Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: The servicer offers no options to make a payment via phone over the weekend! If you travel or work and the weekend is the time you have, the serviced should offer the automated payment option. When you call the XXXX # that is on the bill, they state that there is a automated system 24 hrs a day then it gives hours of operation ( m-f ) then it hangs up. The option that the servicer does offer is payment online but not all of us have internet capability! Also the online option does not offer payment by debit card. So not only does the borrower have to go find internet access, the are only given the option of paying by checking or savings acct # and routing # which is not normally info that someone carries around with them when they travel or away from home. If they wont over automated system for pay by phone 24 hrs as they advertise then they shouldnt be charging late fees for borrowers that dont have access to the internet and those who dont have the checking or savings # readily available

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Consumer Complaint: I continue to try to explain to the Navient Student loan payment center that I'm just not able to repay my loans. If I could I would. They continue to add charges to increase what is owed on my loans. I am living off of XXXX XXXX XXXX. I barely have enough income to pay for daily living expenses. I continue to get calls or reminders although I have continued explaining my situation. My dream of becoming a XXXX XXXX was lost after having a car accident which basically took my life away, at least the one I worked hard to try to get. I just simply can not afford to make any payments. I need to have all of these loans forgiven if possible. I had excellent credit at one time and I now have horrible credit. This upsets me and the whole situation has also affected my XXXX XXXX. I am under the care of a XXXX. The more they continue to ask for payments always increases my XXXX and XXXX XXXX. I'm just not able to pay these loans. My life changed dramatically after a car accident. I basically lost everything.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Public record information inaccurate
Consumer Complaint: *the attached screen shot shows the libelous remarks reported by navient after the loans were closed due to being pd in full through the consolidation* This company repeatedly puts remarks on my reports that are libelous and false. They have reported after my loans were Consolidated from them to another lender that I disagreed with the results of the investigation when in fact I did not. I feel that this is retaliation for me filing a previous complaint with this organization against navient and I'm about ready to allow my attorney to file a criminal suits against navient for libel and violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act for reporting false information to the bureaus. I have asked this organization on numerous previous occasions to not report false libelous information to the bureau 's and yes they continuously time and time again do so which I feel is retaliation and I'm about to retaliate against them myself by way of a lawsuits and a very negative media campaign.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Received bad information about your loan
Consumer Complaint: I have been paying on student loans since XXXX. I have been a government employee since XXXX. In XXXX, it was announced that Public Service Loan Forgiveness would be honored after 120 on time payments for federal student loans beginning in XX/XX/XXXX. I immediately contacted Sallie Mae, now Navient in XXXX to find out what I needed to do to qualify for this loan forgiveness and was told to have my employer complete a form that I was a public service employee and submit it and the application by XX/XX/XXXX. In late XXXX, I contacted Navient to make sure I was on track with submitting the necessary forms since I would qualify for loan forgiveness, only to learn that I had been misguided on that there had to be a specific type of repayment plan set up in order to qualify. I was not provided that information in XXXX and based on what I was told, did not feel the need to contact the lender till years later when I was eligible for the loan forgiveness. In XXXX, the company offered me an income driven repayment plan, but that would have started the clock for another 120 payments before I would qualify for student loan forgiveness and my debt would be paid in full by that time. I am very frustrated with the responses that Navient has provided. They gave bad information when I needed it the most to start the clock on the 120 months years ago. I have paid over {$200.00} per month on {$30000.00} federal student loans since XXXX, and still owe {$15000.00}. Something is wrong. I previously submitted a complaint and received a poor response that made it look like I was provided the information I needed up front, which is NOT true. I wasn't given the right information until late XXXX, after i spent the past 9 years thinking i was on track for loan forgiveness in XXXX. I feel I should qualify for loan forgiveness, since I have paid on these loans for 22 years and have been employed as a public service employee for 20 years.

Consumer Complaint: This about Department of Education /XXXX . I attended 2 different Community Colleges without a High School Diploma. I read about the Ability to Benefit Application, which helps some people be able to get their loans discharged. The qualifications are, no High School Diploma or G.e.d. You did not go through the ability to benefit test. False certification of documents. Meaning someone forged your name on documents etc. I qualified in every way. I sent test scores to them. Test showed I did not pass, sent high school transcripts etc. The Dept of Ed denied my application stating I had a High School Diploma. Now, the are the DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION. They know if I graduated from High School, or have my G.E.D. US Dept of Ed used lie, so they would not need to honor their application for the Ability to Benefit discharge. Navient, has my loans they gave me the run around so much concerning documents they needed to process that application, so it could get to the Dept of Education. They are being sued Dept of Ed, and Navient for these type of practices. Not honoring the discharge applications. Also charging to much on interest ext. HELP PLEASE!
