Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Keep getting calls about your loan

Consumer Complaint: All calls to phone number XXXX and cosigner XXXX should have cease and desist. I wrote Navient on date XX/XX/XXXX with correspondence sent through the mail. Navient received the correspondence on XX/XX/XXXX according to USPS tracking but ignored my request. Navient is in violation of my cease and desist request. Navient made phone calls the co-signer on the account on XX/XX/XXXX she received four calls and one more the following day on XX/XX/XXXX. The co-signer was again harassed on XX/XX/XXXX by a Navient debt collector. According to the CFPB when a consumer refuses, in writing, to pay a debt or requests that the debt collector cease further communication, the collector must cease all further communication, except to advise the consumer that : The collection effort is being stopped. Certain specified remedies ordinarily invoked may be pursued or, if appropriate, that a specific remedy will be pursued. Mailed notices from the consumer are official when they are received by the debt collector. The co-signer on the account reminded the debt collector from Navient of the cease and desist letter and they continue to ignore us. We received more calls on XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX. I requested that Navient can only communicate with us via the mailbox. They continue to ignore my request by contacting us via phone.

Consumer Complaint: This is many years later about Navient. I previously filed complaints about XXXX XXXX in XXXX. I started getting harassing calls first from someone twice and they said that they are calling from " XXXX ''. Then they said that they have a client that is working with me that would like to talk with me. Then they transferred it to a man, without even waiting for my approval. The man said that he is calling about my Navient XXXX XXXX XXXX. I told him that it is over. Then he called and left a message using scare tactics. His voicemail said that he is working for Navient and he needs to get my work authorization. I didn't call him back. Why didn't I call hem back? Because those Private Loans were charged in XXXX and they passed through through four years of California XXXX XXXX XXXX. Then they kept on emailing me and reported my credit for another 10 years. After 10 years Sallie Mae/Navient dept was over and I never paid for them. They removed the debt from my XXXX XXXX XXXX Credit Report XXXX XXXX. I checked my Credit Report today and I found out a wrongfully charged old debt that said " It was paid at XX/XX/XXXX ''. That is a lie. I never paid them and they are being sneaky and they are scamming me. They have no transaction to approve my payment to them on XX/XX/XXXX. They basically set the clock back to reactivate my old loans. I want Navient to take responsibility for their wrong doing and remove their newly activated loan. Here is a screen shot of Navient 's stupid lie and reporting! Consumer Complaint: Navient, a student loan provider has been harassing me with bill collecting for a student loan. I have been in XXXX school consistently since XXXX working on my XXXX XXXX and XXXX degrees as an XXXX XXXX in school. This is the second time Navient has engaged in unjustified harassment. Back in XXXX, they began sending me letters and bills and calling me to make payments on a student loan even though I was enrolled and attending XXXX XXXX. It wasn't until my university VP of Finance called them to confirm I was in school and still working on my XXXX. Navient argued with the VP for two hours and finally relented but it took over 2 hours on the phone on a three-way call to get it settled. Navient is again calling, harassing, and sending letters that my payments are past due, even though I graduated in XX/XX/XXXXXXXX ( Conferred degree on XXXX XXXX XXXX ). I have contacted an attorney and it was confirmed that I have a six-month grace period that begins upon graduation confirmation. My attorney sent a letter to Navient stating such. Navient responded with a letter stating XXXX XXXX withdrew me from the program on XXXX XXXX, XXXX, which is simply not true. I let them know this. They kept calling writing and demanding pay even though I am in the grace period. I contacted a lawyer and they sent a letter to Navient. Navient continues to send me emails and billings showing overdue payments, even though I am in the grace period. I am in the process of consolidating my student loans. Navient is showing I am past due. I want to make sure Navient 's late payments are removed from my credit report. Navient has been falsely accusing my University of statements and bullying me into paying loans while in the grace period and it is affecting my loan consolidation request and credit reports. I learned that the letter was not from the DOE, it was from aidVantage which is a Navient branch. I let my employer know what was happening, they directed me to CFPB to file this complaint and report Navient for bad faith practices. I'm concerned that they are reporting I have late payments to the credit bureau which is untrue. They are stating I owe {$840.00} and also other fees added to it and I am still in the grace period. I would like to have all of Navient 's incorrect reporting removed from my credit report. I am requesting Navient to withdraw their bully tactics and credit reports that I am late to all three credit reporting entities, XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX. In addition to their false statement about my University and my enrollment, Navient sent me a letter with a return address stating Dept. of Education informing me my loans could not be consolidated until I pay Navient in full. I would like Navient sanctioned for such bad and deceptive practices, my credit restored, and a statement that my loan repayments will remain in the grace period until six months after XXXX XXXX 's confirmation of my graduation. I would also like legal fees reimbursed for having to deal with Navient lies to clear up my status.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, On XX/XX/2023, Navient withdrew {$970.00} from my checking account without authorization and notifying me of this withdrawal. This payment caused my checking account to be overdrawn, and my husband and I are going into the weekend without a dollar to our names. Our bank will also charge us {$35.00} a day in overdraft fees. I was given an estimated date of refund of XX/XX/2023. So, we will be charged {$350.00} in overdraft fees by our bank because of an error that Navient made. I called to try to rectify this situation. I was told that no managers were available to take my call, and I was spoken to very disrespectfully by an employee named XXXX XXXX. She was dismissive and unhelpful to me. I was crying on the phone, as we are supposed to travel this weekend to see my father for XXXX XXXX XXXX, and we will not be able to do that now because we have no money for gas or a gift. I am also in school and have successfully processed an in-school deferment for my private student loans. I have all of the documentation to prove this. Navient should be forced to refund the {$970.00} immediately and cover my {$350.00} overdraft fees. They DID NOT have my permission to withdraw this money from my checking account, NOR did they notify me of this payment. It was snake-like and deliberate. I have been dealing with this company doing things like this to me for 18 years, and I refuse to stand for it anymore. I demand my money be refunded, and my fees be covered. I will not drop this case until it is resolved to my satisfaction.
