Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer
Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled
Consumer Complaint: I am having difficulty getting my student loan company, Navient, to work with me to reduce my monthly payment. I submitted my first request back in XX/XX/2019 but the company still will not offer me a payment plan. Instead they keep forbearing my account so that my interest rate keeps accruing. I keep submitting forms for Income Driven Repayment plans but they keep stalling on processing this. When I call to check in about the status, they ask me to submit something new but never give me complete or accurate information so that this can be processed correctly. I never wanted to put a forbearance on my account but only to lower my monthly payment from {$1200.00} to something more manageable.

Consumer Complaint: Sallie Mae was my initial loan servicer but then Navient took over. I am having problems with Navient who keeps trying to get me to go into forbearance, which I do not want to do, and the rep keeps telling me that anyone who is past due 3 months will automatically be put into forebearance, which I am totally against. Due to COVID-19, the White House announced 0 % interest on Department of Education ( DOE ) loans effective XX/XX/XXXX. However, Navient keeps telling me that I do not have a DOE loan ; therefore, I do not qualify for 0 % interest and I must apply for forbearance.I keep telling the multiple reps and supervisors whom I have spoken with, that my loans are DOE loans. I heard about the past lawsuits where Navient was incentivizing employees to encourage burrowers to postpone payments through forbearance. It appears that they are at it again. Please assist in this matter. Navient needs to be stopped with this draconian style of servicing!!

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX the President waived all interest on student loans. I made a payment to my student loan held by Navient on XX/XX/XXXX to my consolidated loan. Navient collected the interest on the loans first, then applied the the remaining payment to the principal amount. It seems they are functioning as normal and not following the President of the United States orders. I emailed a complaint to their website and told them i would be contacting the CFPB. Please keep me in the loop with how this complaint will be processed. Thank you, XXXX

Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: I sent a Debt validation letter to MSB MUNICIPAL SERVICES BUREAU. A request was made pursuant to 15 USC 1692g Sec. 809 ( 6 ) of the FDCPA. As stated in the law, MSB MUNICIPAL SERVICES BUREAU did not cease collection activities, in fact, they continued reporting to the credit bureau. To date, I have not received a letter or phone call from the MSB MUNICIPAL SERVICES BUREAU or any attempts by the debt collector to validate the debt they believe I owe. It has been more than a few months since they put the debt on my credit report and More than 1 month since I requested validation. This isn't my initial time filing a complaint on this company, I filed a CFPB complaint before and it was deemed unauthorized and removed from my credit. Evidently, they have marketed the account to another creditor and creating further efforts to collect on a debt that isn't mine.

Consumer Complaint: I miss three payments with navient student loans. And they posted 30 missed payments. My account came off of forbearance and I was unaware to me. After realizing the three missed payments called in and my account was placed back in forbearance. I was told it was retroactive forbearance but it was just forbearance. and they refused to remove the 30 missed payments from my credit report.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan
Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan
Consumer Complaint: I have had 3 loans from Sallie mae/navient since the mid 2000 's. Each were taken out for XXXX. Since then I have been paying on them when I could even though they were in deferment. Once I had a career I started paying monthly plus adding extra payments while I could, this has been for over 3 years now. I still owe close to XXXX. I dont understand why my loan amount is not dropping. I have called several times over the years to see if I could get the interest rate down and ask how exactly my payments are being used to my accounts. I have not been able to lower the rates they've actually have gone higher and I recoeved no real answer to why my loan isnt really going down. Would like some help to relieve me from this huge debt and headache. Thank you, XXXX
