Consumer Complaint: I was told that if I paid my student loans for 10 years I would qualify for public service loan forgiveness, however after paying the loan for the required time I was told my loans were the wrong type. The government changed the loan program and my loan did not qualify for the loan forgiveness but Navient failed to inform me. I felt cheated and Navient as the experts did not direct me properly, after the 10 years they offered me another forgiveness program that would have increased my payment, which I could not afford. I have been paying my loans since 2005 and still owe {$52000.00}, I am never going to get out of the hole. I have recently had XXXX and an aggressive XXXX XXXX called XXXX XXXX, which have both resulted in loss of wages and additional medical fees. I will be XXXX years old soon and will have to retire, I do not know how I will continue to pay the loan on a small retirement.

Consumer Complaint: I opened a complaint with Cfpb last year - complaint id : XXXX-XXXX My complaint was resolved and Navient stated that they removed the incorrect reporting of a late/ missed payment in XX/XX/XXXX. However it has come to my attention that Navient has averted the complaint by adding / shuffling late / missed payments reported to my credit bureaus. Navient removed a late/missed payment reported XX/XX/XXXX as requested, however they reported a late missed payment in XX/XX/XXXX when removing the XX/XX/XXXX remark. As stated in my first letter to Navient, I began making payments under this plan starting XX/XX/XXXX. Navient also shuffled the XX/XX/XXXX payment and XX/XX/XXXX payment as well when I stated I had not been late a full 30 at this time either.

Consumer Complaint: The payment for this loan is {$78.00}, in XXXX of 2015, I elected to pay more on the loan in a payment of {$86.00} ( {$8.00} extra ). Now, when navient sends my paper bill, the paper bill specifically says the payment due is {$86.00}. This is misleading, the payment is {$78.00}. navient 's website, when logged in, also has confusing information about choosing how overpayments are processed. The terminology, " allocation direction '', not used by other traditional lending institutions, is ambiguous. And, if one tries to edit/change the " direction '', the explanations are also ambiguous. No other financial institution uses this terminology or offers 7 choices ( 3 of which are in favor of the financial institution ) for options of applying an overpayment. It's obvious that navient purports to offer many choices while in fact selecting some of those choices will in fact benefit them. Traditionally, and with any other lender, an overpayment is either A : applied to the principal or B : applied to the interest ; period. For example on the XXXX, website, one can choose how much to pay ( which is displayed ) and to which loans XXXX which is displayed ) ; it's not ambiguous.

Consumer Complaint: Earlier this year I contacted Navient about my loan and how to lower my interest rate. They stated if I delayed payment for two months Id be able to qualify for a different program, which includes a low ( lower ) interest option. However, when the time came they told me there was nothing they could do. I then had to make two payments and instead of applying to towards any principal they applied it towards capitalized interest. This is absolutely terrible practice. I then called to have them pull the recording of the call and they declined to help at all. At this time I have a 10 % interest rate and owe $ XXXX for a loan that had a beginning balance of $ XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: There was a unknown number that sent me a text about paying debt that I don't owe. It was a collection agency called Municipal Services Bureau ( MSB ) behalf of XXXX Co Court-OJD. I don't if this is a scam or if they are wanting the money from me. This could result probably in bankruptcy or fraud in my banking account. The MSB would plan to file a lawsuit against me for my payment and more money owed. I do not owe any of those to MSB.
