Issue: Struggling to repay your loan

Subissue: Can't temporarily delay making payments

Consumer Complaint: I am a breath away from bankruptcy. I enrolled in a debt management program that is helping. I have XXXX, XXXX, XXXX extra income. I already made an agreement with evil incarnate Navient for the private loan. I simply can not and will not pay more. They typically call 3-4x per day, and I already have them hard blocked on both XXXX site and a 3rd party app that hangs up, but they keep calling. Today XXXX 3 calls XXXX 6 calls! ABSURD! XXXX 2 calls XXXX 3 calls CEASE AND DESIST! My next step will be to change my phone # to an unlisted private #. Navient needs to get it through their heads that repeated calls will not change circumstances!

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Keep getting calls about your loan

Consumer Complaint: I constantly get spam calls regarding my student loans. Today, I received a voice message at XXXX XXXX from XXXX-XXXX-XXXX from XXXX XXXX from Navient. She claims that due to a settlement, my student loans are eligible for forgiveness. ( Navient is not my loan servicer ). For completeness, I called Navient and confirmed that they do not offer loan forgiveness over the phone ( obviously ). I wanted to file this report so vulnerable others are lured into this deception.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled

Consumer Complaint: I contacted Navient to work on payments. I get my account information XXXX, 2019. Only received a letter saying their counseling and my payment plan. They never notified mean the payments were not going through. XX/XX/2019 We gave them my account information. But continuously they're saying they can't take out the payments. Insufficient funds, yet when I research there's been significant amount of money in my account each time. When I asked for documentation for my bank. They couldn't provide any.

Consumer Complaint: I Co-Signed a Student Housing Loan for my daughter to attend XXXX XXXX area and live in their affiliated apartments. Checks in amount of {$20000.00} plus interest rate now has the loan at {$30000.00}. Navient or Sallie Mae have not provided me the original loan documents with my signature on it. I fulfilled the orginal loan terms to release co-signor in XXXX and now Navient has several stipulations and demand were they know my daughter can't produce to release me. I can't get any answers to solve this issue. Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled

Consumer Complaint: After paying my loans for almost a decade, on time according to the agreement in place with the creditor Navient, decided to sell my loans to two other creditors. I have gotten letters from XXXX XXXX XXXX and another creditor XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, all while still getting letters from Navient as well. I know by law I am not required to pay on loans seeking compensation for the same account. And because Navient has changed the loan terms so many times and mis-managed the money I have sent to them over the years I refuse to allow them to further destroy my abilities to apply for credit. It has been increasingIy difficult to track down the different ways to manage the accounts associated with this company. I know through Indiana law that I have done my due diligence in paying off these student loans. Navient can no longer prove they own the rights to collect on any of the loans in question. I have written numerous letters to their department of Education and private loan dpt. and was successful in getting all the accounts associated with Navient removed from both my XXXX credit report and my XXXX credit file since XX/XX/2019. However, now that it is the month of XXXX Navient has placed some accounts back on my credit file with the credit bureau XXXX. I am respectfully demanding that all accounts with Navient be removed from all three of the major reporting credit bureaus : XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX immediately. I have solicited the help of lawyers and I'm prepared to sue Navient for every last cent they claim I owe if these accounts are not removed immediately.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Received bad information about your loan

Consumer Complaint: I had no idea how Student Loans work. I took them out though because I needed the money for college, and my college told me it would be the only way I would be able to afford to go. That is on me. I attended the University of XXXX XXXX and graduated in XX/XX/2016. Fast forward to when I was graduated. About 5 months after I graduated, I started receiving calls about setting up arrangements to pay back my loans. I was still searching for a permanent job, but was doing odd jobs here and there to make some money. I explained this situation to them and they were very understanding. I offered to make a reduced rate knowing what I could afford. This is when things started going south for me. They mentioned a program where I could pay {$0.00} until I got to the point where I could afford the proper amount ( approximately 1 % of the my total loan amount a month ) / I offered to at least begin making small payments but was told that it would do nothing but lower my credit score as they would have to report it as incomplete payments. I was pressured in to the {$0.00} payment plan. I told them I would need some time to think about it. They responded with my need to act quickly as this was a short time offer that they do not regularly give out and I could lose it. I was rushed documents to fill out as they told me what to put down. I then entered in to this agreement where I paid {$0.00} for about 18 months until I finally had enough cash flow to provide the full amount a month. Having done research and having abetter understanding of how student loans work and money work, I feel that I was taken advantage of and could have at the very least, covered the payments of the interest to prevent an even higher amount being owed now. When I did bring it up to them, they just apologized for how I was treated and stated that all they could do is ensure better customer service moving forward.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Don't agree with the fees charged

Consumer Complaint: Navient has been servicing my loans for the past several years. Due to the unfair capitalization of interest that had already been credited from processed payments, I refinanced my loan through another servicer. The loan balance was paid in full on XX/XX/XXXX. I received the usual email from Navient on XX/XX/XXXX which indicated that another payment would be taken from my account on XX/XX/XXXX. I signed into my account to see what they were showing due, and the balance was {$0.00}. XX/XX/XXXX a draft came through my bank account from Navient, even though the principal balance is XXXX.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed

Subissue: Debt is not yours

Consumer Complaint: In fall XX/XX/XXXX I received a call from Pioneer Credit Recovery, XXXX and was told they were trying to collect a debt that I owed. The woman asked for the last 4 digits of my SSN. She refused to tell me anything about the specific amount of the debt or who the creditor was unless I provided that information. I refused to do so. As there was a stalemate, we hung up. I have never received any notice in my mail of any debt owed, nor am I aware of anything owed. Pioneer soon began calling multiple times, up to 3 times a day 5 days a week, but I would not take the calls. On XX/XX/XXXX I filed a complaint with the FTC, and the calls immediately stopped. But on XX/XX/XXXX Pioneer resumed calling me, again up to 3 times a day 5 days a week. This time I blocked the calls, but my phone does record auto-rejected calls.
