to see my time does not matter. I have struggled and needed to place my loans in forbearance and deferment for quite some time. I filed bankruptcy in 2014. If you could please help me get back on track, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much. XXXX XXXX

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Consumer Complaint: As I graduated from the University XXXX XXXX in XX/XX/XXXX as a single mom my student loans became due. At various points throughout my repayment plan I needed an income based reduced payment plan. Navient NEVER offered me anything other than forbearance or deferment plans with accumulating interest. I could not afford full payment so I had no option. When I requested Navient review of my loans due to being a single mother working full time in the XXXX XXXX XXXX field as well as living in Section 8 housing and still not able to consistently pay the full amount of my monthly payments due to the non-negotiable 8 % interest rate I was told by Sallie Mae and then Navient that I didn't qualify because I had no property with which to secure the loan. My student loans, due to interest from these periods have now more than doubled to over {$100000.00}. In XX/XX/XXXX when I heard about the option for income based repayment with Navient due to their illegal practices prior, I immediately applied and was approved. THE PROBLEM Due to all of the accumulative interest, my now " income based '' payments don't even cover the ongoing accumulative interest on the principle plus interest balance of over {$100000.00}.

Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2018, I received a call from Navient asking me to make a payment of {$2500.00} and then I can pay {$200.00} a month with zero interest. Instead, Navient, took my {$2500.00} and {$200.00} each month. They used all the money for interest and very very little for principle. They constantly annoy you with calls and they lie to people just to get the payments. Please I need your help. I paid them {$2500.00} and four months of {$200.00} which is another {$800.00}. I really need your help.

Consumer Complaint: Navient and XXXX XXXX loan companies. I took out loans for my XXXX and XXXX. I was told by the University that they have 98 % hiring rate for new grads. * years went by and I still could not find a job. I finally got one now. During those eight years I had to take jobs that had nothing to do with my education. I incurred huge interest on my loans. I started with XXXX in debt and now it is at {$200000.00}. There is absolutely no way I can repay this back with huge interest rate. These companies pushing me into forbearance almost encouraging me every time I call to ask a question.
