Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Received bad information about your loan
Consumer Complaint: I have been trying to finalize my mortgage. To do that I needed to show I was out of school ( graduated XX/XX/XXXX ) and get my loans consolidated to enter REPAY. I already consolidated my loans with Navient between XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX so I only needed to apply with the " add loans '' form which I did the first week on XX/XX/XXXX. I was sent correspondence from Navient on XX/XX/XXXX stating there is no waiting period to do this and it would be completed by XX/XX/XXXX. Since I submitted my REPAY apllication at the same time with my current proof of income, this would be done XX/XX/XXXX. I have spoken to Navient several times and received different answers. Now being told I had to wait up to 75-90 days ( depending on who I speak to ) for a consolidation to be done. Again, they also already confirmed the consolidation was completed months ago. Then today I received a coorespondance stating they put me into consolidation forbearance. I did not request any forebarence and have only been trying to get my payments established. I am to close on the home XX/XX/XXXX but can not do that until Navient has completed the add loans. I have been given multiple excuses such as they couldn't find the form, I can't establish repay on the loans until the add loans is done, they need to do another consolidation, there is no wait time for it, then a week, then varying months. It seems they are not allowing me to pay. They also claimed they took me out of in school status but the Dept of Ed still shows me in status. I was told they updated that on XX/XX/XXXX but as of today its not. I'm concerned that im unable to establish any kind of payments and they would take it upon themselves to put me into forebarence without even consulting or asking me about it, especially knowing I've bedn trying to establish a payment.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account status incorrect
Consumer Complaint: On Thursday, XX/XX/2019, I reached out from XXXX from XXXX XXXX indicating that I received a notification from Navient that my loan payment was late and that my understanding was that I entered into an agreement to pay the {$39.00} per month for a certain amount of time to get my loan forgiven. I knew that my payment was not late as the {$39.00} payment was and still is autodrafted from my banking account every XXXX of the month. He stated " I'm not sure why they would request payment. It looks like we just did a recert for you. '' I am in the process of purchasing a home. My lender contacted me on Wednesday XX/XX/2019 indicating that Navient has reported my loan as past due 60-90 days. I again reached out to XXXX via email and telephone. He provided me with notices from Navient on both both XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX stating that I was in good standing and further that my past due balance was XXXX. I'm not sure why only one of the three credit bureaus is reporting my student loans as past due. I am not sure if XXXX XXXX is a legitimate company. I have paid them for over a year and when I recently reviewed my portal, none of my student loans are even listed on the XXXX XXXX website. I have been paying them to manage my student loans so that they can be forgiven and I do not know what the status of the forgiveness or the balance.

Issue: Getting a loan
Subissue: Fraudulent loan
Consumer Complaint: I have a fraudulent that I am the alleged co-signer of. The requested amount id XXXX for one and the other is for XXXX. These loans have conflicting information. The D.O.B. does not match and neither does the signatures. None of the information was verified by the school or loan servicing department. The school was XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX which is closed down now. This information is not in my writing. The main issue is that this paper work is clearly fraudulent and they are acting like they need more proof. I've been victimized and Navient is continuing the abuse by honoring obvious fraud that should have never went through the system to begin with. I could not select the proper XXXX XXXX XXXX because I didn't have that option but it happened in XXXX.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account information incorrect
Consumer Complaint: I have now tried on multiple occasions to reach out to NAVIENT and work with them in regards to this issue, and have had no success. First things first, I had loans through them apparently from when I was attending school. I wasn't aware of this, and every other loan I had taken out made it a point to contact me and have been receiving their money since day of contact. NAVIENT on the other hand informed me that I was enrolled for " paperless '' and that they only ever tried to contact me through an email address I no longer had access to for the past few years. After this information was given to me, I submitted a report and got the information back that they had apparently tried to call my mother and I 's cell phones as well, and left us many messages. When I called about the account because I saw the defaults on my credit report, they told me they only ever tried to email me, and never mentioned anything about call attempts. That whole conversation was recorded via their system, and now I am being told that they tried to call/left voicemails also? They had the right home address, and phone numbers for my mother and I, so had this been the case we would've went and paid the payment on it immediately. If possible, I would like the dates/times NAVIENT had tried to reach out to me, because her and I both have absolutely no records from this. Sallie Mae on the other hand left us a voicemail and was paid that same week. Since this report has happened on my credit report, I can't finance or pay for anything even though I make a good income, and have had outstanding credit until this point. As I stated before I even tried to backpay what was owed, and they let me know the forbearance should be taking this off within a week, and it is over a month later. On every attempt I make to contact them, I get more and more false information, and don't want to consult legal help but I will. The people that I talked to said to try and pursue this avenue before heading that direction, but at this point it seems like I have no choice but to go this path. I can not reiterate enough that I have made every effort to work this out through them, but at this point it is costing me a multitude of different purchases/experiences that I can no longer prolong.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Problem lowering your monthly payments
Consumer Complaint: To be clear, I currently have my loan paid in full. I had to take out another loan to pay the student loan off once it was sent to Navient. Navient placed up to 82 % of my payments toward interest instead of principal. It appears they utilized my inability to pay more on my loan at the time to increase the duration of the loan and, therefore, increase their profit toward interest.
