Consumer Complaint: I called Navient today to inquire about the Federal government extending a forbearance and 0 % to people with student loans. After sitting in the phone tree for 10 minutes, I was given an option for them to call me back. I was never called back. NOT HAPPY! I've already paid over 3 times the amount I borrowed and still owe over {$10000.00} and this new law would help my family very much. To have Navient not even call me back is not acceptable, especially considering how much they have made on me.

Consumer Complaint: I have attempted for two years to get details of addition fees and charges they continue to charge me, I have never received any explanation of these fees and when I relented and paid for them, they charged me for a new set of fees and added them to my monthly total again.

Consumer Complaint: Due to the recent economic downturn, my income has been severely cut. I have contacted Navient about lowering or postponing my payments until this crisis is over but I have only received copy-and-paste replies which have no information except to call them and wait on hold indefinitely until I get through. This is not acceptable. Navient needs to be proactive during this time by reaching out to private loan holders with options. During this time, they also need to cease and desist harassing co-signers.

Consumer Complaint: On or about XX/XX/XXXX, I contacted Navient due to a change in income that reduced my monthly take home pay by $ XXXX/month as well as additional financial obligations I have for other student loans which had recently re-entered repayment. I explained the change in my circumstances and requested a reduction in my interest rate to enable me to maintain my on-time payment history. Navient denied my request and said that they would allow me to make interest only payments for six months. I explained that this option did not address my needs and would only cause me to pay more month over the life time of the loan. They said this was the only option they were willing to offer at that time. I thanked them for this and advised that unless a different arrangement could be made, it would risk putting me in financial hardship and possibly not able to make the payments on my loan. On XX/XX/XXXX I contacted Navient again, regarding a further change to my income due to the Coronavirus / COVID-19 pandemic. I explained that my wages were being reduced and the possibility that my position would be eliminated within 2 weeks, and I requested a deferment or forbearance of payments for 6 months so that I would have enough time to assess my financial situation, pay for necessary expenses such as groceries and shelter, and not miss payments during this time. The monthly payment amount which Navient requires from me is almost 40 % of my monthly income and this was not sustainable. The representative asked if I had lost my job, and when I confirmed that I was still employed currently, but with a further reduced income and the possibility that my job would be eliminated in the near future, she said that " Deferment and Forbearance are only for people who have lost their job. '' She then proceeded to tell me that she would reduce my payment by {$400.00} to $ XXXX/month and asked if I would be able to make that payment amount. I told her that I was confused about her math because my monthly payment was significantly higher ( $ XXXX/month ). She then told me that I was " being hostile '' and that she had never said " $ XXXX/moth, '' to which I responded that I would like to have a copy of the recording of our conversation to verify this because I had been taking notes during our call. She told me that her manager would handle that request and that I would receive the recording " within 2 weeks. '' I asked for her employee identification number ( it is # XXXX ) and she then hung up without providing any information as to how I would receive the recording of the call.

Consumer Complaint: I applied for Loan Forgiveness because of my XXXX inhibiting my ability to continue with repayment of the student loans I opened for my daughter 's education. I was told that I was approved for the Loan Forgiveness, only to find out that all they did was remove me from the loan and keep my husband 's name on the loan. Essentially, all they did was take my name off the loan. I was still in the position that I had to repay the loan, which isn't what I was trying to do at all. I needed Complete Loan Forgiveness! To this day, I am still having to pay for the loans that I was told were being Forgiven. I did have documents related to this whole process, I may have destroyed them because I was so upset with the final outcome and my inability to get anyone at Navient to return my calls regarding this matter. I will have to see if I kept them and then I would be able to supply them.

Consumer Complaint: I am being billed by XXXX for a {$1800.00} ambulance transport on XX/XX/XXXX. My insurance company, XXXX, has determined that XXXX is a national provider and as such, required to accept the contracted amount of {$390.00}. XXXX issued a check to XXXX for {$390.00} on XX/XX/XXXX ( ID # XXXX ). Both XXXX and MSB collection agency continue to send letters indicating that I owe {$1800.00}. I sent certified letters to both MSB and XXXX detailing the above information on XX/XX/XXXX. While I received a return receipt from MSB, signed by XXXX XXXX, XXXX failed to pick up the correspondence.

Consumer Complaint: I called navient in the wake of coronavirus epidemic. My XXXX XXXX is closed for 2 weeks as per the american XXXX association, so I have no income. I am XXXX XXXX, so no unemployment insurance. I understand federal loans are waiving interest. Navient will not offer any programs other than forbearance - so defer and then capitalize interest when this is over! There is no relief, very unfair during a crisis. Pushing people into forbearance will only delay the bigger issue - heavy interest. They keep responding to my complaints with corporate padding answers, no legitimate solution. What about the rest of the millions of students with loans. We need a class action suit against Navient lender.

Consumer Complaint: This started as a XXXX dollar loan from Sallie mae to attend school at XXXX XXXX University. The school claimed they were accredited but at that time they were not. I did not attend one day of class and asked to withdraw. I was told I would automatically be withdrawn because I didn't not attend class. Sallie mae continued this loan and placed a high interest rate to bring it up to XXXX dollars from a XXXX dollar original loan. I have called the school and they claim they have no info and navient is contacting me with rude reps. This is horrible I can not pay for something I never got and I am tired of navient contacting me.

Consumer Complaint: I have reached out to Navient countless times to get the contact information for the company that owns my student loan ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) but have countless times been told that they do not have the contact information to provide me. I have escalated my concern a number of times and spoken to various supervisors who have escalated my request for information. None are able to provide me with a phone number, email, or mailing address for XXXX XXXX, XXXX. The only information that they are able to provide me with is the contact information for Navient, the company that services the loan. I am the co-signer on the loan and have made over {$21000.00} in payments and the loan still have a balance of over {$47000.00}. I have also attempted to be released from the loan as I am the co-signer but that has also not been possible. I have not spoken to the loan holder in 15 years and have no way to contact them.
