Consumer Complaint: I would like to file a complaint against XXXX College and Navient. I feel like the loan company is working hand and hand with XXXX College to scam people. I was tried to apply for college and was told I could not go because I was a minor. I was under XXXX years old. My mother is deceased and the school told me they had to get information from my dad. I do not know where or who my father his all I knew was his name. I am still unsure how I was able to get enrolled in the college. I do not understand how I was charged the tuition I have or the charges. I took out 2 loans. I was told if I continued my education that I would get XXXX from the school. Which I never received. The school is charging all kind of fees, that people are not a ware of. I called the school today around XXXX XXXX and spoke with XXXX. He told me to email the school to receive a print out of all of my charges. Why do I owe the school money and Navient.

Consumer Complaint: I was enrolled in XXXX college back in XXXX or XXXX. I was not aware of the high price I had been issued for this school. My loans total in the amount of XXXX. I was only enrolled in this school for about a year prior to graduating and was not able to obtain employment as they promised nor received assistance. I tried contacting them for years with no luck and didn't know what to do. I have been seeing a lot of ads on the scam that was happening at XXXX and that I should submit to have this debt removed.

Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Consumer Complaint: I have two student loans serviced by Navient. In XXXX of 2018, they applied a forbearance to both loans, when I was unemployed and unable to pay the monthly balance, which I have learned may not have been in my best interest. The loans are back in repayment status, and I find myself in the same situation. In XXXX, I paid an amount less than what was due. I answered their request to resolve the matter, and their solution was to enroll in a six-month interest payment program, which required an additional payment and autopay enrollment with a debit or credit card. They made a calculation of what that monthly amount should be. I don't know what they based that calculation on. Aside from food stamps, I currently have no income. Enrolling in credit card auto payment would result in more debt with higher interest rates. They had no other options and said my case would be turned over to a debt collector if I did not accept that offer.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/19 I reached out to XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to settle an account that I cosigned on, that was originated with Navient. They agreed to accept a lower amount ($XXXX), if it was paid that same day. After receiving the offer by email, I called back and paid in full, by electronic check. I was assured that I would receive an email and letter that this account was paid in full, and that this account would be removed from my credit report. The payment cleared my bank on XX/XX/19. I have called XXXXr 6 times beginning on XX/XX/19, and each time was told that I would receive such letter by end of business day. As of XX/XX/19, have not received letter or email. I have also reached out to Navient on XX/XX/19, with no better luck.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: I have two private student loans handled by Navient. Since XXXX of this year, I have had to call them monthly ( could not solve the problem via their web site ). Each month I have to make the same request which is to apply a specific amount to ONE of the loans, and leave the other loan UNAFFECTED. Both loans are paid automatically. I have requested {$1900.00} to be paid as an extra payment on ONE loan MONTHLY until THAT ONE LOAN is paid off. Each month less has been applied ; typically {$1900.00}. and dispersed among BOTH loans. Also, until the most recent phone call I made onXX/XX/XXXX I was not told that I could pay a MAXIMUM of {$1900.00} and was not given a reason for this. This is causing me to have to pay my loan off longer than I want to pay it off. My plan is that when that one loan is paid off, then the {$1900.00} would be applied to the remaining loan. Each month they apologize and assure me that the following month, the amount deducted automatically will be applied to the ONE loan I want it applied to. Each month this is NOT the case. This situation will cause me to have to pay my loan off over a longer time frame than I want to and will cost me more money to do so. I have never made a payment late or paid less than was was required. Please advise. Thank you.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Received bad information about your loan
Consumer Complaint: Good Afternoon, My name is XXXX XXXX and in XXXX of XXXX I was called by XXXX XXXX XXXX ( which was a contract debt collector for Sallie Mae / Dept of Ed. ). because my loan was in default status. I was told that in order to make a settlement for my loan that I could pay {$10000.00} and my entire student loan would be satisfactorily settled. I made a Payment on XX/XX/XXXX. I received a 1099 in XXXX from IRS of that year stating that my loan was statisfied and that my Tax returns would no longer be garnished. I have recently learned that XXXX went out of business shortly thereafter. In XX/XX/XXXX my data was transferred back from XXXX to Navient/ Dept of Education . At that time I started getting correspondence from Navient stating that this same loan had never been settled or paid at all. The full amount of the outstanding balance plus interest and late fees has been placed on my credit report. This is severely problematic because I currently work in finance and this large debt of {$30000.00} is causing my credit score to be lowered because it increases my debt to income ratio for this amount of unsecured debt that I am responsible for has the credit appearance that I am irresponsible with finances. An additional injury was that In XXXX I had to leave a position as a XXXX in the XXXX XXXX XXXX because my security clearance was being reviewed and faced adjudication because of this large debt. I would have been fired for financial concerns. I have contacted Navient and the credit bureaus on several occasions. I am now asking that the CFPB get involved so that I can securely work without fear of this negatively impacting the way potential employers view me. I would like someone to review this matter and my loan because this is causing me severe economic harm. Respectfully, XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) XXXX
